Dreamers FM is a smash hit for some of the bored neighborhood kids. They like going "D-D-D-Drreeeaaammmersss FM!" like crazy, recording a 'show' just for fun. Heh. At least something good happened while DFM is on hiatus.

This.

And the fact that Dave Wise, the original composer, did a REMIX for the project, along with fellow Rare composers Grant Kirckhope and Robin Beanland, is unbelievable.

Edit: Oh, and just another small happy fact: I might be signing a contract on my first house today. *throws confetti in the air*

My sister and mom came home last night from Disney world. My sisters tem got third, meaning her team is now the 3rd BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY (in her division) I'm so proud!
That, and they brought back a Figment plushie for me and a new Imagineering book!

Edit: Oh, and just another small happy fact: I might be signing a contract on my first house today. *throws confetti in the air*

*throws housewarming gifts* Quick day-dream: What if we all went over to 99's new house and had a housewarming party with video game background music and lulz. I call bringing the tortilla chips!

I plan to download that remix album later this afternoon. I've actually been very interested in this project when I forst heard about it because I strongly believe the soundtrack to Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of the five greatest game soundtracks of all time and I don't say that lightly.

Isn't music great? There's umpteen million versions of the song, "Misirlou," each with a distinct style. I lean towards the Dick Dale versions, but that's just me. What is Misirlou, you ask? It's the only thing that can connect Surfers, belly dancers, and Rabbis. :D

Today I was drawing in chemistry class, and a girl I've recently been acquainted to who sits in front of me looked at it. She actually said, "Is that NiGHTS?" I was so shocked it took me a second to reply. (O.O... =D) "Yeah, it is." I went on to say how awesome it is that she knows NiGHTS, because I can't find many people in the school who do. Turns out she hasn't played any of the games or anything. She said "It's just something I've heard of." So maybe not a NiGHTS fan, but it still makes me happy that someone in my real life recognizes him. :D

That's awesome, Penelopi! ^^

Well, today is Friday! I get to play laser tag tomorrow, and hopefully get some sewing done. I'm so excited because the family is venturing to DC this year to see the cherry blossoms, and I want to wear my hand-made kimono as well. So far I haven't had too many difficulties, especially since it's silk that actually was made/brought back for me from Japan. :D

Hawaii? Sweet.

My happy thought: It's Spring Break! That's always a good thing. :P We're going tomorrow to briefly visit with our grandparents in West Virginia (they don't live there, they're just meeting us there), then we'll come back Wednesday and leave Thursday to stay overnight at Hershey Park until Saturday. @_@ Kind of hectic, but I think I'll be able to squeeze the homework and stuff in. Laptops are good things. Except for their touch-pad mouse-replacements. Those are annoying. But other than that...

Yesterday me and a group of 15 other people (from our manga club in school) went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C., specifically the Sakura Matsuri. It's the first time I've ever been, and I had loads of fun. Since so many people in the club were Kingdom Hearts fans and were cosplaying as various characters from that series, I pulled out my Aerith costume (based on her appearance in the 1st KH game) for its second use. I was a little uncomfortable at first, because I haven't ever been out around a lot of people with so much skin showing up top. I felt kind of exposed. But after a while I forgot about it. A lot of people took pictures of our 6 cosplayers (including me), including what seemed to be some of the professional photographers. O.O I've looked for some of the pictures but haven't seen anything yet. Like everyone else, I was drawn to the shops, but I only brought $50 with me, so I bought 2 Gundam model kits, one for $30 and one for $20, and that was it. XD There was a Mudkip plush that tempted me, because it was my first pokemon in my first game, but it was $42, so I passed.

Today is Record Store Day! I was at a local record store at opening and was part of the wild stampede of music fans rushing for high-demand limited edition releases. I luckily managed to snag a mysterious untitled Beastie Boys release (being two remixes), plus the new Devo single, Tom Waits, John Lennon (which I bought only for the Yoko Ono B-sides :P), AND MORE! Let me tell you, it was expensive and too short an experience, but it was great.

These last few days I've felt pretty happy, in spite of not having as much sleep as I should. Good things have happened, like my assigned preschool student in Early Childhood Ed finally giving me a hug =) . It's been easier for me to speak out in class, too. I've felt more like talking in class discussions, though I'm not sure why. It's like a restraint has been removed. Overall, I've had a lot more energy lately than I normally do. It's kinda weird, but I like it.

I don't care if it's really him or if it's someone representing him, but Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (the man who did the music for Virtua Fighter 2+3, Sega Rally 1+2, Daytona USA 1+2, oh...and a little series known as SHENMUE!) is a fan of me on Facebook. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I got a new coffee maker today, and it makes some DAMN GOOD COFFEE. It's the Aerobie Aeropress; even though it's pretty much the cheapest espresso maker out there ($30! Espresso makers can go for tens of thousands!), it also produces amazingly high quality coffee.

I've used drip machines, French press, a crappy "boiling water" espresso maker, a plastic thing that fits over a mug and you pour water directly into/stir, and the Aeropress beats 'em all.

Seriously. Damn good coffee. I recommend it to anyone who cares about taste.

I FINALLY have a working stereo system!
Well, correction, I have a working COMPONENT stereo. I've had a crappy '90s boom-box for years, but as of today I've assembled a fully functional A/V setup.
So far I have:
- Tuner (AM/FM).
- CD Player.
- 33/45 Speed Turntable.
- LaserDisc Player.
- VHS VCR (2 o' 'dem).

It's an ungodly amalgamation of components from I dunno HOW many different companies (Pioneer, JVC, Fisher, Sharp, etc...), but it LOOKS awesome, and it sounds great. I can also now consider myself a de facto audiophile.
^^ Also, I can plug my game systems into it. NiGHTS is gonna sound AWESOME.

Fancy-pants audio setups are pretty sweet IMO. But you're not a "real" audiophile until you scoff at anyone who pays less than $10,000 for speaker wire... :P I wish I could afford this Blu-Ray player that can also play HDCDs, SACDs, and DVD-Audio discs. (I would have to buy a new receiver before that... I would have to get an awesome-paying job first.)

It seems my mother has hidden the snack bars, because she gave them to my brothers and I earlier, but I don't see them in their usual spot. :( I guess it is partly my fault for eating so many of them, but I get hunger pangs an hour or so before dinner and I crave sugar... Well, guess I'll have some cheese, now.
