I do. The bosses have no personality or importance at all to me. These creatures are supposed to be like siblings or friends to Nights but without any interaction of any type it seems like Wizeman created these demonic looking muppets to recapture Nights and nothing else.

I wouldn't go as far to say "friends" and I doubt they have much of a "sibling" relationship

But I do agree that they need some personality... at the very LEAST an introduction... but not something so long that it would drag the whole story down... then again I suppose you need to HAVE a good story for it to be able to be dragged down... *looks at JoD*

An introduction of some sort would be nice. No monologues, especially if you can't skip it. There's nothing worse than to lose a battle and having to sit through a cutscene again and again. No, a one-liner like Reala's intro in NiD should be enough.

Hmm, I would think maybe a short intro, but probably one you could skip after your first failure. Ugh, that brings back memories of Bomamba...you gotta sit through that cutscene over and over and over and over and over....

That would be a good idea because there's nothing I hated more than when I had to fight Maleficent in KH 4 times and each and everyone I had to sit through the intro scene everytime.

No. I don't think it would be a good idea. I didn't like the fact that voice acting was introduced to JoD in the first place.

We get enough of that in the Wizeman battle. "I will banish you!" Ring a bell? No? How about "SINK INTO THE DARKNESS!!!"

Personally, I thought the laughs that some bosses would give off in NiD were enough. Along with the only line spoken in the game, which was, "There is no NiGHTS", spoken by Reala.

I think Reala and Wizeman are the only bosses that should talk. But they should talk more, at least during the fights. Reala and NiGHTS could have a whole argument going as they fight And Wizeman could put NiGHTS down as they fought, .

I really don't see the need for bosses to talk. They really have no story moments that require it. What's Bella going to say when she comes down in that cutscene of hers?
If they HAD to had voices, I wouldn't mind the ones used in their Hard Ver. music.

Dang, good point, and well made comrade... and with that I take back my previous suggestion...
But I still hold firm to my belief that I should feel like there's more meaning to fighting these bosses, don't get me wrong I like senseless battles in my games as much as the next guy , the music is nice but there's nothing that really makes me really care that I'm killing a god wannabe...

My personal opinion is that the Level 2 and Level 1 'Maren can talk, sure, but the Level 2's can't talk as well, if you get my drift. Limited intelligence, lack of language knowledge, or whatnot, they just can't speak as fluently as NiGHTS and Reala.

I mean, Puffy sings, Donbalon cackles, and Jackle laughs like a maniac... and the rest basically just laugh or roar. No real vocalizations there, but there seems to be a definite potential, especially in those first three. The appearance helps, too. I think the more "humanoid" 'Maren would apparently have better vocal ability.

As for speaking in the games... hm. Depends on what they're saying and when. The games are perfectly fine with no speech from the Level 2s, but I think a line or three from, say, Jackle or Bella, especially without many or any cliched dialogue, would work out fine as well.

In this situation, I think we're all more afraid of bad dialogue, bad voice actors, and silly pre-battle threats than the actual concept of a speaking Nightmaren. If Sega does it right, I think they can definitely pull off that idea without an uproar.

I may have said that I support voice acting for the bosses in the last few posts... and I do... but I think it's safe to say that Sega is bound to mess it up in some divinely unique way that only Sega can think up...

The only way Sega cannot possibly screw up the voice acting for the bosses is if they were all voiced by Dan Green.
