NK's Comic Projects

18 May 2008 - 02:54 AM

Hmmmm, now some of you people maaaay remember my old art topic, in which I'd posted character design for one of my comics. WELL FORGET ABOUT THOSE. They are practically obsolete, as, well... my art's improved and the story has had MAJOR modifications.

Soooo, to get the main idea of the comic...
Ereshkigal is some dictator who's basically set out to take over EVERYTHING on her planet.
All characters (as well as certain events), are based on various myths. I've already planned on having people from Summerian, Norse, Japanese, Hindu, Aztec, Greek, and, uh... many more mythological stuff.

So here be random things for it.

REPO! The Genetic Opera

16 March 2008 - 10:55 PM

Anyone else heard about this? If not, here's the summary:

"In the year 2056 - the not so distant future - an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Out of the tragedy, a savior emerges: GeneCo, a biotech company that offers organ transplants… for a price. Those who miss their payments are scheduled for repossession and hunted by villainous Repo Men.

In a world where surgery addicts are hooked on painkilling drugs and murder is sanctioned by law, a sheltered young girl searches for the cure to her own rare disease as well as information about her family’s mysterious history. After being sucked into the haunting world of GeneCo, she is unable to turn back, as all of her questions will be answered at the wildly anticipated spectacular event: The Genetic Opera.

Directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, Saw III, Saw IV) and produced by Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate, this futuristic horror rock opera stars Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Alexa Vega (Spy Kids), Paris Hilton (House of Wax), Anthony Head (TV’s “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Ogre (from the band Skinny Puppy) and world-renowned opera singer Sarah Brightman (Broadway’s “Phantom of the Opera”). By fusing Rocky Horror Picture Show and Blade Runner, this unique production will modernize the “rock opera” genre with original music and rich, dark production design.

This is not your parents’ opera…"

BAAAFFFGGGJGJFDJTHEDJYD I'm so excited about this one. Bill Moseley. Come on! Bill freakin' Moseley! GEHEHEHEH.

Gotta love the music too. I'm definately buying the movie soundtrack when it comes out since they only sell crap versions of the actual show's soundtrack. :<

GEAR

20 January 2008 - 03:17 AM

Has anyone else read this comic, or even any of Doug TenNapel's other work? I bought it just recently and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED it. The show Catscratch was very loosely based on it, too.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, I'll give you a quick idea on the story: The cats of Newton are constantly under attack by the other states surrounding them (The dogs from Dogtown, the insects from Southplate, and the cats of Northplate). With their giant robot Guardian all busted up, they send four of their, uh... 'best' (Mr. Black, Simon, Gordon, and Waffle) on a mission to steal a Guardian from another state. However, things begin to take a turn for the worst when Newton finds itself under attack from all sides, and their only hope rests in Gear, the legendary 'Forbidden Mechanism. But will it really be possible to defeat all these guys when your saviour is some sort of dumb-tard?

So, yeah. I may warn you, though, that it dooooesn't really end well. Heck, the ending made me cry, and very few things have been able to make me do that.

Movies you're looking forward to...

13 January 2008 - 08:08 AM

Yes, just as the title suggests, talk about any movie you wanna see. For me, only two things come to mind:

- My Name is Bruce: Bruce Campbell is abducted by these people in a small town in Oregon, where he is forced to fight an ancient Chinese war deity. Think Evil Dead meets Galaxy Quest.

- The Neverhood movie: As a fan of both games, I'm UUUUBER-excited. Especially when it will most likely be in stop-motion and will have Doug Tennapel, the creator and director of the games, direct it.

All other movies could fall off the face of the Earth and perish. I just need to see these two. D:
