Were we all looking in the wrong place when all this time it was right under our noses? This is an unaltered screenshot from one of the NiGHTS Museum presents on Christmas NiGHTS.

Note that this is a picture of NiGHTS surrounded by all of the boss characters. But check out the one in the upper left corner. It says "NIGHTS" but it is clearly not NiGHTS. Here's a closer look.

The horns have blue stripes and seem to be a darker shade of purple than NiGHTS. Skin tone is way darker, and the eyes...those evil glowing yellow eyes.

This may have been some very early art that they tossed into Christmas NiGHTS and just altered the name on the placard assuming no one would notice. At least that is what I'm assuming. They did a pretty good job too seeing how this has eluded everyone for so long.
