Lol so yeah, it was mentioned by Purgatory if anyone hasn't had a Lucid/Dream based off of NiGHTS. But my question is if you have met NiGHTS in the flesh...er...yeah, never mind lol. There was one time I did have what I think was an encounter from NiGHTS, but I'm still not sure. I just copy/pasted this out of my Livejournal:

I had a break threw, all week I tried to lucid dream and it DIDN'T work, not only that but I have not been dreaming at all which upset me. With the recent loss of MiDNiGHTS again, I have been down but I tried to lucid dream to see if I could see him one last time in the dream realm at our meeting place...this did not happen.
BUT I did see a strange girl...actually she looked just like any other anime girl, but she like stared at me, with shoulder length lilac hair and eyes, pretty yet sketchy. Then she kind of did a half back flip away from me and just kind of hung in the air for a while like Aura in dothack rofl. She worse a dress that was lavender with yellow trimming and gold jewelery. I think there was fading pink at the ends of the dress because they came off in points like Jackles cape. She wore gloves and boots that were real loose on her and she had MiD's earings and bells at the ends of the dress.
For a while I thought it was just some video I saw on youtube because it just felt so real, like I just watched something here while awake, but thats when it hit me that I didn't, so I was lucid. Clearly if I thought it was so real, the only way I can't be sure is because I was never in the dream, It was in first person and I didn't move, it was like a still screen.
For a while I thought it was a sending from MiD because hes leaving, so she would look over me. Then I realized she was lilac, and thought she was like a sub GEN to Dayion here to Torment me (no pun intended XP) because of the lack of MiD. Like someone was taking his place to haunt my DWEAMS T_T
Then...I was stunned. I thought of the colors....Purple,Yellow and pink. Mostly purple, Yellow trimmings and medium amounts of pink....the same color scheme as ::drum roll::

NiGHTS!

::Gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:: If I'm correct, it was just NiGHTS to help me feel comfortable, but It is also the first time in 10 years he has visited my dreams physically as himself (yes, if I'm right, I still have not seen NiGHTS as "himself", but I'm sure it was him!)
I had dreams of mention, dolls, videogames, friggin' NiGHTS themed birthday parties, but never actually HIM! Its funny because I keep saying "him" but he appeared as some cute little anime girl XD
Well anyway, I would like to thank you NiGHTS for being there in my time of need, I am also honored by your visit, not so many are lucky to actually encounter you. :3

Lol yeah I know what you mean. I honestly don't know why people make up stuff just because its a NiGHTS forum, I see similar things happen like that on Gaia and I rarely go there anymore, does it make them feel accepted or better about something? I admit I almost never feel any guilt when lying but I would never lie about my dreams lol. If anything its good to have a wide range of dreams, if you dreamed about NiGHTS every night I would think that person is a bit...obsessed lol. But hey, dreams are unpredictable, you never know. I did at one time have a dream that lasted a week and a half. Like it was like a tv show, and every time I went to bed there would be a new episode that continued from the last, it was really cool lol.

I think when it happened I was just excited because the dream was so surreal and it was the first thing that came to my mind so I stuck with it. But what makes it significant to me was that I can't really recall anything that might have triggered the dream, so it just kind of happened randomly.

I think some people have said they have encountered NiGHTS while conscious, but I can agree with you in most cases its probably not completely honest. I did have encounters with a Maren and other people, but not physically in reality...gah I don't know if that makes sense, its hard to explain and well, isn't really something I would discuss for everyone in the forums to see, no offense to anyone.

I don't think every single person who has dreamed about NiGHTS is lying, of course. But when there are an abundance of lucid dreamers who only see NiGHTS and all this that and the other thing, you have to be careful. But I don't want this topic to turn nasty! I just want to encourage anyone who is going to respond to this topic to be honest as they can. ^^ We don't want a circus going on. I haven't encountered him myself, but I've had NiGHTS-related dreams. It was either merchandise-related, like watching a TV-show, or it one of those times when I wasn't myself. If that makes sense. And even then I felt afterwards like I had played a role XD

XD yeah, honesty is key to victory! o_O;
Say if NiGHTS were to visit me however, I have no idea how I would react, I would probably get excited and lose lucidity or I could be really calm and just uh, chill with him lol. But yeah it would be hard to identify him to be actually there, or literally a figment to our imagination. If you try to dream abut him, it probably wont be the real him but if it just kind of happens without warning, theres still always the chance it may not really be him but it just seems more significant. If theres anything I can say about visitors in my dreams, there is a particular Maren that has visit me 3 or 4 times while lucid, and thats obviously MiD and he has visit me on many occasions while awake, but not in the physical realm, and thats why its hard to explain lol.

I had similar, in a fashion. I never saw NiGHTS himself, but in one of my dreams, I did wind up seeing Ideya...red and blue, actually. (Ha...polar opposites...) I honestly don't know how I'd react if I ever saw him myself. I'll know if and when I do see him, though.

