I wonder if that is practical though as it would make it very obvious just how tiny the levels really are.

I suspect things like that will get hacked into the PC version regardless though, its one reason I fear I may end up buying this game on every platform.

It would be odd if they didn't include achievements, seeing as the code base will need to have them for the PS3 and Xbox versions anyway.

Get a gaming PC! ;)

If you don't have the cash for one though, I say PS3, it's superior in most every way to the Xbox.

Superior in every way? I think not. As someone who owns both I still find few advantages to the PS3, the biggest one being the games that I can buy on Vita and get the PS3 version for free.

For starters, an Xbox 360 is cheaper and IMO has a much better controller. The analog sticks are just too loose and too low down on the PS3 controller. This is particularly detrimental to NiGHTS and made the PS2 version feel even worse than its control scheme changes alone did.

OS functionality is vastly superior on Xbox 360 too. With cross gaming chat, custom soundtracks for ALL games, free trials of ALL XBLA games (which can usually be unlocked without quitting your game progress, so you do not have to redo the part of the game you just did if you suddenly decide to buy the game), not having to install games before you can play them, quick small game patches not huge ones that take half an hour to download, faster downloads period.

The ONLY things the PS3 has to its advantage in my opinion are the free online gaming, better Netflix app (also sucks the Xbox one needs a Gold account to work), and the fact it plays Blurays. That said, stand alone Bluray players today have much better picture quality than the PS3, load faster, are quieter and use a LOT less electricity.

So especially if you are buying a console JUST for this game, Xbox should be the cheapest option. The only catch is if it has online gameplay, which I very much doubt. Online leaderboards are still free to use on Xbox with a free Xbox Live Silver account.

On the other hand, I would think that considering how much SEGA has supported the Wii with exclusives that a retail release would not be out of the question.

On the other side of the fence, I REALLY wish they would give us a HD release of Sonic Colors as that game is the best Sonic game I have played in years, but I HATE playing it in fugly SD.

As for releasing it on the Wii, people are missing the most obvious reason this cannot happen - its a digital release.

Its perfectly normal for PSN/XBLA/Stream releases to be large sizes. I would expect this game to be at LEAST 300MB, likely more. As while they can compress the CD audio into lossy formats (I wish they wouldn't) the video files will be a lot bigger than on the original as they will at LEAST be full SD.

Quite frankly, it can't be done as a digital release on Wii. Its a shame as I think its a good idea, even if I wouldn't get it on there (if JoD had been on Xbox I might not even own a Wii) but Nintendo are poor at opening up their consoles later on its life. They really should allow you to run stuff directly from SD cards or even USB sticks, but they don't. As such, nothing too big to fit in the built-in memory can be released digitally, its a real bummer.

Hopefully they will do it later as a digital release on WiiU/3DS/Vita, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

As for the ACTUAL release, I have high hopes that as TRiPPY is involved that it will be a much superior release to the PS2 version. Hopefully they can refine the game so it plays more like the original as while I still enjoyed the PS2 version, I didn't have anyone to compete with on that version. If this new release still has the problems chaining links, it will really spoil it for me as I pretty much sucked at it to begin with so the PS2 changes meant I couldn't chain links at all any more.

However everyone is assuming this is just a port from the PS2, I'm not so sure it is. I thought SEGA had long since informed us they didn't have the PS2 source code so it would have to start from scratch?
