I saw this article (I lost it, Im so sorry... ;_ that said that if you sleep for less time, you have more vivid, realistic dreams at night. It sounds really weird, but I guess its true!

I can totally vouch for that. During exam weeks this year i was up usually all night, cuz if i was asleep i wouldnt wake up for my exam >_<. So i stayed up all night and the next night after i had INSANELY ccurate dreams. Strange enough, they continued in canon. I dreamnt i was in a desert tower, like Prine of Persia or something, and had to fight some guy who looked like TP Ganondorf to the death. I beat him then lead an army of women o_O. And yes, i had played Zelda in that time period.

I can see that. If you don't want my explination, than skip this paragraph.
I'm thinking that when you don't get much sleep and have vivid dreams is your minds' way of trying to trick you into making you to sleep more. I know that when I'm having a good dream, I tend to try to sleep in.
My quackerey is finished.

Tell me about it. XD
I've been averaging 4 hours of sleep per night thanks to insane stress and work levels (mind you, I don't enjoy it), but even so I was surprised to find I started to have terribly vivid dreams despite the lack of rest.
Unfortunately, I tend to wake up abrubptly and early, thanks to my schedule, and that eats into my recall, as does the stress. But what I do remember is incredibly well-connected and interesting.
I honestly don't know why that is, either... maybe your conscious sense and awareness doesn't fully 'shut down'-- or at least they linger a little more-- when you're asleep for a shorter time? It's an idea.
Either way, I'll be sure to do some research into it as well. ^^ That's a very interesting topic!

From my knowledege, this is true. Sleep is important, and lack thereofe can cause your mind to do crazy things.....

It would seem to me that your mind has its set pattern of when it enters the dreaming stage of sleep. When your sleep cycle changes, it cuts into that pattern, and you remember things that you normally wouldn't because your consciousness kicks in during the middle of your dream instead of near the end like usual. Thus you remember more details. That's just my theory.
