The taunting affects everyone differently, so Knux might go berserk before Tails. It goes vice versa for the opposing team as far as taunting from a cameo goes, but it's still cool."

And thus the idea for the next All-Stars game was born. XP But seriously, I like the rage meter idea. A bit of a rough idea, but it has potential I think. Pfffft. lol Dissing the other team in a soccer/football match. XD

But seriously though, remembering one of S0L's interviews he mentions one guy wanted to get his music in the game and S0L helped them get it in there. I think he might have been refering to Bentley Jones here, which is cool! This game really is all blends of UK flavors. Me and Lev's gotta get at Sumo with some music next time, who knows we may get lucky, haha! XD

I wonder what the next AllStar game will be though. It's either going to be football, a fighting game ...or ...what else is there, really? XD;

Wait a minute, am I missing something? Banjo-Kazooie are SEGA's? O.o I thought they were Nintendo/Rare. (I think recent developer is Rare.)

They're made by Rare, but Rare was bought by Microsoft, last I checked. And on top of that, this is all going by the leaked Sega documentation from their meeting with Song which included bullet points about DLC platform-exclusives in Sega titles, as well as the leaked cover art for the SASASR 360 version. So since it's the art on a Microsoft system, and Rare is owned by Microsoft, you can see how the connection is made.

So for Nintendo, I'd bet they'll do Mario and Donkey Kong (both Nintendo properties) on the Wii/DS
and for Sony, it'd probably be Crash Bandicoot (made by dev's Naughty Dog, a Sony subsidiary) and maybe Jak/Daxter for the PS3/PSP.

This is the same brand-division that happened to Soul Calibur 2...*sigh*

If that sort of thing does happen, I do believe we can all kiss our respect for SEGA good-bye. Particularly if they still leave NiGHTS out, since that means they like other companies characters the same as or more than their own, which equals desperate for money.

Well the major problem comes from the degree to which one feels torn about Sega. They treat many of their old IPs like crap, continuously mucking up the name with new ventures while banking on releasing "classics" collections on every platform known to mankind, but they get good and earnest teams like Sumo to makes for them sometimes, which lends to the degree of Sega's credibility as a publisher. Sorry if this all sounds confusing, but I'm all for them making money THE RIGHT WAY: through fanservice, quality gameplay, and appropriate marketing and development decisions on the managerial level. The moment Sonic and Mario crossed that line and appeared in a game together, that was warning 1 of the path Sega was planning on going down. I have lots of respect for the good developers, and the concerns Sega tries to take with their community, like the community blogs, but none of that makes up for the fact that Sega is essentially still doing much more harm than good with the old-school crowd of loyal followers to classic IPs.

Exactly. It's an issue most game companies have, SEGA, Nintendo, etc. etc. Actually I suppose most companies do it now-a-days. They constantly claim that they're appealing to the 'New crowd.' That's the excuse for everything when fans get annoyed. Nobody seems to understand that the new crowd doesn't care. Their opinions will be shaped by what you give them, no matter what, so if you continually downgrade something you eventually wind up with lots of angry old scorned fans, little money in your pocket, and the annoying army of new fan girls/boys that you helped create in the first place that will eventually grow out of you and take their wallets with them.
By starting to deviate from their own IP, SEGA's setting itself up to be disintegrated. Sure it'd take a long time, but if crossed company appearances continued they'd eventually just be a mediator of party games between other franchises. Not to mention the whole Sonic/Mario rivalry joke was shattered by that Olympic game. The choice to include Mario was obviously a money-grubbing one; the game would have worked quite fine with just Sonic characters (Though I might just say that because I loathe Mario.)
I agree about the separate developer thing. Sumo appears to have done great; Lots of fan service, very pretty, and the game play looks awesome. I think Bioware did great with Sonic Chronicles as well. Again, lots of fan service, and the game was quite fun. It was probably the only time I've ever been able to tolerate Amy. But Chronicles does lose massive points for obviously ripping off the Sonic comics, which conflicts with the whole 'original' thing.
So if SEGA can learn to welcome outside sources that aren't IP used to shift units, but instead new developers and the fan word, and if they do away with this whole ‘Relying on something new to bail them out.’ thing, there might be hope for the companies sullied name. If not, well, we all know where Disney Channel went.

I'm not hopeful for SEGA and marketing, though. They've never been good at it. Actually... Looking back, a lot of their ads were quite disturbing. From that guy painted white who monologues and flared his nostrils at you, to creepy whispers and the throwing of Play stations out windows.

Whoa whoa whoa... that is 100% incorrect. Sony/Naughty Dog NEVER owned the Crash Bandicoot series, and Insomniac/Sony never owned Spyro. Those characters have always been owned by Universal Studios since they were first concepted; hence why they have been multiplatform since the PS2 era because Sony's contract with Universal broke loose.

Way too many people make that mistake. It's like saying Nintendo owns Mickey Mouse for publishing a few Mickey Mouse games. It doesn't work that way.

Now that's friggin' hilarious. That's like falling out of a tree and grasping for the littlest branch to hang on to in terms of desperation to see something NiGHTS-y in there. It could honestly just be a cartoon of a bald guy with a yellow neck hardness who's about to go on a roller-coaster, it really is just nothing at all. Still, gotta give credit to creativity with interpretation. Just reminds me of the results of Rorschach tests.

Now that I see it more, I'd love to see a Streets of Rage character in there throwing one of those chicken sprites at another car, that'd be too funny.

I can think of a few good reasons, but most are illegal XP And yes, I'm a fan of both series, but you can't deny that certain 'Brick wall' mentality most Sonic fans exhibit.
