I JUST HAD THE GREATEST IDEA incorporating remixing/covering a song in the style of Spike Jones.
Only thing holding me back, is my friend with which I'd collaborate with, is out of town for the next two weeks. Baw. *furiously scribbles down ideas*

One of my many downfalls of myself that I've come to realize - the pinnacle of my creativity usually occurs around 11PM if not later.

Also I held a sea urchin yesterday and learned how they fight each other. They turn on their backs to show their mouths and then proceed to try to bite their attacker. Awesome.
I'm not normal, am I?

I'm slowly getting into mecha anime; I've known some Super Robot shows (ie New Getter Robo, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion to an extent) but haven't really gotten into real robots yet. I plan on watching Armored Trooper VOTOMS before trying to get into Gundam... because Gundam can be intimidating.

I know, you can never discuss Rah on the web without the prerequisite Evangelion comparison. I've watched and liked both (what a revelation!); have to watch more Gurren Lagann, started it but haven't taken the time to go back to it.. currently watching Gundam X, which is one of the only Gundam series that has never been ported outside Japan.I only recently learned that RahXephon is actually worth watching and not a shameless Evangelion rip-off. (I get bored and look up reviews of old anime.) So it's ON THE LIST!

You can choose to start with the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and follow the Universal Century line from there (i.e. Char's Counterattack, Zeta Gundam, etc.), or watch one of the alternate universe series like Gundam Wing or Gundam 00.

Noctourne: I'll suggest a few "classics" that have major appeal:
Neon Genesis Evangelion - A cerebral giant robot (although some fans say it isn't a REAL mecha anime, which is debatable) show with philosophical tones; a lot of folks think it gets too "whiny" at times, but it's also one of the most influential anime series from the past 20 years. Watch the TV series before bothering with the movies. It's generally considered essential viewing.
Cowboy Bebop - I always forget that there are people who haven't seen Cowboy Bebop, it was HUGE in the early part of the 2000s. A brilliant series that mixes sci-fi with Western flavors and just oozes cool all over the place. I've never heard of anyone disliking this series.
Escaflowne - IMO one of the best TV series out there. It has heavy shojo elements, but also has manly men in mech armor fighting? Very dramatic, zero filler. It has an older aesthetic, but I think it stands up well.
Fullmetal Alchemist - A gripping series that's basically about humans and power. I've heard people say that Brotherhood is better, but I think it's worth checking out the original series first; it's also really great and some things which are casual reveals in Brotherhood and the manga are big "shocks" for the first.
Part of me wants to recommend Hellsing, but the original TV series didn't age well (and even back in the day, it dragged for half the episodes) and the OVA series (Hellsing Ultimate) isn't done and the DVDs are hard to find... I would suggest checking out the manga. It's INTENSE and COOL horror-action; so if you're looking for a good manga, I think it would be up your alley.

Help me NiGHTS forum, you're my only hope! I just burned through Hetalia (LOVE!), and need to start on some more anime. Here's my top five:
-Black Butler
-Soul Eater
-FLCL
-Death Note
-Ouran

FLCL then Death Note the Ouran High School Host Club. I suggest watching Sonic X and Sonic OVA plus TMNST (2 EP TMNT Anime taking after the 80's TMNT* as well. Maybe Bleach, D.Grayman, and One Piece. Code Lyoko is good too. Maybe even watch ZENTRIX. The Megaman Anime is good too. NT Warrior/EXE and Starforce and all. Though a Sprite movie and not anime SMBZ is a good watch too. Also the DB-DBGT Series and OVAS plus Yugioh is good (ALL series and OVA that exist plus movies).

I'd like to recommend Welcome to the N.H.K. It's about a hikikomori (Japanese shut-in?) named Sato who's one day met by an old woman and her niece named Misaki. I have quite the long list, and they're the the ones that sound the most interesting and I have immediate access to via Netflix.Wait, are those your top five that you like, or top five to pick from next? From that list I would say do FLCL first since it's only 6 eps.
I really wan to watch Eva; I love Gainax's Daicon film, and it sounds really interesting and thoughtful. Cowboy Bebop is another that I've always seen, but never paid much attention to. Those are all on my list, so it's nice to get a recontamination from you. Haven't heard much about Hellsing, actually...is it Hellsing as in Dr. Van?Viper: Yeah, I basically plan on taking Gundam by the horns and starting by watching the original TV series. But I'm waiting for the DVD-reissue to come out because I don't think I'll be able to mentally keep it a priority if I'm just streaming it on Crunchy Roll or something. After that... Gundam Z and ZZ! Since apparently they continue the story of the original...

Just the other day I was wondering about this sort of thing, whether it would happen. There's an Anubis model kit coming out soon, I'd like to play ZoE a bit more to justify getting it :smileytongue:
Still haven't played MGS3, and haven't gotten MGS4..

I think that's the one about the vampire named Hellsing who hunts after monsters or something using a heavy, custom gun. Never really got into that series, unfortunately, and there's not much I know.Haven't heard much about Hellsing, actually...is it Hellsing as in Dr. Van?

"The Ghastly Ones" is banned. It's about as fun to watch as dying in the house of parliament, but it's also as inoffensive as a horror movie can reasonably be.we do? :C and here i thought the whole 'dying in the house of parliament means you have to get hanged' was reasonable XD

12:37AM - "How ******* dare anyone make fun of - Mama Luigi! - after all she's been through!" Hello Heavy Troopa is Ready for Launch. Other memetic phrases follow.
12:38AM - "Welcome to the isle, of the crocodile..." A man begins singing A Capella then the lyrics kick in. (Crocodile Chaos from overlooked remix)
12:41AM - Link faces off against an Iron Knuckle. (The Story of Hyrule - mithius)
12:44AM - Ha! Total win.
12:45AM - Normal remixes resume with NiD's Perfect Album.
Suitably weird stuff pops up when I leave my tunes on random. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some sleep to catch up on.
