My sewing grandmother guru has agreed to help me with my cosplay XD but I probably won't work on it 'til this winter

did I mention walk around? I seem to recall doing a LOT of walking.. oh and there are usually some worthy raves at most conventions..

you just reminded me, 2 of my friends went to an anime con (jealous cause one got heart gold) one of them showed me a video of the 2 of them and 2 other people they stole (1 followed them from glomping, long story which i dont feel like typing on a DSi. . .) and they were dancing to caramelldansen and some other song i forget.

did i mention i hate typing on a DSi, your hand starts to cramp, so i'm stpping now

SO guess what? I completely spaced that my friend, Andy, lives out in Minnesota! Now I have at least two reasons to go! Hopefully, he'll be able to come with me when I head out there for this. Going solo is fine, but going with a con-buddy is always good too! WOOHOO!

Edit: Also trying to possibly have an OverClocked ReMix panel at the con, I subbed the form and will be trying to coordinate with the higher-ups about how it would go down. If it happens, we'd be playing some music, talking about upcoming projects *COUGH*NiGHTS*COUGH*, and answering questions about OCR and ReMixing in-general. So...we'll see. Hopefully gonna have some merch there too, if we can manage it!

I'm going to purchase my plane tickets by the end of the month... thrilling and exciting. I haven't flown in forever-ever, and I am totally looking forward to it. There's a certain giddiness about airports I get. Now, can only hope when I go to buy the tix the date and time I was planning on is still available like it was a few days ago.

To me, It's hard to desingush the difference between the Humphrey and Lindburgh Terminals XD
one time we went to Lindburgh and had to drive all the way to Humprey, not fun. Humprey dosen't have that many stores XD

Funny story. Sierra may remember this. Last Detour was held I believe mid April. On Saturday night it snowed...a lot. It stayed pretty much until the sun came up the next morning. Over night it was a veritable winter wonderland. Sunday afternoon all the snow had melted. If I took a pictures of the morning and afternoon, you wouldn't believe they were taken within hours of each other. That the upper mid-west for ya.

Do I ever. I do because I was out on the streets when it started with some friends, and were stuck on the streets till like 3 am. (Our ride never showed, then we tried to find bus which failed, and THEN we had to flag a taxi...) Wandering around the streets of St Paul at the wee hours of the morning in cosplay/convention clothes, trudging through snow..... Good times. *cough*

At least this year is in Minneapolis... and closer to the MOA.

Look for a place called Tomodachi. They sell CDs by the truckload.

Yeah, this new location is much better than last year's. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time and the Crown Plaza was a good hotel. But the fact is St. Paul isn't a city where people live or shop. It's a city where people work and there is almost nothing close to kill time with as a result.

@ andersam/zero: Don't forget the roadwork! On a forum many years past, me and another Minnesotan agreed: Minnesota has two seasons: Winter, and Roadwork.

@99: The con bug has claimed another victim. XD

The video cams/ cameras are a MUST, for the sake of the website and the enjoyment of fellow NiGHTSfans. Not to mention the awesome stuff that tends to happen there without NiGHTS. Last year I got a pic of a guy cosplaying as Dante from DMC stuck to a giant inflatable Katamari ball, not to mention some GREAT cosplays. And then my camera 'vanished'. *sadface* Moral of the story: Bring MANY cameras, and recorders too, if possible.

I've decided I won't cosplay, but I WILL make NiGHTS' hat and wear it, along with that bunny ear hat that DiGi wants. Zero would know em, they were selling them last year. Anyway, anyone want to join in/ give me tips? Cuz I have no sewing skillz. XD

Con is three months away (roughly) and my costume is well under way to being made. Yay! This is going to be so badass. By the way, all of us forum goers should absolutely raid the Mall of America. You know that weird carousel thing from the NiGHTS Into Uhhhh... page? There is one of those near the arcade. Also, log flume and roller coasters.

Well, I have some news, folks...

It looks like I will not be coming alone on my flight from Baltimore (probably). While his flight may be different, my friend David (Brushfire) is coming with me. So it's gonna be myself, OA, and Brushfire at the very least representing the OCReMix community. Brushfire is not only an anime-snob, he is one of the other co-hosts on the podcast I do (OverClocked After Dark). Having him around means that we might actually do something small from the convention, though it depends on where our recording setup resides at the time. It also means even more antics will happen when we are there.

We're getting stoked.

That reminds me, someone in our hotel room party/sharing had to duck out, so now we have an open space! Anyone who wants to party with me and other strangers AT the hotel the con is in, would have to contact me, so I can contact our room manager person.
