[Masterweaver]

It's a door. A strange, orange and purple door. And it's open.

You decide to walk through.

Inside is the strangest thing you have ever seen. What looks like a jester of some sort is bent over some machinery. As he turns towards you, you see his right forearm is completely robotic, and a sheet of something descends from his hat to cover his left eye.

"Hello," he comments, motioning toward a seat with his metal-tipped purple glove. "I'm Masterweaver. Well, Masterweaver of Nightmare, anyways. There are other Masterweavers, I know." He pauses, the long single tail on his head flapping uncertainly. "You probably haven't heard of them... Anyways, I'm working on this device here. It's... I don't know what it is... I'm making it up as I go."

The device hums ominously.

"HIT THE DIRT!" The purple-and-orange clothed Nightmaren leaps for you and barely gets you on the ground before a large explosion rips the roof off the building. He shrugs, stands, and dusts himself off.

"Sorry about that..."

(I tend to introduce myself in character...)

"What? Oh! No, I'm androgynous. Sorry."

Masterweaver stands, looking around. "I know what I did wrong..." He walks over to a small segment of cords and begins unplugging and re-plugging them furiously.

(And the lemonade is over THERE.)

[Noctourne Wonderland]

Noctourne: "Well, hello sir. What *are* you working on? A loom? Does it power Metropolis Tower?" He floats over. "Whay are you a Masterweaver? Do you make textiles? Are you loyal to Wizeman? AM I THE ONLY MAREN WITH A GENDER?!?!?" Noctourne faits. He gets up quickly enough, though. "Would you like some tea?"

(being in character is fun!)

[Masterweaver]

"No thank you, I don't drink..."

Masterweaver ponders the slew of questions. "Um.. I don't know why I'm called Masterweaver, I think I was named that because that's how the letters fell. You know, Wizeman takes a scrabble game, tosses it into the air, and that's how it goes... I'm still wondering how NiGHTS only has one lowercase letter in the name..."

"And no, level three and four Maren are gendered too. Who would make a second-level Nightmaren that could reproduce, I don't know... it sounds dangerous..."

This subforum is to introduce yourself, not fancharacters. Neither is it for roleplaying, we have a forum for that.

...if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and sounds like a duck, we're going to assume it's a duck. I was going to pick out examples, but those first three posts of yours are roleplay. You haven't even said anything about yourself, you're just playing a character. Of course we're going to see it as roleplay.

I'm sorry to have offended you, but might it occur to you that I might just be my character? After all, quantum theorem does state that reality is relative.

I don't know what you mean by "one of those", but if you happen to think that you are a living breathing character in real life, please keep it to yourself. A handful of people have passed through this forum of the same mindset and it causes people to make fun of one another, causes fights, flaming, and generally makes other members uncomfortable.

No matter what your belief, it doesn't mean that doing text actions means you're actually doing anything. Character or no, you have not properly introduced yourself, and if you wish to RP, we have an RP section you can do that in, as long as it is NiGHTS related. This is not mainly an RP forum.

I am simply asking that you stay on topic here, and introduce yourself properly if you are to continue posting in this section of the forum. Please, tell us all about yourself.

Alright, I suffer form "World Separation Mentality," wherein I acknowledge fictional worlds (such as this forum) to be separate and therefore require a compatriot located in said world in order to communicate at all. True, Masterweaver the Nightmaren, in the world outside the forum, does not exist, but as inherently true is the fact that he does exist in this forum.

I am not one to reveal anything about my personal life online. This may sound like paranoia--In fact, it probably is--but nonetheless, it is an ingrained habit. I find it personally offensive when people ask me about my life in order to start a conversation; to me it means that their life must be incredibly dull and/or I am the only one around, so they are talking simply to talk, and not to talk to me specifically.

I realize this comes across as sounding negative, and I am sorry to have offended you. I just wish for one moment somebody would base friendship off of who I am, not who I was.

This forum is not a fictional world. It isn't a world at all. It's a forum. It's a place where existing human fans of NiGHTS into Dreams and Journey of Dreams log onto their computers and come to discuss the games. Not discuss them in the format of an actual place. The closest thing you will find to that is the RP section. I'm afraid you are mistaken if you thought this was an RP or "otherkin" forum.

I'm sorry but as I said, this sort of discussion makes many people uncomfortable and I must admit that I myself and becoming uncomfortable with it. Since you will not be using this thread to further speak of anything else, I'm going to lock it. (Because it will continue to be OFF TOPIC.) Feel free to browse and enjoy other sections and threads as long as you remain on topic. Unfortunately very few if any topics have anything to do with your "affliction".
