Twilight: Love it or Hate it?

...and it's not just emo gothtots who love these books. My aunt enjoys them, but for the fact that they're a simple read and very... eh. I dunno. The story is apparently crack when you read it without looking for flaws. As my best friend put it: reading Twilight is like a really bad, impulsive one night stand that you wake up from and go "what did I DO?".

The fact that the vampires sparkle ALONE tells me that this lady is on all kinds of terrible LSD.
Sunlight + Vampires = Burning, terrible death or, in Dracula's case, weakening.
Sunlight + Vampires DOES NOT EQUAL (can't make the symbol...) OMG GLITTERGLITTERSPARKLESPARKLE I LORVE YOU FOREVER

PS I agree with everyone on the vampires shouldn't sparkle bit... the only ones who should be allowed to do that are Major Armstrong (FMA), Teddie (SMT:P4), Tinkerbell, and a couple of the boys from Ouran Host Club.

Anyone hear about the Twighlight fangirl who fired a FLARE GUN at someone who criticized the book within earshot of her?

John Doe: I don't really find Twilight to be an engaging publication, if I do say so, myself.
Fan: WTF HAX -flaregun pwn-

People who take a book that seriously are... Ugh. I'm sorry, I have a literary obsession of my own (yes, I would go so far as to call it that, lawl), but I won't attack or become outraged at the idea of someone not liking it. Mine is, however, better written and more interesting (even if the translation is awkward because it's so direct).

I've been prone to mental flare gunnery, but I'd never shoot someone over a book! I'll agrue about why you're wrong if I'm in the mood, but...wow. Stephanie Meyer must love this.

Yeah. Marketing is in her favour, to say the least.

Oh, and some workers over at the local plasma center (blood bank) love the saga. Seriously, it's like they'll defend it tooth and nail.
"Oh poor Bella!"
"Bella is blah blah blah."
"We love Edward."
"Watch New Moon while we take your blood."
Ugh. Grown women, man. Seriously, what the heck?

Yeah, I know. It irritates me so much when the librarians at our school endorse Twilight. I know they do it only because it's popular and gets people to read who usually don't. Faithless women. They fawned over Eragon just as much, and I didn't think that one was the best, either (though still way above Twilight). The "books" were published fairly quickly. Plus it seems that they're cutting corners during shooting.

I was hoping that after all the movies come out, Twilight will fade away, but now Meyer is releasing a new novella for the series...I just want to bang my head on something, thinking of how much longer she can drag the series on in this way.

The characters are terrible, the writing is worse, the acting is even worse than that, and it makes no sense. Most importantly, do they people working on it have any idea what a steadicam is? I'm getting seasick...
She is! I've never seen anyone with less of a personality."Bella is blah blah blah."
Ugh, she's running out of times of day and phases of the moon. What's next? "Waning Gibbous"? "High Tea"?I was hoping that after all the movies come out, Twilight will fade away, but now Meyer is releasing a new novella for the series...I just want to bang my head on something, thinking of how much longer she can drag the series on in this way.

What manga? o.oLoved the Manga. The Movies are Good.
Edit: Okay, Googled it. Guess I still live under a rock. Haven't seen it anywhere on the shelves where I am...Or have I? Now I wanna say I say something called Twilight and brushed it off because a lot of things share that name. Whether it's there or not, though, I think I'll pass.

That's Pretty Much What I Thought Bout the Manga Before the School Library Got it and I Read it For the Heck of it to See What the Big Deal Was With the Entire Twilight Series. The Manga Was Very Good Actually. You Might Like it.

"The real difference is that Joe Rowling is a great writer and Stephanie Myer can't write worth a darn. She not very good," Is the Stephen King quote that comes to mine for the book, and the movies... For me just as good as her writing. Rushed, I think.

Never read it, never watched it, never plan to.

And yet in Anime and Mangas like Chibi Vampire, Moonphase, Vampire Knight, and such they can be out in the sunlight without dying or burning, or weakening.

That actually doesn't bother me too much. In fact, Dracula in the original novel walks around in the sun; it was the 1922 film Nosferatu that made sunlight bad. The idea of sparkling, though? That's downright campy. And yet in Anime and Mangas like Chibi Vampire, Moonphase, Vampire Knight, and such they can be out in the sunlight without dying or burning, or weakening.

WHO THE BEEP!! That's just wrong on so many levels. Just cause someone hates a book doesn't mean they should get blasted in the face cause of it! Crazy people. This world's messed up enough as it is. It doesn't need this stuff now.

I don't have a problem with it either. I Find the fact a Vampire can walk around in broad daylight & not spontaniously implode, explode, and/or combust quite interesting and amusing.

Verdict: bored me to beyond tears
It droned on and on about all this Bella crap and how mysterious Edward was, I wasn't even near the middle of the damned thing when I gave up.
But I suppose that Meyer had a target audience in mind which was probably pre-teen/girls girls because it this stage you're new to the whole love situation and I suppose the whole idea of a fantasy relationship would be attractive to that stage in life.
To be honest the book to me was the equivalent a stereotypical Sonic fanfic on FF.net; dull, full of someone's immature dreams, badly written, unfairly glorifyed and dumbed down the main character's potential in favour of someone with the mental capasities of Chris Thorndyke.
If you want something better to do with Vampires read Bram Stoker's Dracula or the twisted Tara Gilesbie's fanfic My Immortal (though at your own risk as it isnt a K rating, if you know what I mean)
