Huh. I thought they did this a while ago, something meant to be released alongside JoD? I suppose that doesn't matter now, it's coming for the PC and I finally have the means to play it without using an emulator~
You're probably thinking about the Japan-only PS2 version.

And my ps3 blu ray is broken so thank god its a PSN download.
Hopefully they include a online features like a leaderboard or something
Edit: Nevermind it does

Indeed I am. I thought that one was an international release, but I suppose not.

HAPPY. HAPPY BEYOND WORDS.

Seriously though. GOD YES. YES YES YES YES YES.
I am so frigging psyched it's unreal. Where once people had to hunt out a Saturn and copy of the game, now NiGHTS can be enjoyed by MILLIONS at the touch of a button. NiGHTS is perfectly suited to the XBLA/PSN environment, and I just know it's going to do well, especially off the back of Jet Set Radio launching summer too.
If SEGA can keep up this digital revival, I'm sure things will work out for them in the long run.
But for now, glorious NiGHTS int Dreams HD. Community, this was down to you. I can't thank you enough.

Oh well, I suppose I'm pretty glad anyways. I'm really excited that it's being released on the PC as well! Hopefully someone will take a look into hacking it, though at the least it'd be neat to take a look at the files.

I rarely use this account, but this golden event drew me out of hiding. My joy can literally be converted to electricity potent enough to power 100 third-world cities for ten years right now.

The story behind you working for SEGA and how fans made this happen is actually very inspiring. NiGHTS has a whole new meaning for me now. Thanks.

someone above mentioned leaderboard?

Is this a port of the PS2 version or is it it's own thing? It appears to have a lot in common: graphics, Saturn mode...
Based on what I'm seeing with graphical comparisons, it's hard to say. Aside from the 16:9 aspect ratio, the HD screenshots thus far look a fair bit better than the PS2 port graphics.

Does anyone know though, if there are any plans to port Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams as well? Maybe released near Christmastime?

Speaking of Christmas NiGHTS, I was playing Sonic into Dreams when I had an idea that may or may not have been inspired from Sonic Robo Blast 2. What if, instead of having Sonic just run around the level, have him go Super when he goes inside of the Ideya Palace, allowing him to fly around like NiGHTS. Also, have Metal Sonic replace Reala for Sonic's version of the boss fight, similar to how Santa Eggman replaces Puffy. The character models from Sonic Generations could be used, but they might have to be watered down a little since this is a download game.

I hope this comes to the WiiU. Normally, I'm not the kind of dip who buys the same game twice, but I will be getting this on XBLA when it comes out, then again for WiiU if that's a thing. I lurve you, NiGHTS.
Also, with both NiGHTS and Reala playable in Transformed, I guess I'll have to buy that, too. SEGA, you'se bleedin' me dry.

Congrats guys!
However, I do believe this 'HD remake" is merely the PS2 version ported. It looks pretty much the exact same textures as the PS2 version.
As for HD, anything can really be HD quality. I've played NiD PS2 on my crazy powerful laptop in HD quality, so it's not exactly hard to make and HD version. Simply put, the PS2 was just limiting its ouput. Now, if they replaced the textures/sounds or added filters, then yes, it is more than a port.
Also, considering I played the emulated PS2 rom on a moderately fast computer a few years ago with HD settings, the PC requirements shouldn't bee too intense -if it's ported correctly-.
Anyways, just my thoughts/input.

I do hope they add achievements plus the versus option they removed in the PS2 version.

Well Think about it. For some reason the PS2 was far from perfect when compared to the Saturn. For one, Gilwing cannot be paralooped correctly. When you stop flying on Saturn like let go of the stick Nights slowly stops his glide, while on the PS2 he seems to almost hit a wall. The camera on Puffy was a little jacked up when you flew in front or when you spun around her, making aiming a little nightmare of its own...no pun intended. There's a few other things I cant recall right now. Those can not be fixed because PS2 games cannot be updated. Here we have a HD remake which hopefully will have those issues fixed and even if there not, updates can be made. so....its groovy! OH! one more thing, not all of us can import Japanese games. This gives it to everyone without the importing misadventures.

I suspect things like that will get hacked into the PC version regardless though, its one reason I fear I may end up buying this game on every platform.
