I'm not that well acquainted with the Dr. Strange comics but Dormammu looks pretty badass in this game. Can't wait to give him a spin. Also, even though I know this a fanservice vs. game, Dormammu's presence is hilarious. He's literally one of the absolute strongest entities in the entire Marvel universe, on the same level of power as cosmic entities like Galactus.
Joe looks about the same as in TvC.

It looks like Dormammu has an infinite going on there...

News bits:
Apparently there is a configurable control scheme; MVC2 style or TVC style, or something
Human Torch was in one build, but ate so much memory he had to be scrapped. Same reasoning is why Darkstalkers characters are limited in number.
More characters to be revealed soon
And now there's this in regard to infinites (taken from this interview- http://www.gaminguni...view--2651.html )
"GamingUnion.net: Ouch. How do you guard against infinite combo loops?
Seth Killian: With Marvel v Capcom 3 we have a few built in fail-safes. So one is something called damage scaling, it does less and less damage with every hit.
But there is also other stuff that we're experimenting with - it starts to get pretty arcane. So something like hit stun decay. Which is to say, normally if I walk up to you and do a fierce punch it does x amount of damage and x amount of stun and you recoil in the same frames, but there's one system we're playing around with - which is not final at all - where the longer a combo goes on, the less stun any of those hits do.
So basically, the way you reel after getting hit with a fierce punch, you start to reel less and less. So the same loop is possible for a few times, but then it starts to degenerate. Eventually, you run out of options."

Tron Bonne as good as confirmed.
New trailer
Damn Cap is so badass in this one. Trish can still piss off. Her inclusion still bugs me and I doubt that's going to change.

Yeah, Cap had a bad ass moment in that trailer. And i agree over Trish as well. Seems a waste of a character, can't figure why they chose her out of such a massive catalogue of characters.
Regardless, trailer is awesome.

So much Trish hate ;_;

It's not a matter of liking her for me. It's a matter of her being a wasted slot. Devil May Cry only had one possible representative that mattered and he was confirmed early. Trish just comes off feeling like fluff. Considering how many intellectual properties and franchises Capcom possesses that could use representation, having two representatives from Devil May Cry seems like a waste especially considering the only fighting Trish ever did was shooting lightning. If Capcom was going to build a character from scratch there are much better choices.
I've been pretty happy with roster pic thus far. Some have had me scratching my head a bit though I understand their inclusions but the only one I shake my head in disapproval of is Trish...so far anyway.

New character- Marvel's X-23

Posted 16 September 2010 - 08:42 PM
Meh. They could have done worse but they could have done a lot better too. Nothing against X-23. I think she a good enough character. Just seems that having two claw slashy-slashy types is a bit of a waste. Whatever. I'll just consider her the Sakura to Wolverine's Ryu if you know what I mean.

Spider-Man and Wesker confirmed.
TGS Character reveals
Good picks I think. Spider-Man was a given obviously. Wesker is actually a good pick I think. Although again I'm slightly irked by another series getting multiple reps, it's a lot easier to let him slide because he obviously fights radically different from Chris but more importantly he's a good villain rep from Capcom's side. Not to mention Wesker is just badass.

I guess i'll have to actually be sitting down and playing this game once it's out, but the most recent few character reveals have not been blowing me away. Probably partly due to half of these characters i've never played the games of. Some of the choices seem ...weird, i dunno. But this is Capcom, i expect the big guns to be hidden away until the game is closer to release.
Still looking forward to it though, the obvious fan service is great.

Is it true there's only 2 Marvel slots left? Storm is kinda confirmed already, so that means only one more, I've heard Cable tossed around.. no Gambit doesn't seem like a smart move.. and still no Nightcrawler huh..

Where did you hear this from? Before the recent reveal I could have sworn somebody (Maybe Seth Killian?) said roughly half the cast had been revealed. I'd imagine we have many more than just two more Marvel characters.

Seriously, if there's only two more slots left then that would be somewhat of a let down. o.o

Only from someone on the Sega forum, and I haven't counted up the roster myself. So hopefully it's completely unsubstantiated, as it oughtta be.Where did you hear this from? Got to play MVC3 at NYCC today anyone heard about this 'x factor' thing in the game? You glow red, hadn't noticed anything about it.
Also, met Niitsuma briefly as he was leaving.

MVC3 rumor alert (quoted from defunct article):
"Bison and Viper are the final Street Fighter characters.
Strider is back.
Haggar is finally a playable character.
Classic Mega Man is back.
Zero is back from TVC.
Roll is NOT a playable character."
Ooh, Spidey's black costume is in

I'd be happy if there was more than ten left to reveal, but 36 does seem pretty fair.
One of them has to be Mega Man...

Complete that Final Fight line-up with Poison and you've got yourself a deal, Capcom. An almighty deal.

Okay...
Well sure the combos might stop doing damage over time but it's still an infinite and that means you can probably get beat into a Time Up.

This is a weird occurrence for me because these additions both please and disappoint me.
Zero - I love Zero to death but I really really wanted to see someone else in this game as the X series rep. X himself would have been ideal but Sigma or Vile would have been cool too. Also, Zero better be toned the f*** down from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. He was so utterly broken in that game.
She-Hulk - If they're trying to avoid making this game a sausage fest She-Hulk is a much better addition than X-23. I'm glad to see her on the roster and I like the character a lot but damn if watching her in action wasn't a total snore. I'm sorry, but I thought movelist looked so incredibly boring.

Day one DLC.
*sigh*
Unless, of course, you get the Limited Edition ($70.00) in which case you get a code to redeem along with an artbook and some other stuff.

A shame we got Felicia instead of Donovan. I love Felicia but Donovan is such a raw badass and one of the coolest fighter designs ever. He should have had a turn. Last time I think I saw him in anything was effing Super Puzzle Fighter. Seems whenever Darkstalkers characters are used in crossovers the Ladies are always front and center. Give the dudes a fair shake for once guys.