I haven't seen NiGHTS face to face, but I have had a screwy game-related dream of him, and a dream of where he scared one of the things that intimidated me off. I was thankful for him doing the latter, and I'll be waiting for him to come visit me ^.^

I have seen NiGHTS, but it was sadly enough in a comatose (overexaggerating of course) 'non participating' dream. He/She was flying around and saving a group of humans and Nightopians from a Nightmaren that didn't appear in the game. I should try lucid dreaming and seeing if I could talk to him/her... but knowing my luck I might get Jackle instead and wind up being chased everywhere until I wake up .

Yay, someone else who knows about "sie/hir" and never uses them! X3 Anyway. I've seen Reala numerous times, Jackle once or twice, and even Wizeman once, but never NiGHTS. o.o A couple times I'd see people who in retrospect could've been NiGHTS, though it never felt like him.

The biggest being the first, where he came flying from an elevator and surprised me into lucidity.

Same here, I never use he/she or any form of it, its just a hassle, I'm just comfortable with "he" even though I don't see him as either he or she.

To be honest, I have seen NiGHTS in dreams before. Met, however, no ><. It was actually pretty recent. I was in this gradient-colored place when I saw NiGHTS fly around in it; Rather quickly. And then, I was back in a hall that looked like it was from my school (same design/lay-out). I looked into a bathroom and said "Oh, NiGHTS'll be here." And there (s)he was ! But...., I might have imagined the 2nd part. I REALLY DOUBT IT, but I might've. I usually see merchandise with him/her on it.

EDiT: Oh, and I've had two dreams where I've flown around as NiGHTS before ! But, I wasn't lucid in either of them.

And it wasn't really like a dream, just blackness all over the place, but I saw Reala standing in the middle of it, right in front of me, just watching me. Only he had hands like NiGHTS instead of claws and gloves. He didn't move and he didn't say anything, and he wasn't smiling....he was just watching me.

The next time it happened at night again, and the same thing happened, only with Jackle. He was just standing there watching me, didn't have his gloves on, but I could see his hands and they were still like NiGHTS's. And they both just watched me until I woke up........* shrugs*

I dualized, and he told me that I as dreaming. Didn't nelieve him, pinched myself, went to lucidity. Pretty cool.

I have never dreamed NiGHTS, although I have dreamed about dozens of other fictional characters.

Now I hope I'm not throwing some cold water here by injecting some science in this.

From what I understand, dreaming is a side effect of the brain "rebooting" itself, performing unconcious activity to prepare us for tomorrow. Dreams can include fictional characters, but only because we think about these characters. So we aren't REALLY meeting the characters, just our mental representations of them, or something to that extent.

However, on a philisophical level, this does not necessarilly mean NiGHTS isn't real. To paraphrase superhero comic writer Grant Morrison: Fictional characters may only exist in people's heads, but they're effectively immortal so long as they aren't forgotten. So who is more real?

I saw NiGHTS in my dreams only once and it's not surprising when you consider the circumstances. First, that day I was playing a lot of pinball in Casinopolis from Sonic Adventure. Later that day I got a nasty case of food poisoning and was having those freaking hot and cold flashes. Anybody who’s had food poisoning like that knows it's a royal pain going to bed since you feel like liquid crap. Well, since I was having a hard time sleeping, my dreams were really weird and one of them had NiGHTS. I remember exactly how it looked. It basically looked the same as the section in NiGHTS pinball when Sonic flies around Spring Valley and NiGHTS is dancing above the Ideya Palace. However, NiGHTS wasn't dancing so much as convulsing and instead of a blue sky background between the mountains, there were these line patterns reminiscent of Tron. I may enjoy nightmares but I really hate fever dreams.

Lol yeah, its hard to get my mind off of it but it works sometimes. Like I have so much school work to worry about now, I have 17 more school days then I'm out FOR GOOD! Its very stressful (I got GoW 2 out of the way today though, it was awesome. :3 )

I was scared of clows when I was little for no apparent reason. I can never remember why. It was not "IT" though because my mom made sure not to let me see that. I was still scared of clowns for the longest time though. I think I kinda got over it at the fair though....

I was forced to get my face painted though so that I could overcome my fear. (Actually they had to paint my arm because I woudn't stop crying. I think it was a unicorn or butterfly picture too.) I was like 5 though! I had a right to be scared.

Yet, NiGHTS never scares me though. Maybe its because he doesn't have the face paint on...

The other night, I went to bed listening to the NiGHTS soundtrack (and man did I enjoy that), and I was somewhat hoping I might have a NiGHTS-related dream. Hardly ever. I mentioned the one time he popped up (in a more humanoid form too.) It certainly wasn't in Nightopia nor was it LUCiD or a replay of a level xD For rehash purposes, it was an evil, dirty world with a 2/3rd's midget population. A cruel ringmaster-type midget tried forcing NiGHTS to torture someone, he refused.. then Purgatory jumped in on the fun twisty racks for him. A pretty cool dream, though dank and creepy.

I got that vibe as well, including the fact that everyone calls there Maren muses. I have met MiD, not literally before my eyes, but in the conscious world none the less, even before I knew about this site so I'm safe with that. I do have a muse but its not MiD or a Maren for that matter, his name is Claire and he rocks my socks

I mean, a muse can be ANYTHING that inspires you, but it is very hard for me to believe EVERYONE has a 'maren muse.
