Yeah, I agree there. Not every Nightmaren is a muse, but sooo many people seem to have one.. I wouldn't think a creature like that is something you "have" really. There's so many other creatures that these things could be (if you really have them) and it would probably be fun/help you learn more, if you look up things on dream creatures and other kinds of studies. Who knows, maybe "muse" is FAR from what should describe it.

I agree with you all the way lol. I have actually met MiD (Just in case anyone is wondering hes the Maren in my avatar...its almost kind of obvious actually, but anyway...lol) while conscious, than I have subconscious in my sleep. Its hard for me to become Lucid so he visits me from time to time otherwise. He kind of acts like an
ego", or "multiple personality" if you know what I mean.

Yeah, its also unlikely for so many Nightmaren to be so happy care-free renegades like NiGHTS. I mean, MiD is your average "I'm gonna scare the bajeebus out of you" Maren, but its possible to catch him on a good day....rarely lol. I get "special privileges" and I try not to word my sentences in a way that sounds like I "own" him...if anything he owns me XD


I wish I could meet him more often in my Dreamscape though, because then It feels like I really can be with him physically.

I don't have a muse at all. D: Shocker! If I did it sure wouldn't be a maren. I just draw what I feel like at the moment, and it has to be something I am capable of drawing. Its starting to feel more like work now really...

Anyway, I do belive there are more people out there seeing NiGHTS than we think. I know people have some far fetched dreams they claim to have, but after what I have seen in my dreams I think I can belive anything. However, I would be suspicious if they said they had these dreams every other day. Now that is just a bit much.

Well, I had an interesting dream last night. Short, but cool. All I can remember right now is it was me, TRiPPY and DiGi. We were standing in front of some sort of large pillar. NiGHTS was in front of us. The three of us were congratulating him on getting a sequel. TRiPPY gave him a copy of WTAHM, and DiGi gave him a soundtrack. Feeling bad for not having anything, I ran off and somehow ended up in my room. I nabbed the partly-colored doodle of him doing the hula with "Congrats NiGHTS!" written on it(drew it some time ago) and ran back to the pillar. I was about to give NiGHTS the paper, when he turned around, looking concerned. "Reala..?" And he flew off. TT__TT TRiPPY and DiGi left. For some reason, my laptop was sitting by the pillar. Turns out DiGi had installed three new screenmates on it. NiGHTS, Reala, and Jackle. =3 After playing with my compy for a while, I woke up. I was barely lucid, sadly. TT__TT Soooo...Yeah. It was cool! Somni was no where to be found, oh well.

There ya go. Oh, where in the forums would I post a request for someone to make some NiGHTS-y screenmates? =D

I've yet to have an encounter with NiGHTS, though that would rule! Come to think of it... I've yet to have a decent dream for several weeks T_T. I'm working on my lucidity, perhaps if I keep at it, I'll run into him/her.

I have encountered NiGHTS in my dreams also. I think it was 2 dreams i meet NiGHTS. The first 1 i dont remember much, but i think it was NiGHTS singing Dreams Dreams because i was listening to my NiGHTS soundtrack and it was on Dreams Dreams (Note: going to sleep with music on can always relax the our mood of the music). Thats all i remember in my first encounter. 2nd time I was in a sad moody way. I was depress the whole day and did not talk as much. So i just slept sad but then i was on a cliff where i can c Nightophia. I was still feeling sad on what happen to me and then NiGHTS came again! NiGHTS saw me that was sad and he tried to cheer me up. Making faces, flying around me, trying to give me stuff, still sad and didn't talk. Then he stood there thinking, then NiGHTS got an idea. NiGHTS took my hand and we were flying. I was all freak out at first like O_O" ahhh omg what the? Im flying? I mean i 've always wanted to fly and with NiGHTS now that was even better. I was having a great time flying with NiGHTS and he smiled at me knowing that he cheer me up. Then i woke up happy. ^.^
I finally get to talk bout my dream with people mainly no one is a big NiGHTS fan in my place not that i know of. Now i know i m not alone. I hope u guys liked my dream stroy. I am hoping for a next visit from NiGHTS. Maybe Reala would join in. Hope Reala will be Nice instead of being mean. Well i would like to say one more thing. Thank you NiGHTS for Cheering me up. I guess NiGHTS comes to your dream if u r sad. Any other might work i guess, but i would think NiGHTS comes to cheer people up so they can feel better when they wake up.

