I've come to the conclusion that the writers are either oblivious or shameless. (Incompetent, too, but that almost goes without saying).
The sheer amount of innuendo seems too much to be coincidence... so. much. touching. Reala was especially grabby in JoD.
I can't watch any of the cutscenes without bursting into girly giggles. Heck, even the first time I played JoD, I lost it laughing at a few points.
Things that make me crack up in horror and amusement:
- "Touch NiGHTS"
- Any gratuitous ass-shot of NiGHTS. Which is pretty much the entirety of the game. I really don't need to see his perky, finely-rendered, spandexed posterior in my face in every cutscene. IT'S SO SHINY I CAN'T LOOK AWAY.
- Reala surprise-buttsexing NiGHTS up against the door at the start of Helen's story
- Reala getting into the kidnapping business with Will and wondering how to go about "getting what (he) wants"
- "Are you all alone today, NiGHTS?"
- Owl's big ball
- "YOU AND ME, ONE ON ONE"
- NiGHTS into chains
- the sounds the kids make as they climb up the chains to the Captures
- Boat NiGHTS and Coaster NiGHTS
I'm easily amused.
