I think most of us just dream OF NiGHTS because we're fans and all haha.
However, cool story I'd like to share. I used to lucid dream a lot as a child (maybe up until I was 9 or so). I hadn't had a lucid dream since. I was 18 when I started visiting this website and meeting so many inspiring people... I would like to thank TRiPPY, DiGi, and the entire community here because for the first time in maybe 10 years, I had a lucid dream. I had a couple of them, some of them I was able to keep lucidity longer than others... but all my dreams (even regular ones) were a thousand times more vivid and I had so much freedom and control of everything, even if I didn't realize it was a dream!
Anyway in one of these lucid dreams I met NiGHTS. Take that however you want... all I'm saying is that I was lucid, went flying and ran into him in a library kinda place of all things. I guess it was because I was lucid that made this a different kind of encounter than when I usually just dream of NiGHTS or playing NiGHTS or whatever haha.
He ended up giving me a piece of paper and I tried reading it... which broke my lucidity and my dream completely changed. haha
I dunno... but I hope to start lucid dreaming again! I mean, I dream of NiGHTS often, like I dream of all my other interests... I don't think much about it. But only once have I dreamt of him in a lucid dream, and that was a short encounter. It was definitely different... and interesting... to KNOW you're dreaming... and seeing someone (anyone, not just NiGHTS) stand in front of you and act and talk at their own will and you have no control over them or predictions of their actions...
its like... this is my dream, right? I should be the one controlling everything! but things just run wild and you're unable to make any sense of it. Like a stranger in my own dream. So it makes me wonder... who are these people in my dreams and where are they coming from? How is my mind able to create these images and people and situations... without me knowing more about it?
...Dreams really are crazy things. Sorry if I kinda rambled.

And I couldn't agree more with ya.You're thinking of the Sonic community where something as simple as new characters and slightly different voice acting cause a stir year after year. NiGHTS, on the other hand, is a liberty of the mind. Anything goes in the land of Nightopia.

gah, something that happened to me the other night that really frustrates me... I realized I was dreaming. I did a reality check and figured it out and even told myself "this is a dream" but... I didn't realize what that all meant... exactly. so I wasn't fully lucid~
This happens to me sometimes. where I suppose I am techinically lucid, but don't realize that I'm not taking advantage of it the way I should...
and in some cases I won't realize I'm dreaming... but I do feel super powerful and control everything that is going on in my dreams...
very rarely do I both know I'm dreaming, and realize I can control my actions/do anything I want because it is a dream. Only then do I identify it as a truly lucid dream... and they only come once in a while.
I guess I'll just keep working on that. But does anyone else know what I'm talking about or have the same problems?

I think its a great voice. Definitely not some atrocious thing that it could have ended up being haha. Like everyone else, I had a different idea in mind all these years. A more childlike voice... definitely more androgynous, but I'm sure I'll get used to this one.
Oh... and anyone else wish the Maren would speak jibberish language + subtitles rather than an actual language? You know like "Simlish"? lol
But I'm loving the accent too. I wonder what his Japanese voice will sound like? The music sounds promising and as catchy as ever. I'm officially stoked!

A voice is so powerful when developing a character... I know new fans playing the game for the first time are definitely going to associate NiGHTS with the female gender, whether Sega says NiGHTS is genderless or not. I think most of us grew up understanding NiGHTS to be androgynous and not leaning toward one gender more than the other, but it was easier to do that when he hardly had a voice in the game and it should be fairly easy for us to continue seeing NiGHTS that way. But less admit to it now, there are going to be people who can't accept NiGHTS as being anything but female if only because of the voice.
That being said, I'd rather this more feminine spin on NiGHTS be taken this time than a masculine one. (If only because I want to see more female leads in action/adventure games lol) It's just that, most of us seem to say "he" when referring to NiGHTS and even those horrid archie comics seemed to give NiGHTS a more masculine tilt. Maybe with JOD taking a more feminine turn, it will even things out a little and an equal number of fans will be using 'she' pronouns as those using 'he' when referring to our purple hero. XD
And of course there will be those who don't agree with me that JOD is taking a more feminine tilt than past productions and the fandom in general... but my opinion is such.
All in all I could really care less who thinks what about NiGHTS's gender nor what pronouns they choose to use, whatever makes them happy I say. Androgynous NiGHTS makes me happy, and he'll always be that way to me.

I always sleep with music on but the experience is a little different. In my dreams, I can hear the music like... pouring down from the sky haha. So instead of it really influencing the type of dreams I have... I usually can just hear it in my dreams coming from somewhere...
Sometimes it causes me to dream that I'm at a concert, or of a certain musician~ but that's about it. maybe I should try different kinds of music...

I probably picked the worst time to watch that... (or perhaps the best?)... but I completely bawled. I was NOT in the right mind frame. :\ Anyway It really touched me... the ending really left me speechless... and with runny maskara.
I know a few fans have talked about making NiGHTS inspired animations *guilty* so it was really rewarding to finally see one!

OMG that was possibly THE most satisfying movie going experience I have ever had. Tears came to my eyes, not joking. When Optimus Prime made his entrance and said his name... yeah... tears of bliss. It all just blew my mind.
I've never been to a show and had to cling to my friend's arm because of all the hardcore. We were squealing and squirming the whole time... the whole theatre was for that matter.

- Flying definitely. I'm usually flying around in dreams, lucid or not. However, its usually a very labored flight... its difficult to do or tiring... but somtimes if I'm lucid I can fly like its nothing.
- Telekenesis occassionally.
- Breathing under water. (usually I wake up and realize I have my face in the pillow haha)
- Awesome powers of flirtation where I can get any guy I want... (but that's usually true in RL too ;P lol)

Practice! The part that annoys me most is the vertical elevator shaft; I forget how to properly avoid those dropping thingies half the time.
But ya, I totally have an "A" in Stick Canyon, just like every other stage *so humble*
oooh, that's actually the only part I think I like... yeah I still always get hit by those things though. >_>; *will practice* >D

... it seems more like a giant metal flyswatter! lol The best part is if you turn back into elliot just before you get flung off at the end and fall to your unsightly death... I laugh every time. XDI actually happen to find that Stick Canyon Mare 4 is one of my favorite levels. Where else in the game can you ride a roller coaster?

For some reason, I always have ESP dreams about my car. D: Like, I'll dream that the car wont start because the battery is dead, and sure enough the next morning its dead. Or the tires will be flat, and the next morning, I find one of the tires is punctured...
I guess I really love my car haha.
I also have had ESP kind of things happen just as I wake up... usually when a pet or family member dies... I wake up and my first thoughts are of that person/pet and I feel like something isn't right... It happened with my grandpa and my dog.
