What they mentioned about controls sounded suspiciously like Mindsight.. but it seems a bit different, and hopefully better
Spinning attack..

Seeing as it's a straight Japanese title they've used, "Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea", anybody wondering if this will even make it out of Japan? Just a thought.
As for the game, i'll agree with the Panzer Dragoon look of it, it's certainly giving me that vibe too. Which is not a bad thing. Not sure i'm too keen on the control style though, what with the previous experience with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams not working at all well.
And i can understand why Naka seems to only want to release titles for Nintendo consoles (what with Nintendo being the biggest name in Japan) but i was really hoping he might do a multi-platform release on this. I know he mentioned he was using some kind of innovative game mechanic and part of me wondered if it was heading for MOVE and Kinect so seeing his next game end up on the Wii again is really kinda dissapointing.
Rodea as a character looks nice enough, your stereotypical anime kid with a female supporting character, with another third party character faded out in the background. We've seen it before but i guess if it ain't broke then don't fix it, really.
All in all, i was hyped much more before i found out this was a Nintendo game again, though i'm still eager to see how this one turns out. It is Naka after all, it should be a nice game at the end of the day.

The only thing on my mind after seeing that is what's with the yellow lines? I'm not complaining but I'm seriously curious as to why they appear.

From watching the video, it would appear you don't actually get to fly completely freely in the game. Instead, using the Wiimote pointer, you point and click on a solid surrounding, and your character boosts off and arcs to that destination. You need to keep pointing and clicking on different areas to stay in flight it would seem. It's more apparent on the boss fight at the end.
I think the game looks alot of fun. I'd love to get to play it, but something tells me this might be destined for Japan only : (

Did that trailer say this was also going to be on 3DS? If so I see it having problems, especially if it ends up having to compete with that new Kid Icarus game.

The trailer, while interesting, didn't really ignite my passions.
I'm just going to wait and see before I get excited. Especially since I don't own either console it's for. (But I'll probably end up owning a 3DS at some point down the road.)

So between this, Dreamcast collection on 360, Ico rerelease on Ps3 and a few other things there seems to be some great gaming in store for 2011.
Theres also another interesting concept for Wii called Earth Seekers or somethingl ike that.

Ha! My poor sense of humor aside, this looks pretty good. I'd play it.
I only worry about the combat being clunky... but so far it looks pretty solid.

NiGHTS and Skies of Arcadia vibes, definitely. Looking forward to when we can get a price and release date for Rodea.

Western release confirmed: http://gematsu.com/2...oming-west-fall
As for the Wii version...
UPDATE: According to a NIS America representative, the company wants to include the Wii version as a pack-in with the Wii U version (like the Japanese version), but cannot confirm right now.
