Is it true they can not be skipped and also is it true that if you fail to defeat a boss you must watch all cutscenes over again from that chapter? I'm just wondering because IGN's reviewer had complained about that and I know how reviewers can get.

The reviewers lie. You need to watch the cutscene once, thereafter you can skip at your leasure.

Hmm. The IGN guy got it twisted slightly. I think i remember him saying that if you fail at the boss you have to go back and do all the missions and cutscenes again, which is false info. The missions are unlocked one after another and the boss becomes available after all the sub-missions are complete. I think what the reviewer was refering to was doing the three main laps in the flying section and then battling an easier version of the boss. If you fail there then you have to do the flying section again, which is just how the original NiGHTS into Dreams game worked. So it's pretty much more the same thing.

As for skipping cutscenes. I didn't have too many problems with completing the levels so i never had to go back through the levels and do it all over again so i never had to watch a cutscene again. However, once i had completed the game, i went back to play some of the earlier levels and the cutscenes were skipable then.

Thanks for clearing that up. I didn't think it was a big deal. Yeah that is like the original NiGHTS. I just can't trust reviewers these days.

Reviews are good if they actually pay attention to what happens in the game. If a reviewer is not going to take notice of what's going on and then does a review, it makes him look a little silly, like this guy for example.
Buy/rent the game and make your own judgement, i say. It's the only real way to know if you'll like it or not. :)

  • Interests:I like NiGHTS, Sonic games, the Nightmare Before Christmas (I wonder what would happen if Oogie and Reala met... hmmmm.....) Writing, drawing, art in any way, shape, or form, hard rock music, dancing wildly even though I can't dance for crap. I write poetry and lyrics (although they're not very good T__T) and comedy movies. I love the Dreamcast podcast that DiGi and TRiPPY put on. I also enjoy thinking outside the box. I'm what is known as a Meathead. I can laugh at myself, think outside the box, and smile. Meatheads are smarter than your average Joe, with much more common sense and the rare ability to find creative solutions to problems. My idol is a man named Jimmy Dolittle. Look him up ^.~
I just might be the only person alive who has ever spray painted YOU SUCK on my computer at an IGN review of NiGHTS, then regretted it later when I was viewing other web pages. It took a bottle of Pine-Sol and sixteen toilet bowl cleaners to wash it off.