I remember a non-lucid dream where I was NiGHTS (or at least something that VERY CLOSELY RESEMBLED HIM) flying around over some flat land where there was some tan sand/dirt, and some flat grass, and the land suddenly cut off into a blue sky (as if the land was just a flat thing floating in a cloudless sky). I was flying around in circles, swooping down low to face blurry imitations of two of my friends in real-life. However, the whole world was kinda dull, and the flying part was really... "choppy", as if I was playing something like Half-Life 2 on a computer with... problems.

I think I had this dream a year ago, because I remember having a little blue rubber bracelet (you know those things) that said "DREAM" on it, and I was in this mindset where I was daydreaming a lot and my imagination was overactive because of it . I also had a lot of good dreams while I had that bracelet, because I would always tell myself before I fell asleep to dream. Of course, the bracelet broke a month or two after I got it because I kept on chewing on it. (I have an addiction to chewing little rubber Lego tires and other rubbery things! So what? >_<). A tiny glimpse of that dream has stayed with me since though.

Lol yeah, its hard to get my mind off of it but it works sometimes. Like I have so much school work to worry about now, I have 17 more school days then I'm out FOR GOOD! Its very stressful (I got GoW 2 out of the way today though, it was awesome. :3 )

I kind of have a clown phobia, but only of like Pennywise from "It" ::shudders:: Which I think is arguably scary in any case lol. I still never even seen those movies, I refuse!
I hate when science makes sense, because it crushes my beliefs XD Its weird that I love science yet it interferes with the other things I love I believe there is the possibility to meet "fictional character" I even think there is a fantasy realm where they all co-exist in one huge universe, I even go on to think we can (somehow) visit these places, but thats just me. O_o;

Pennywise is possibly one of the best fictional villains ever. Like the Joker with superpowers.

Just because science says there is no "dream realm" dosen't mean a "dream realm" philosophically exists. It really depends on how you define "reality", and reality can be at times subjective.

I've not really been trying but I've never actually seen NiGHTS or been NiGHTS in a dream. the closest I've gotten to recently is a few dreams I seem to be having about the JOD game. It's ages away and already I'm dreaming about buying it or watching videos of it.

The greatest one ever: Me, Sonic, NiGHTS and their friends was having a huge party and stuff but I woke up before the party was over

I think i saw both NiGHTS and Reala couple years ago(never played the game mind ya,but read alot information on it,and know the story and how the character look like blah blh ya get the point)

The strange part was when i saw them,they didn't look like the game character design much,they where dressed in there oraginal outfits(more real looking) and looked like tall lanky(damn skinny) man in tights with fancy jester hat and jacket and collars..and i remember the area around them was all rocky,like a canyon,but way atop some kinda piller(only accured to me years later,that it looked like that machine canyon lv from the game from screen shots i saw after )

anyways I remember that they where looking at me creepily and talking to eachother about somthing while standing side by side,can't remember if it was NiGHTS? or Reala that edge near me smiling mischievous and all before i woke up.

I've never seen NiGHTS in any of my dreams, I have had Flight Dreams where it seemed like I could be NiGHTS but I couldn't be too sure. Those dreams usually have me flying around a familiar part of my past, talking with old friends, and looking at things in a different perspective.

Otherwise, most of my recent dreams consist of being overrun by Cactuars and Time Travel.

No, NiGHTS is a fictional character, and to be honest, I don't dream of them often. I certainly don't believe NiGHTS "exists in the dreamscape" or whatever.

