I first came acrosss NiGHTS when I was like, five and in a god awful daycare where no one liked me (everybody say awwwwww) except one kid, who brought in his saturn and NiGHTS. He pretty much forced me to play it as I had NO interest in Video Games at the time. I played it, loved it, and promptly forgot about it.
Sonic had NiGHTS cameos, but I only REALLY remembered the game when I saw early gameplay vids of Journey of Dreams. I hadn't been long, but it's all coming back to me now. *brick*
Anywho, I like the Gothic Archies (Lemony Snicket fans should know what I'm talking about), a band described as "Goth bubblegum pop", Enya, an Irish singer (check her out- her celtic-inspired music is ranges from ominous to incredibly soothing, and is ver NiGHTSy), and dark humour.
Drawing NiGHTS is a hobby of mine, although every time I draw Elliot he looks REALLY effeminate and made out of rubber.
I'm a long time reader of the boards, but waited untill now to join, so yay me for finally getting around to it!

Hello, and welcome. Enya's one of my favs to listen to for the same reason as you: it sounds very dream-esque. I can't pick out the lyrics most of the time, though. Part of the reason would be that some are in...Gaelic? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I know at least that the other language is the one used back in Celtic Ireland.
Hi there! Enya's songs are wild- her early ones are in Gaelic, some are in latin (Cursum Perficio springs to mind), some are instrumental (The First of Autumn), the ones she did for "Lord of the Rings" are elfish, and on the Amarantine album some songs are in Loxian, a language created by her lyricist, Roma Ryan. Then there are ones (Boadicea) that are just her humming, lolz!
Nice to see another Enya/NiGHTS fan! Yay!

Youtube is the source of all the world's love and affection. (or not). The Gothic Archies aren't Marilyn Manson Goth, but their songs are kind of odd. The often cover dark topics (like how dangerous and scary the world is), but they have an upbeat tempo. The jokes and puns are hilarious too- In the song "this abyss" there is the line "even in your bedroom shadows/ there is something moving" the spooky subject mixed with the serene song is pretty funny. One song uses a kazoo, xylophoe, and accordion. It's a bit of an "aquired taste", but can be quite funny. And none of the proformers wear creepy make-up. Think gruesome songs sung by Aqua, the barbie girl band.
