Super Street Fighter IV Discussion

Yeah, that's actually the reason. Read it on Kotaku about 10 minutes ago. Not linking to it since it just basically says what i've just said XD
And i forgot about Seth, totally. Is he at all connected to Gill and Urien or not? You dont have to give away any story points about him (i will get this game soon) but i'm just curious if they simply ripped off the character look or if there is some connection there.

Just like how more Americans bought SF2 since it included Guile right? Come to think of it what was the subtitle of that game again? World Warriors I think.Capcom explains why they've made Juri - it's because they want to appeal to Korea since they've never had a Korean fighter in the game before. Now everybody in Korea will buy it!
I can't be the only one who thinks it makes sense for a practitioner of Korea's most popular martial art to actually be Korean regardless of the motivation.
Beyond looks and most of his normal attacks, Seth has no apparent connection to the Illuminati brothers. SF4 makes absolutely no allusions to SF3. The story in general is a mess. And i forgot about Seth, totally. Is he at all connected to Gill and Urien or not?

- Guy
- Cody
- Sodom
- Rolento
- Poison and Hugo
as some kind of Final Fight package.
or
- Adon
- Rainbow Mika
- Charlie (if they're stupid enough to actually bring him back from the dead) (he's a Guile clone anyway)
- Juli
- Juni
as some sort of Alpha package.
I dunno, let's mix it up, people. Who do you think we'll get in those next 5 character spaces?

Ah, DeeJay. I missed you, man. Welcome home! Now shake your maracas! XD
Juri is growing on me even more now. What's with the purple eye though? Speculate!

Juri looks sweet. Can't wait to play her. Anyway, based on how the trailer put her up to Bison along with those purple flames she has, some sort of connection to Bison or at least the Psycho Power seems plausible. That rogue doll idea was reasonable sounding even before we saw her in action. Now it seems even more likely.
As for Deejay, I think his teeth get bigger every game he's in. I'm really glad he's present I never used him nor is he a particular favorite of mine, but just something about his character really seems to round out the cast quite nicely.

I'm still holding out on the other 5 characters but i'm expecting Alpha fighters rather than SF3 characters. Which is still cool in my book but i really do love SF3 quite a lot. Perhaps if they made a seqeul to SF3 using the same style as SF4, that would be quite nice. But anyways, i'm still loving this either way. If they're bringing Alpha cast then Guy better be in there.

Also, this article at Kotaku amuses me. Hey guys, I think I know how to improve this already interesting and unique design. Lets start from the bottom up and make her look like...every other generic martial artist ever.
Hey DiGi, when did you plan to get a 360 again?

Also, i agree. That fan who tried to make Juri look 'better' just made her look like Makoto from SF3. What's the point? XD

A young small girly boy.
And ya know what, i gotta say i would have prefered this look instead. I dunno why, i just feel the Abel we got looks a little bland. This design would have been interesting. Very 'Bridget' in some aspects but interesting.

Now Rufus is a whole different story. I love Rufus but was there seriously no other design they could have used?

I suppose not if they were going for the "fat idiot" category.

As for Able, I found his moveset fun, but I could never get him to actually do anything all that effective. Does he have a single special that's safe on block? Oh well, Iron Tager managed to be everything I hoped Able would be.
Looking at that design made me think this line: "Just what the series needs! Another Shoto!, only it's a girl!".Also, this article at Kotaku amuses me. What kind of bugs me about Rufus is how inexplicably fast he is for such a morbidly obese man. It's like that Sumo chick from KoF in reverse!
Comic relief my friend. It's called a humorous contrast.
Personally, I don't even have a problem with him being fat anymore. I just wish he had a better outfit.

Abel just has a high learning curve. Many of his specials have a specific time and place to be used and most of his big damage comes from mix-up when close and threatening with the tornado throw. The Tager comparison is also rather poor since Tager plays more like Zangief. Also, Tager is Rock bottom on tiers whereas Abel hovers around low-mid.

They better add a NF from Australia, and preferably not a Crocodile Dundee stereotype...or i'mma be pissed.
Sorry, but that's not very likely. In all my years playing fighters I can only think of two Australian characters off the top of my head. For whatever reason the country just doesn't get much representation.
In other news, Capcom announces a character announcement next week. Here's the link.
Who is Beating Up Chun-Li?
Considering the level is quite obviously supposed to look like New York, I'm prone to believe it's Alex. There's been quite a lot of demand for 3rd Strike representation and Alex was just in TvC. I suppose there is a small chance it's a Final Fight character and that the level is Metro City, but I doubt it.

Hey look at the bright side. Of the two, guys I can think of, one of them is probably one of the coolest fighting characters ever in my opinion, the character in question being Lord Raptor from Darkstalkers. Definitely one of the most popular male leads in the series for sure.

Sagat is getting buffed in SSF4.
Says who?
I don't buy it. No way the current best character in the game is getting buffed. At least not without some significant nerfs on the side.
