(I hope this is in the right spot, please move if it's not >__< )

After being a fan of NiGHTS for years and years, I've started to notice businesses and brands and such that capitalize everything but "i" like in NiGHTS. I think its kind of amusing, but it could be because I'm a huge dork. Has anyone else seen these, or am I the only one who notices miniscule things like that? lolol

Lol, I thought I was the only one who noticed things like that.

My college was doing some kind of silly promotion for this magician, and the sign said 'ITS MAGiC!'. I don't know if it was a mistake or if they did it on purpose to try and catch people's attention(people like me. XD ).

I've noticed this on a lot of stuff, too, particularly gadgets/tech/electronics stuff. My guess is that, since the iPod came out, lowercase i's have become the cool hi-tech trend for names/titles.

At the college that I'm going to this September, there is a club called, "Gaming Information Network." I was talking about the college's clubs on a Facebook group supporting future students of the school. Then a person referred to the Gaming Information Network as, "GiN." I found it funny since it is a club for different type of gamers, including video gamers.

Thats possible, but I don't know. iPod has the lowercase I but the only capital letter is the P. The style of capitalization I'm referring to is having everything in caps but a lowercase I. So iPod doesn't fall into that category, but that does make sense. Who knows?

I don't know about iPod being the source of lowercase i becoming popular. I think that the lowercas i NiGHTS thing is more applicable to something with all capitals, as said above, and it's really a decorative thing. In all capitals, I looks often like "l," a lowercase L, and "i" makes it a more distinc letter, and like in NiGHTS, you can make the i fancy.

P.S.- what does the i in iPod stand for?

Noctourne - I think it started all with the release of the iMac and Mac's general flaunty presence in the market of advertising. Not sure if their use of the i was meant to stand for something, or if they were trying to upstage the sales of PC's and PC-related components.

There are a few places around town that use the lowercase 'i' in their advertising, but I don't have pix or references off hand.
(if it counts, I usually write our specials and other things at the restaurant I work at with lowercase i's just to see if anyone picks up on it)

Maybe because you had to hook them up to your computer/internet to download songs?
I've never had an iPod, though, so I don't know much about these things...

Now to hijack this somewhat back to the orignal topic, I saw someone at a college near me in a jacket with the ignatious font. I had to hurry to a conference on river quality (fun! :) ), so I couldn't read what they had on the jacket. At least we know that NiGHTS is subliminally taking over the world! Muahahaha! :P

I run into this ALL THE TIME. (It's very annoying when you're at school and some presents a presentation and all the titles are caps except the i.... And you stop paying attention at that point due to NiGHTS-ness.)

The same thing happened to me! INSiGHT sounds like a fanmaren's name...

It's not capitialisation, but I saw a Blue Chip Bus Line (or something like that) in Hollywood. I was tempted to get on and say "I'd like to go to the Ideya Palace!" :wub:

While sitting in my computer corner, yes - literally a corner - I saw my finacee's rack of CD's. I hadn't actually obtained a physical copy of Pink Floyd's Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and he had it sitting right there. Took out the case, ripped the CD to put on my iPod... set it down. What do I see?
