Well, I haz a theory. Ok, so I have seen a lot of fanmarens that were
A ) Created by a dreamer
and
B ) Not Evil
Does that make them a Dreamaren? Let me explain: As I see it a Dreamaren is a dream creature that can look like anything from a human to a Jester to an angel. They protect Nightopia, Ideya and Visitors from the evil grasp of Wizeman. Sooo..Yeah. Thats my theory!

Eh... I would consider them more like Owl with powers. That's the simplest way to describe them, I guess. Dream Guides that explain everything that double as Dream Guardians that kick a**.

I believe that there in general the only differences between Dreams and Nightmares are oppinions on what the dream is, so Pian can be considerd as the local life of Nightopia as humans are and Maren the beast as animals are in our world.
However I think that there would be maren natually made than created by Wiseman. After all we dream of life in our dreams accidentally.

I think it's possible that not all are created by Wizeman then change to the light side. GOD CREATES DEMM! XD
Or perhaps your own heart. Either way, it's interesting to see how dreams, a reflection of our heart and mind, can be warped based on other outside elements.

I'm a believer in that concept as well.
Personally, I think that "Dreamaren", in the "fanmaren" sense, are formed from the qualities/personality/etc. of the dreamer they are "created" from.
Unlike Nightmaren, who, although formed from dream energy themselves, are more "nightmarish" and vicious by nature, dreamer-formed 'Maren can easily be the polar opposite.
That would definitely explain the massive numbers of benevolent 'Maren we NiD fans unavoidably encounter through others or even create ourselves.
Plus the point you mentioned about "Dreamaren" being non-jester-esque is a good one. Wizeman's the guy who made the 'Maren name practically synonymous with "jester", but as totally seperate beings from his creations, "Dreamaren" would indeed have different appearances-- of course, not that they couldn't resemble our popular purple guy!
So... yes. I believe that is an entirely probable, if not actual, theory.
Plus I agree 100% with Murder's Last Crow (on both points XD).