NiGHTS' agenda must be booked solid if he's visiting so many people! XD And for those who haven't seen him yet, don't give up! It took me eleven years, but I finally started to have dreams of NiGHTS! Wish I could say what triggered them - maybe the sequel announcement, but even then they didn't start right away...

In any case, I've had a few dreams where I'm talking with NiGHTS, or I catch sight of him. They're so brief though, I can't remember what we were talking about! XD Then there are the dreams where I'm playing a whole new NiGHTS game of some sort, and there was one eerily intense, almost-lucid dream where I was NiGHTS as he rebelled. Aside from that, there are the usual flying dreams, which I always adore.

But yeah, whenever NiGHTS is in my dreams, they're usually nice and happy things! I'm nervous of dreaming about Reala.. I dunno, something about him bothers me greatly. ^^;

I did saw NiGHTS several times in my dreams but most of them are the same, My very first encounter with NiGHTS was a few years ago (can't believe I remember it) it didn't get me all excited, I wasn't happy nor was I interested in him, I ignored the little purple booger and walked away. He followed me and was curious to see why I'm not happy. He did try to make me laugh by making funny faces but no results, I was very much deaf like in this dream. The second time I encountered him was he's trying to help me change my ways but I ignored him and ended waking up.
The same thing goes on until I stop dreaming of him and getting alot of Reala visits which freaked me out alot O_O

I had a NiGHTS dream when i was like.....6 years ago or something. Met up close while wandering in "dreamworld". He taught me how to control my flying better. Then there was one that i had a NiGHTS doll, not to long ago. I carried that thing all through my dream XD. Then i had a recent one from just ..2 weeks ago. More flying and playing around. Im good at dreamin with fictional characters. I dreamed of Sonic, Parrapa the rapper, Jammer Lammy, Sunny, aaand...Knuckles, (I was Cream in this one), wasnt a good dream X_X.

I have seen NiGHTS a few times in my dreams. In the first one I was NiGHTS and I had a dreamer inside of me. I also saw Claris and Elliot in that one as little cameo's.
Mostly when I see NiGHTS, he's hanging out somewhere doing something weird. I have very weird dreams. Last time I saw NiGHTS he was hanging out with the guys from the Pokemon series >.> And his suit was in orangy cream and jaguar print....
I also saw Reala once...Really weird things happen when I dream...
I also fly a lot, I don't know if that counts for NiGHTS dreams.

P.S: Why is everyone lucid dreaming down here? Is it cool? X3

I once (and only once) dreamt of NiGHTS him/her/itself.

I was sitting on an ice-skating rink. No one was there but me, for some reason I kept trying to stand on the ice, but every time I tried, I fell. I heard someone skate over to me. He asked me if I needed a hand. I looked up, and there was NiGHTS- except he wasn't in his usual outfit. He looked like a human, but with short red hair, crystalline blue eyes, a white sweater (with a pink 'diamond' pattern), and what looked like black pants (but when the light hit them, they were really dark purple). Obviously, I nodded and he helped me stand. We skated around and around, laughing our heads off every time one of us fell on their rear. It wasn't till near the end that he actually spoke again. He looked behind me and then gave me a melancholy smile. "I have to go, now." "Aw... why? We were having a lot of fun!" His eyes brimmed with tears. "I'm sorry, but I cannot stay." He let go and began to walk away. Right before he reached the edge of the rink, he turned around and looked at me again. "Thank you, though." "For what?" "For sharing your dream with me." And with that he was gone. And then I woke up. No clue what he saw behind me... ;

I know that it sounds completely sappy, but... *shrugs* After that one time, I never actually saw him/her face to face again. Once I saw 'him' a small dot in the sky, another I was in a cafe and overheard someone talk about NiGHTS as a female (which was kind of odd, but he DID look feminine), and in another I was hiding from Reala who had (apparently) just been beaten by NiGHTS and wanted to use me as a punching bag.

