I'm just wondering if anyone has seen/played that NiGHTS Score Attack downloadable game that was from Phantasy Star Online/Billy Hatcher? It's interesting that that was the only "game" we got between NiD and JoD apart from the cameos in Sonic Adventure 1, Shuffle and Riders.

Nope.. I'm pretty much limited to the original game, and the NiGHTS pinball table in Sonic Adventure

It's right here on the gameplay downloads section of the site, for those who'd like to try it.

NiGHTS was not meant to be played without an analogue stick ._.

I played it on both PSO and Billy Hatcher. It's okay. A little slow paced and murderous to the thumb, but it was the only new NiGHTS gameplay in years back then so I was willing to overlook that for awhile. Insofar as Billy Hatcher downloads, Puyo Puyo and Chu Chu Rocket were better. The NiGHTS quest on PSO was pretty fun though.

*cough* Thank goodness for USB controllers. And the scores are extremely unforgiving. How high has anyone gotten? My best score is 55,640.

I played it a few years back in my PSO addiction years. I seem to remember my thumb being sore for days after it. I loved the music.

Yup, emulator baby. ROM came straight from the main site. I believe I got an A once. I loved that moment. I should play it later.

I really enjoyed that game - basic but it has the NiGHTS feel. Visual Boy Advanced emu with a usb pad works great for it

and my high score -

Works ok on a hacked PSP running gpSP. Even the analogue stick works, so you don't have to have a laptop and USB controller to play it on the go with analogue, :D

I've only been able to get it to work on vbapsp - it wont load on gpSP - is that the rom from nid.com? What gpSP version/settings are you using?

I'm using the default settings on the latest gbSP. You WILL need to use mb2gba on the rom to get NiGHTS to work on gpSP, and after that it works flawlessly.

Did you find him? He's on the last level. He's awesome.

I played Score Attack while I was waiting for my copy of NiGHTS into Dreams... to arrive in the mail. I rented the game, and suffered through it without stopping. I can't believe they put the coolest egg on the last level... Score Attack made my thumb sore...

Cheers for that wocko - loooks great on the psp screen. Its cool to be able to play it on the bus after work :D

Analogue control is nice too (though not perfect as its still only digital). Is the zoom in/out effect at the end of a mare missing or did I imagine it? :P

Anyone up for a scoreattack for the game? I'll create a page at sa.net if its popular enough...

2nd 169200 - gsk
