I finished my screenplay! It's my first for a feature that isn't 80% stock footage, which is nice. If I do say so myself, it's turned out quite good: a heart it's an 80s-throwback slasher, but here's some Lucio Fulci influences, some Mario Bava/Dario Argento giallo influences, even some Gothic horror motifs. Too bad a pool is pretty prominent in one scene, though, so I have to wait until summer to film. D:

I'm trying to translate the infamous Harry Potter fanfic "My Immortal" into logical English. Despite some really garbled messes, Tara is isn't that bad overall.

Fan project- Sonic 2 HD http://www.youtube.c...player_embedded

Impressive, wonder if they'll make an 'original' Sonic fangame when they're done with this

though apparently there's some drama going on with this thing? Seems like the fuss is the end result may not have reached hyped expectations, or people's work went unrecognized or some such

Some stuff I didn't know about SA2 http://gonintendo.co...y.php?id=147527

So today I found out about this
Spoiler
game called Irisu Syndrome. I downloaded it, got the translation patch, but now I've run into a problem with my nvidia card. Seems that anybody who has one will have a tough time getting the game to run, and so far all I've gotten is the text file "The Curtain Rises" before the game closed out. (The entire game has text files and pics that pop up as you get further into the game explaining the story. They also tend to change so it's a good idea to check them out every time you get a game over.)

So here's my predicament: From info that I've gather from several forums, I have to force antialiasing on irisu.exe so that it can play. Only problem is that my nvidia card seems a tad out of date or something because when I went to the nvidia control panel and got to "Performance & Quality", there was no option to add a profile and force antialiase a file. For anybody's who's curious, the card type is "NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420". I don't have the money to waste to upgrade to a better card just for a freeware game so it looks like this Dreamer's out of luck.

Also trying to figure out how the heck I got the vibe of "crazy wind mage" out there successfully in a fic. O_o *bypasses weird story*

And viper, that info from Unseen64 was interesting. Who knew the Sonic fanbase changed SA2 so much? (Granted they influence quite a bit when it comes to Sega, for better or worse, but I've mainly ignored that fact.)

Smashy -

I run a MX 440, so we're not too far apart. How current are your drivers? I'd suggest heading over to the NVIDIA site and downloading the newest driver you can. I updated mine and it gave me a ton of new options I didn't have before. Not sure it'll work for yours as well, but it's worth a shot.

--

Random thought for the day -
I'm on the fence about the start of the day. It's raining and thundering, which I love.. but other small instances that have been more than irksome, are trying to drag me down.

Um... I don't know. o.o ^^; I'm not savvy when it comes to issues concerning the nvidia card. I'll go over to the nvidia site and see if I can get anything. Thank you. ^^

Edit: Okay so a driver update was needed. Did everything I was supposed to do with making a profile for irisu.exe, but the game still shuts down in the main menu as as soon as I click start. @_@ I don't know what else I could try. Seems like NVIDIA equals instant inability to play. Okay more like I'm just out of luck for real this time. :/ Some NVIDIA users can get around it, others can't. It's really a shame.
Edit 2: Something about East Asian Language Support after some more searching. Going to see if that works. *hears an error sound* ... Okaaayyy. Great. :D I don't have the CD to install the files. I'll make a note of it and come back to this at a later time. *shrug* It's not particularly important right now. (Addendum: Turns out that might not be the problem with IS at all. @_@ Gah...)

I'm compelled to include part of Google's terrible translation of that page:

Also, Kirby is Kirby last year's wool is released in the U.S. and Japan], and for this story turns into Kirby's new smoking vomiting stationary game machines, Imashi to keep you waiting very long or.

That Kirby game looks great! A lot like Kirby 64 by way of Superstar, my two favorite games. I am worried as to what a smoking vomiting stationary game machine is, but I think it involves an ET arcade cabinet.

Joe Satriani is awesome. Love Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards.

Also, 27+ k words on my Final Fantasy IV Novel, Gaelach Brethie and I'm barely past the Underground Passage just before Damcyan. I only have four offical chapters, an extra 'Christmas Special' and a prolouge! Yes! 22 reviews and counting!

I haven't played videogames in forever, haven't really had time, what, with all my writing stuff going down.

My own novel has finally made major advancements. It's going to be good, just you watch...

(Pointless post is now pointless. :3)

Oi... Okay, this isn't exactly random, but it won't leave my head (for soon-to-be-obvious reasons).

A couple weeks ago I bookmarked a thread on Something Awful's forums: A let's play of Mother 3 done via story telling (much like Earthbound was). It was a wonderful let's play, breathing new life into an already heartfelt story. I didn't have time to read the entire thread so I let it be for a while. I'd just beaten the game itself, so some downtime was needed anyway before I could fully appreciate the plot again.

Today I went back and found that the thread was still there, but it was blocked from anybody who wasn't a member of Something Awful. I had seen this before with other links and never bothered with them again, but I loved the LP (particularly the ending) too much. So I broke down and hit the register link.

Only to find out you need ten bucks to become a member. I do not have even half of that, let alone a paypal or credit card, so I resorted to the only thing I could think of: cache pages.

-snip-

Edit: Did some poking around, and found out that now I just have to be patient and wait for the LP to appear on the LP archive. (I do recall somebody mentioning that they'd ask for that LP to be archived...just didn't know what he or she meant.) All that manual archiving was for nothing. XD; Ah well. Better to wait. :3 In the mean time, goin' back to the Jadusable ARG.
