Sales?

01 January 2008 - 08:58 PM

Well, as we know the game bombed in Japan (only 7000 on the launch day I believe), but what about sales in the Americas? I've read in various places that it bombed there too, but does any one have any nice numbers?

I like numbers.

Super Mario Galaxy

17 November 2007 - 07:14 PM

So, Super Mario Galaxy. About 11 years ago Mario came into the 3D world and completely defined 3D platforming for the next decade or so. Wonderful. Sunshine came along and it was a bit crap, so let's ignore that. Now we have Super Mario Galaxy, which totally redefines the 3D platform experience once again.

Really I could go on for pages and pages about how this has, in the for time it's been out, topped the list of the best games I've ever played, but I won't. Instead I urge you all to try the shining gem in the puddle of slop and shovelware that is the Wii software lineup. I've never come across a game so focused, yet invented. Never has a game constantly left a big grin on my face from when I get into it and right the way through.

So, anyone else loving this?

(The opening was a nice big fanservice, but bloody boring I felt. Other than that, 10/10)

http://www.inside-games.jp/news/235/23581.html (this one has the videos and a gallery, showing more Alps chase and the new Shleep.

Last pic seems old, but it's on the TGS page all the same. Sorry I can't IMG tag them, I have no remaining webspace and this forum won't let me IMG tag dynamic pages.

The pictures seem very nice indeed. I like how they show the mare route at the bottom right. And the bloom is used right for once. :o

New Gulpo music is omgawesome. The Alps Chase looks wonderful and the desert dream doesn't have half bad music from what you can hear (the sound is obscured to much in the video sadly).

Also Links.

Also hot air balloons.

I feel dirty.

(one last thing, do I spy a Pian in the desert level?)

As for the release date?

13th December this year. Looks very complete in comparison to before though.

New trailer tonight

Freshly Picked; Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland

Old news I know, but it's so nearly here.

Anyone who's played a recent Zelda will have a vague idea as to who Tingle is. Love him or hate him, his spinoff has been receiving nothing but critical praise. The game itself has little to do with the other Zelda games, apart from the odd reference, rather it's a strange, money-based RPG. In it, you'll be haggling, hiring muscle to protect you, bribing various characters etc, while doing the traditional Zelda dungeon stuff.

Nintendo of Europe is taking a huge risk translating this, one Nintendo of Aemerica most likely won't (which is strange, it's usually the other way around). So yeah, it's apparently one of the most fun and innovative games in a long, long time. Check it out on Friday week, these sorts of projects deserve support I think.
