Ahh.... The SEGA jingle~ That made me just as happy when SEGA got Hatsune Miku to sing it at the beginning of their VOCALOID game~ Good to know they didn't forget about it....
I'm really excited to hear the music~ That's something big to me~
And anyone notice Sonic jumping in the giant ring at the end of the trailer? I wonder if they'll use the corresponding special stage or use something from 2 or 3. Maybe they'll come up with a new, hopefully not failing idea.

So...it's...a download? All this hype...for a download?

It was said to be a download since like...September.

i noticed that too, and all that came to my mind when i saw that was the terror of the vacume goals of the original sonic special stages (really, it's like sonics are their favorite snack)And anyone notice Sonic jumping in the giant ring at the end of the trailer? One other character without details? The logical assumptions would be Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a Egghead McFatso...don't ask) or Tails'.
Wonder what the 'good' doctor's plan is this time? ... Besides capturing animals for his machines and wanting to kill the Blue Blur.
...
Swatbots came to mind. Go figure. (I know they won't be in there, but an overactive imagination can go crazy with the possibilities here.)

Yeah, but it seems like it's shaping up to be the first good Sonic game in a little less than a decade. That in itself should be celebrated.So...it's...a download? All this hype...for a download?

Hello everyone!
Today we have some good news to bring you guys in regard to Sonic's running animation in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I! Specifically, we wanted to cover a topic that many of you have asked about after seeing the trailer.
Q: Is the running animation in the trailer what Sonic's fastest running animation will look like in Sonic the Hedgehog 4? It looks kind of slow, don't you think?
A: Actually, it is not his fastest speed! There is a faster animation for Sonic's running that was not shown in the trailer, and is more akin to what you might be familiar seeing from Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic CD.
So there you have it! We'll get to show you guys firsthand what that running animation looks like in the future - but until then, rest assured that there's a lot more to the game than what you saw in the trailer: running animations included.
Have a great weekend,
Ruby

...It was Hyper Metal in the OVA... Plus Metal has a tendency to not die. He's like a frickin' zombie. (Unless I'm getting my Metals confused... Which I'm sure I probably m somehow.)
Edit: Wait, I was thinking of Mecha from Sonic 2 and Metal from everything else. So...nope. Wasn't confused. Metal never gives up...
"Why can't I defeat you?"
"Because we're heroes." (or something similar in corniness)
Three games on the Death Egg... Dang. Never noticed that before. Maybe the last battle is in space. >>
Metal goes insane, attacks Eggman after enough damage is done by Sonic. BUT WAIT! To be continued in the last episode! You then defeat Metal for the final ending. Eggman has pathetic last attempt that blows up in his face. Roll credits.
...
Just a guess. XP I love the old school...

YES. Bosses of episodes one, two, and three, perhaps? It would be EPIC if SEGA put Silver, Mecha, AND Metal Sonic in the game.

However I'm expecting him to be the boss for either the second-to-last or last-last episode. It would be kind of repetitive if he was the boss five times in a row. :P

Each boss could be Eggy's new version. Clunky Siver would have less moves than complicatd mecha, who would have less moves than streamline Metal. I do see your point, but it's like in the old games- the same character is the boss, but with new variations.I would hope for the Metal Sonic as the only robot-Sonic - the others are not nearly as cool looking.

But if Metal DOES come back...maybe Eggman can give him an improvement on some decent breaks! "FFFF WALL!" *BOOM*
Would be interesting to see any old or new robo copies of Sonic. It would at least keep up with tradition.

The petition seems to be a polite one, they're not asking to remove the current model but merely asking for the option of selecting an old styled Sonic either via unlockable/downloadable content so that way the newer fans have their new version and us older generation of fans have something familiar to us too. A win-all situation, if you ask me.
Support the petition if you agree with the idea. The way i see it, no harm is being done with this idea -

Unfortunately for the trailers, there is absolutely no way to show good level design. Sure you can show cool looking parts in chunks but what does that matter if in reality there is no flow between them?
I'm still a little optimistic but dammit I want to be a little excited and I just can't. I blame Sonic Advance 3. That game was seriously every bit as good as the Genesis games.

I'm excited for the game in a sense that I'm curious to see how the game will move on from 3 in more detail, but as far as gameplay goes I imagine it'll be more of the same with some tweaks here and there. It's cool but as im not *hardcore* fan it hard for me to get insanely excited about running from A to B. I'm happy things are being subtley reinvented because its fun to point and compare.
The advance series i played to death, but i had a problem with it seeming like Sonic moved too fast for the screen and the level design was just neverending copypasta at times. It's like if i just pressed right and jumped a couple of times i could get past a level. I too hope the set pieces and general level design in this is solid.

I'm still kinda iffy on this. It was looking good at first, but they're not using the old Sonic sprite. If they're going for the nostalgic feel, that's what they should have done...
Except they said numerous times that they were taking the oldscool Sonic formula to todays times. Thus you get your classic gameplay.
