If it is $10 and a whole normal Sonic game, I won't complain. But it better be more than 3 levels at least or charge less...
Why are gaming companies assuming that everyone in America, Japan, and Europe are all so well along that no matter where they are they have super fast internet connection and download EVERYTHING?! Hell I know some really popular places that still have horrible wifi! And it isn't just like someone can walk into a coffee shop and hook up their wii for WiFi. >> "Don't mind me. Just trying to download a game here."

I'd still prefer they'd stick this game on a collection disk or something... coupled with Chaotix... now THAT I would buy...
I can dream...

Making a Sonic The Hedgehog 4 is pretty random and SPOCIOUS. But this game looks overly modern for that role. And the graphics from the trailer aren't the most convincing. I really would prefer if it SEGA used old-school sprites to make the game. That way it would look more like a Sonic 4.
The game could be good, but it's overly promoted. This can't be considered a return to form for Sonic if the last handheld games weren't-

There is leaked video of the alpha version of this game on 1UP, TSSZ News, and some youtube videos. See them now because they probably wont' be around long.
-Edit-
I was going to say what I saw but seeing as Sega employees read up on this place a lot...I better not. Just lol at Sonic having issues with a loop. (A glitch I am sure they will fix. But it is still funny.)

Do we like or hate that Dimps is in charge of S4 and not Sonic Team? (funny that they're using a doctored picture)

I have no problem with this. The handheld Sonic games have been the best the series has seen in the past decade. My only beef with Sonic Rush was that it was too easy to fall to your death.

well, if you look at where it says what it's for, you'll see "Playstation network, xbox live arcade, wiiware, ???"my only issues with it being DLC is you cant take it around with you to play at a friends without lugging the entire console, and because it's virtual we have no box to hold or manual to read. ah the smell of a new game
comparing the empty box, it looks it will either be for the DS or the DSiware

I don't feel this should be called Sonic 4, personaly.
I'll play it before i judge the ever loving crap out of it but from what i've seen since the leaked gameplay videos and the trailers went online i ain't feeling the 'nostalgic' essence that i should be from something that's being called 'Sonic 4'.

It's like this Sonic 4 thing, they didn't want to use the old version of Sonic because his look has been updated now in modern games. Why does this game need to be targeted at the modern Sonic fan in general? Just make this game FOR the people that have been asking for old school Sonic action and leave the modern day stuff to the modern games like Unleashed and the storybook series.
I hate to bring up Nintendo but look at how they're working things. Stuff like Mario Galaxy take a new spin on Mario however they're still making Mario games in the old school style which sells to the old school Mario fans.
Simples.

It seems to be the case, and I kinda hope I'm not wrong on this, that most of Sonic's 'fail' games were produced without a full sense of passion from the team making them.. most of Sonic's problems have been completely avoidable (Werehog, for example, which killed Unleashed's chances of critical success), unfortunately it just seems that Sonic Team just doesn't have the same smarts, or support from Sega that Mario's people have. Look how long it's taken for Galaxy 2 to come out, if only Sega would let Sonic games be made with the same level of care. Instead of throwing Sonic into random gameplay cliches, they need to keep focused on what makes Sonic special. They've really been quite frustratingly dense.

Also, there's an interview with Iizuka that confirms Tails and Knuckles for ep. 2, apparently. Also confirms Spin Dash and rolling attack for this game

"Iizuka: “Sonic 4 is a brand new title and not a remake,” adding “I’d say this title will be the best one for players who feel they cannot keep up with recent Sonic titles.”"
'Cannot keep up?' That's odd phrasing.. I get the sense Iizuka doesn't realize the faults many of the recent Sonic titles have. Like, he doesn't see them as problems. Wonder how he'd address what we feel are JoD's main faults. Do we need Naka to slap you around a bit, Iizuka?
Also it seems there won't be any classic Sonic model in these games.

"Other notables from the interview include Hayes’s commitment to “reinvest in our core franchises,” and that there are announcements coming for this year’s E3 expo, but would not elaborate on what to expect–at least in this portion of the interview. This is a two parter, and more may be revealed when CVG publishes part two. We will keep tabs."
Please, please let that include our beloved jester. Sadly it's hard to imagine Sega considering him a ''core'' franchise right now, but we can hope..

Still, never say never. There's always hope.
As for Sonic though, i see Mario & Sonic going places. They wouldn't let it end with the Olympics. They're on a little earner now, i see that series continuing for a while.
I'm actually really glad they mentioned the 'All-Star' series. Could this mean we have more coming from Sumo Digital? If so then can i get a HELL YAAAYAH!!! XD
If more All-Stars are on the way then NiGHTS will be there, at least. After this fuss we kicked over ASR i know they won't want this drama again. I'm pretty confident that any new All-Star game will have NiGHTS in.

Site update, Splash Hill Act 1 music is up for download!
One thing I'll say about the music, it sounds nice and happy fun, just hope there might be more to the loop than that, because it loops way too early. I just compared it to Green Hill, at 35 seconds Splash Hill loops already, and by that point Green Hill is just moving into its second phase, if that makes sense.

That certainly is curious logic. I can understand wanting to make the game as affordable and accessable as possible, but did they not take the several rerelease sets into account? I'm not complaining in the slightest, but the quote stuck out as peculiar...

It irks me that there are these apparent physics issues... I just ask, why?? Why can't Sonic feel and jump exactly like he did on the Genesis? Why?
