Hey there everyone!
well i finally decided to share with you all, my non-NiGHTS related sculptures... and.. er.. perhaps some of my own doodles and characters someday...
I'd like to start off with something special to me...
My very first sculpture ever...
In case you cant tell, its a squid...
im still cant believe i got the correct number of tentacles on it for my age back then... i was only six, in first grade, in 1993? i think...
anyway...this little guy started off in art class on a special activity-day of some sort... we all had to make something out of ceramic clay... and we could use whatever cookie-cutter there was in the box on the table that we were all sitting at. ( i think this was the first time i handled clay as well...)
Everyone just took all the cookie-cutters of snowmen, moons, and stars and bleh... and started cutting away at it... and so did i, for a moment...
i cut all the shapes out and asked if i could have some more clay. Surprisingly, the teacher said "yes." she handed me a wad, and i asked her "what can i make?" and she said, "anything you want." "like what?" "Well, how about an animal you like?" "OK!" i got all excited, and began to think of an animal i liked... the first thing i thought of was a squid... so i went crazy... soon after, everyone tried to make an animal. it was a fun day.
Nowadays though, I like to call him Afro-Squid. XD
NEXT is a sculpture i made recently after a wave of inspiration struck.
Its Ridley, from the Metroid Series. i used sculpey, clay knives, super glue, and my hands and nails. (and the oven i guess)
And shortly after, i thought about making something EASY... just for fun. ( i do that every now and then.)
so i decided to make Plok, from the SNES game, PLOK
I used sculpey, clay knives, super glue, paint & coating, and my hands and nails. (oven?)
I painted the yellow parts, because it was stained with red clay marks from my hands. i also painted the eyes.
well, thats it for now... i'll put some more of my stuffs up later.

Your sculptures are, by far, the most impressive thing I've seen in a looong time.
Do you have any helpful hints for those who might want to give this a try?
Looking forward to more!

Your sculptures are awesome! My god Ridley is SCARY!
Aww at your first sculpture, it reminds me of one of the villains from Where in the World is Carmen San Diego gameshow.

I must say, I am thoroughly impressed.
Also, the sculpture of Ridley really reminds me of how I originally pictured NiGHTS would look like wearing the Dragon Mask.

If someone had said they were releasing a figure of Ridley and used your picture, I'd have believed them!
Excellent work!
