After making a poem about gaming and recieving some positive feedback, I thought it might be an interesting idea to make a thread about gamer poetry. If you write any good stuff, just post it up here so we can check it out. It can be about anything as long as it deals with video games.

As an added bonus, I've added my original gamer poem here so you won't have to spend forever finding it. It doesn't have a name, but I don't think it really needs one yet. Be forewarned, I did this on the fly, so it might not be the best ever.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

'In days long past, gamers cared not of simple screenshots and graphics capabilities
They cared not for speed, processing power, nor the hype of game release
In days long past the gamer cared for one thing and one thing alone...

The soul of a game

In days long past the triflings of modern-day graphics addicts were looked as an annoyance
The feelings of a game to a true gamer was all that mattered
In days long past the gamer cared for one thing and one thing alone...

The heart of a game

In day long past, such a feeling resounded
Now, in our aging lives gamers wish only for more, more, more
In days long past, more more more meant less less less

Now, we, in the wisdom of years of good perception, we see past such disheartening things
And return to days long past
Where we find what the gamer of the past cared for....

The spirit of a game'

well, I'm actually really young, but we can't really afford NEW game systems, so I have a Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and a SEGA Genesis.....
I only know the Golden Age, because my friends own Wiis and whatever.
The games I own PWN theirs!

Let's see... I own an NES, an SNES, a Genesis, a Saturn, a Dreamcast, and a Wii. So I truly know what the Golden Age of gaming was.

I've played alot of systems. Ocirania of Time is NOT the best Zelda game of all time, Link to the Past is!
Chrono Trigger, ah the memories.
And Final Fantasy Four! That game is one of the most challenging FFs I've EVER played.

Hmm... I wonder... can anyone pinpoint the year that gaming came at it's absolute pinnacle? I'm guessing most ppl will say when NiGHTS, Crash, and MArio 64 all came out on the same year. But it would be interesting to look into for anyone with the time. (I never have time)
