Considering I just saw the same topic twice, I belive you are also suffering a datebase malfuntion. I have been trying to combat this for 30 min now. >.<

looks rather nice to me. I can see you based it off the fishy screen of the new game.
If you want my suggestion, sketch out the basic shapes of NiGHTS body first really lightly. It works similar to anime characters,. but NiGHTS has an exaggerated torso and tiny hips. He/she has really long thin legs. The vest is really the only new thing about him. or shim. or whatever NiGHTS is XD
But really, you have to start somewhere right?

Not bad at all for a first attempt man! The top came out fairly nicely, the only things that look really off is the fingers (but those are hands... so they're special...) and the fact that he looks like he hasn't slept in about 6 monthes. XD