I hope SUSPi is nice then because that is something that I wondered about. If a muse is something that inspires someone, and its a Nightmaren, I would say you have some sort of fetish XD. A creature that terrorizes you in your sleep, its purpose to make you cry and lose all sense of security even in the innocence of sleep as a muse worries me as to what kind of person wants that lol. Claire, my muse is the complete opposite yet stereotypical in the same sense, he is angelic like and quite timid for a full grown man.

When people say a Maren is there muse I want to assume there talking about NiGHTS because he denied the pressures and laboring demands of an evil higher power that created him soly to make people miserable. He used all that negativity and converted to positivity and started helping people.

How many nice Maren can there be, isn't that like, a contradiction?

I've drawn her several times before, and dreamt of her now and then. Sometimes... she'd summon demons, dragons, dinosaurs, aliens, ghosts, etc. from the mountains in my dreamscapes. She liked to cause nightmares.

This was before I even remembered I heard about NiGHTS. But you can imagine my reaction when I saw NiD Reala a while ago (maybe 3 years). They looked similar, but the one I met had a more... human feel to her. I gave her a new name after this... but I don't think she's come back since.

Wow, thats really cool. It reminds me of a few of my dreams prior to NiD even coming out and I saw some similarities.

I also saw in a dream someone who was "Wizemans counter part" and now "The great mother" archetype is playing as the same role in the new game.

I also had a dream about the Powerpuff girls almost half a year before I even heard of them, like literally looked just like them. And the dream was about difusing a bomb in their house, the onset to the dream was something I think is stupid now but I thought of it as one of the scariest nightmares I ever had at the time. (I was like 9-10, something like that.)

But yeah, very interesting, it only helps me to believe how close we really are with Fantasy even further. :3

I would like to thank TRiPPY, DiGi, and the entire community here because for the first time in maybe 10 years, I had a lucid dream. I had a couple of them, some of them I was able to keep lucidity longer than others... but all my dreams (even regular ones) were a thousand times more vivid and I had so much freedom and control of everything, even if I didn't realize it was a dream!

Anyway in one of these lucid dreams I met NiGHTS. Take that however you want... all I'm saying is that I was lucid, went flying and ran into him in a library kinda place of all things. I guess it was because I was lucid that made this a different kind of encounter than when I usually just dream of NiGHTS or playing NiGHTS or whatever haha.

He ended up giving me a piece of paper and I tried reading it... which broke my lucidity and my dream completely changed. haha

I dunno... but I hope to start lucid dreaming again! I mean, I dream of NiGHTS often, like I dream of all my other interests... I don't think much about it. But only once have I dreamt of him in a lucid dream, and that was a short encounter. It was definitely different... and interesting... to KNOW you're dreaming... and seeing someone (anyone, not just NiGHTS) stand in front of you and act and talk at their own will and you have no control over them or predictions of their actions...

its like... this is my dream, right? I should be the one controlling everything! but things just run wild and you're unable to make any sense of it. Like a stranger in my own dream. So it makes me wonder... who are these people in my dreams and where are they coming from? How is my mind able to create these images and people and situations... without me knowing more about it?

Hoorah for lucid dreaming! I am happy that you are doing so again. My lucid dreams are still on rare occasions but I try every night. Only recently I have really been working constantly on my dream journal, but sometimes I am so sleepy I fall asleep in the middle of writing it (like last night XD) And my hand writing is sooo bad I can't read half of it anyway even though I know its better to actually write it rather than typing.

Interesting dream though, I still never met NiGHTS, just MiD and mentions of him. Thats what makes it meaningful to me that he does indeed exist, (my philosophy is really complicated and schizo like, so I'm not going to go into it >_>; ) But when he does indeed show, it will probably be for some certain reason because I always dream of things that are on my mind, and NiGHTS is on my mind most of all, so why is it that it is almost never expressed vividly in my dreams among anything else on my mind? Brain fcuk, need sleep XD
