Did i imagine it or did JoD have actual TV commercials? I know it did in Japan because i have them all, but the USA and the UK did they just have the trailer version with the MOVIE!GUY voice over and funny wand waving thing?

Just checking incase I'm missing something obvious here.

Speaking of JoD TV commercials, did any of you actually see it on TV when the game was out?

I never did, and it pissed me off, because SEGA's NOTORIOUS advertising strategy (Read: DON'T) had struck again. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON BY NOW.

I'll try and see if I can find any footage for you, but I doubt it...

If not, we can all just start making our own.

I saw two or three English (I think) commercials on YouTube about a year ago. I'll see if I can find them again.

This was all I could find (so far). Besides the "wand waving thing" you mentioned, TRiPPY, I found two others:



The top one is not any better than the Disney-esque one. It's just as cheesy. But the bottom one has no voice, just gameplay. The title in it is English, so I think it's a UK/US commercial.

The top one is what I'm after and it figures that the only one on Youtube isn't a direct recording XD;;; nooooo.
Maybe i can bug SEGA America for a recording if they have it.

I never saw any ads or previews for JoD on tv myself, though apparently they do exist, lol. I got mad at G4, not seeing anything for the game on the just about only 'gaming' channel on tv.

Yep, i have them all, about to go online in a minute. We're only missing the JoD TV commercials (not the online trailer) and the English UK NiD one (which is basicly the same as the French one but in English obviously XD )

TRiPPY, I suggest the YouTube downloader. It lets you take any video off of YouTube and convert it to various formats. If you see a video, download it so if it vanishes, you'll still have it. If you want, I can do the downloading for you.

I've never seen any JoD adverts in real life. Sega should have us make the commercials if there's another NiGHTS game. I'd totally do it for free.

I just have to say that I don't understand why I've heard a lot of folks claim that Sega didn't advertise/promote JoD at all. I bought tons of comic books (put out DC aside from Sonic comics) that had ad pages on the back cover and sometimes within.

I don't watch a lot of TV but I don't expect to see a commercial for every single game?

I think it's not that Sega doesn't advertise at all, but rather that they don't do it as much as other companies. I don't watch much television, but when I do, there seems to only be a small number of commercials in heavy rotation, none of which was JoD.

Oh i use the Youtube downloader when the thing im downloading is on Youtube lol. But sometimes i find things on other sites that are near impossible to steal even when viewing the page properties and saving directly from your temp files. There are so many rip programs out there and not all of them work 100% with everything, unfortunately, otherwise my life would be easier XD But not to worry, i have everything i need already.

I actually saw one of the commercials, but it was the usual one, but I still thought it was cool, for the fact that it was the way that I found out NiGHTS was an actual game, and I did see it on t.v. , before the game came out.

You're very welcome! The JoD one is missing a bit at the bottom because my scanner is weird, but it's only a bit more of the brown.
