- Donations have added up to an adequate, albeit not optimal, amount, and I should have no trouble to get myself through.
- Anyone who has donated and would like a copy of the ISO please PM me with the email address you used to make a donation, and we'll arrange an appropriate transfer method. Anyone who donates from this point forward will also be offered a copy.
- In February, the ISO will be offered to all registered members of the forum (who registered before November 20th, 2007).
Well, things ended up working out after all. I was relieved of a major upcoming expense recently that made it possible for me to get by with the donations sent so far. So with that, I'm going with option two I presented earlier on, and offering the ISO to donators and registered members. I chose to only open it to registered members before November 20th because I saw quite a few just-registereds posting early on about releasing it. I may come to terms and reasoning later on though.
I can't say this enough...THANK YOU ALL!!! I knew you'd pull through like this, and thanks to your help we as a fanbase are able to hold onto this and have seen the original game in its early form. I went into this thinking (almost positive) that the cash I put forward was going to be gone forever, but thanks to so many generous persons here I don't have to worry about the money every time I goto bed at night.
Future donations still go to the same spot: http://www.nightsintodreams.com/NiD/black/beta/travis.htm
I honestly don't know what to say...except it's all right now (in fact it's a gas...Jumpin Jack Flash)?

Frankly, the fact that you ponied up the cash to get it in the first place was pretty amazing in the first place. :3 I'm all for you recovering your money, though, being a poor college student and all.

The only issue I have is that I cant do it online. I would need Trav's real address and I dont blame him at all if he doesn't want to give it to a stranger. This is most unfortunate. I can only wish him luck.Shoot.. I don't know if it's the right idea, but we now have over 800 members at this site; it's just a thought, but if a message went out to every member to donate like, five or ten dollars to the cause, TRAViS could have the money he needs (and deserves) in no time.. again, it's up to everyone to do their part, but for a meager sum per maybe it'd be feasible.

I have a school box for this very purpose that doesn't reveal my home address. The only issue I have is that I cant do it online. I would need Trav's real address and I dont blame him at all if he doesn't want to give it to a stranger. This is most unfortunate. I can only wish him luck.
PM me if you want it. That goes for anyone who can't pay via the internet, but still want to. Not that I think there'll be many more people at this rate...

Whether or not you decide to sell it is whats best for your financial situation.
Its great that we got to know some stuff from the beggining of NiD development but it came at a very steep price.
Thank you very much.

Digging about the net I found -
The Debug Mode was included on pre-release eproms (yes, he means Gold CD's, they're just a tad confused over there sometimes) of NiGHTS sent to magazines (I work for GameFan at the moment). It was accessed at the title screen by pressing diagnoal up/left, L & R shoulder buttons, and X, Y and Z all at the same time.
This brings up a small menu which gives the options to -
1. Remove all data from screen - all numbers, links, info is removed from screen. NiGHTS flies clean!
2. Remove time - No time limit. When the timer reaches zero it goes back up. This enabled me to get a 999 link on Frozen Bell course 1 (cheating of course, but hey it looks cool). Also the alarm clock never comes for Eliot or Claris.
3. Instant course complete - when flying round a course, by tapping x or y you can fly into NiGHTS temple without collecting the ideya first. Ie. You can do all four courses in four seconds just by tapping X. This is good for practicing against the bosses.
4. Access all dreams instantly. No need to get a C first.
Source - Sounds interesting! Especially the no time limit thing~
I just want to see this tried before the disk leaves your hands for the sake of idiots like me who tried it out a billion times with no avail. ^^; Seeing this topic rejigged my memory of it... I feel like a spoon not mentioning it earlier.

Life gets expensive so it's completely understandable if it comes down to having to re-sell the beta. Personally I hope the community can pull together to reimburse you so we can keep this, but all the same, I sincerely thank you for at least trying to do this to benefit all the NiGHTS fans.
BTW how much is still needed to be raised? Just so we can keep pace at how much you still need to be reimbursed.

I'm sorry this is very low (xmas celebration is so expensive...).
I really want to help you for what you've done and I hope you will able to keep your original beta and give some ISO to us.

However...
Thanks to the generosity of someone very close to me (my father), I've been relieved of a $400-500 expense that I would have needed to pay up on by the time the month is out. Which means, as things are looking right now, I can hang on to the donations so far and continue on the second option on the list. I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment so I'll post back later on with what the final word is. I want to say things are looking good, but I can't be 100% sure.
And I haven't replied directly to those of you who have donated since I started this topic, but I still want to extend my sincere gratitude and thanks for what you've been able to bring forth. I was very skeptical about it all, but the many people who have helped me out in any way (financially or in other ways) have made me realize just how great of a community we really are. Thank you all
TRAViS Out.

We're looking at sometime on or after February 24th for the beta to be offered to registered forumers.
Also, many thanks to Malan over at www.nightsintodreams.fr for helping me distribute the beta.
