You're thinking of the Sonic community where something as simple as new characters and slightly different voice acting cause a stir year after year. NiGHTS, on the other hand, is a liberty of the mind. Anything goes in the land of Nightopia.

I usually have those moments when I'm scouting the web.

I spilled my drink over my keyboard and almost stepped on my cat to go clean it up laughing so hard when I saw that "Journey of Screams" pic.

I think most of us just dream OF NiGHTS because we're fans and all haha.

However, cool story I'd like to share. I used to lucid dream a lot as a child (maybe up until I was 9 or so). I hadn't had a lucid dream since. I was 18 when I started visiting this website and meeting so many inspiring people... I would like to thank TRiPPY, DiGi, and the entire community here because for the first time in maybe 10 years, I had a lucid dream. I had a couple of them, some of them I was able to keep lucidity longer than others... but all my dreams (even regular ones) were a thousand times more vivid and I had so much freedom and control of everything, even if I didn't realize it was a dream!

Anyway in one of these lucid dreams I met NiGHTS. Take that however you want... all I'm saying is that I was lucid, went flying and ran into him in a library kinda place of all things. I guess it was because I was lucid that made this a different kind of encounter than when I usually just dream of NiGHTS or playing NiGHTS or whatever haha.

He ended up giving me a piece of paper and I tried reading it... which broke my lucidity and my dream completely changed. haha

I dunno... but I hope to start lucid dreaming again! I mean, I dream of NiGHTS often, like I dream of all my other interests... I don't think much about it. But only once have I dreamt of him in a lucid dream, and that was a short encounter. It was definitely different... and interesting... to KNOW you're dreaming... and seeing someone (anyone, not just NiGHTS) stand in front of you and act and talk at their own will and you have no control over them or predictions of their actions...

its like... this is my dream, right? I should be the one controlling everything! but things just run wild and you're unable to make any sense of it. Like a stranger in my own dream. So it makes me wonder... who are these people in my dreams and where are they coming from? How is my mind able to create these images and people and situations... without me knowing more about it?

...Dreams really are crazy things. Sorry if I kinda rambled.

A voice is so powerful when developing a character... I know new fans playing the game for the first time are definitely going to associate NiGHTS with the female gender, whether Sega says NiGHTS is genderless or not. I think most of us grew up understanding NiGHTS to be androgynous and not leaning toward one gender more than the other, but it was easier to do that when he hardly had a voice in the game and it should be fairly easy for us to continue seeing NiGHTS that way. But less admit to it now, there are going to be people who can't accept NiGHTS as being anything but female if only because of the voice.

That being said, I'd rather this more feminine spin on NiGHTS be taken this time than a masculine one. (If only because I want to see more female leads in action/adventure games lol) It's just that, most of us seem to say "he" when referring to NiGHTS and even those horrid archie comics seemed to give NiGHTS a more masculine tilt. Maybe with JOD taking a more feminine turn, it will even things out a little and an equal number of fans will be using 'she' pronouns as those using 'he' when referring to our purple hero. XD

And of course there will be those who don't agree with me that JOD is taking a more feminine tilt than past productions and the fandom in general... but my opinion is such.

All in all I could really care less who thinks what about NiGHTS's gender nor what pronouns they choose to use, whatever makes them happy I say. Androgynous NiGHTS makes me happy, and he'll always be that way to me. *sugarfluff*

I love watching this stuff 10-15 years later and catching stuff you never caught as kids. You take a totally different perspective on the shows!

OMG that was possibly THE most satisfying movie going experience I have ever had. Tears came to my eyes, not joking. When Optimus Prime made his entrance and said his name... yeah... tears of bliss. It all just blew my mind.

I've never been to a show and had to cling to my friend's arm because of all the hardcore. We were squealing and squirming the whole time... the whole theatre was for that matter.

And BumbleBee is so love worthy XD. <.< .... >.>.... Am I the only one who felt like crying during those "certain" scenes with BumbleBee? ^^

ABSOLUTELY. He's got those big bumblebee EYES. XD They melt you.

I think its a great voice. Definitely not some atrocious thing that it could have ended up being haha. Like everyone else, I had a different idea in mind all these years. A more childlike voice... definitely more androgynous, but I'm sure I'll get used to this one.

Oh... and anyone else wish the Maren would speak jibberish language + subtitles rather than an actual language? You know like "Simlish"? lol

But I'm loving the accent too. I wonder what his Japanese voice will sound like? The music sounds promising and as catchy as ever. I'm officially stoked!
