I personally enjoy shooters, adventures games, and strategy games, although many others catch my eye. What is your favorite?

By the way, NiGHTS is classified as an adventure game.

RPG's, Action Adventure, Puzzles, and some randome games here and there. No sports other than snowbording or Sonic Riders.

I like Adventure, Platforming, RPGs and MMOs. Sometimes I prefer Social games, where I can talk and not have to be challenged.

I sometimes dabble in RPGs, but usually only 16-bit RPGs. I never really liked the 3D stuff.

I like pretty much everything other than sport games.
Doesn't mean you won't catch me playing some type of sport game.

Adventure, Action, Simulation, Strategy, and Other

Other is Sandbox Games, such as Grand Theft Auto an Destroy All Humans. Those games are, like, heaven 8D!

I didn't add RPG, but, in particular, I like very much Okage: Shadow King. Evil King Stan is just.... awesome 8D!

Tops on my list is probably Adventure. But by that, I mean games like the Monkey Island series (3 in particular.)

Funny how there aren't any fans of NiGHTS that also like sports and racing games. I guess that says a lot. :P

Well I like Sonic Riders...but thats about it. I guess NiGHTS fans are more into things with more fantsty in them and less realism. I don't know.

Fighters are my favorite games. Always have been. Action games are a close second. I dabble in all genres exept sports. Most of those games suck and I hate EA with passion. Racers are fine as long as they aren't sims like Gran Turismo.

I thought that Gran Turismo was pretty good. It was just way to long.

Platformers, simulation. And other- those 'interactive novels' and point and click games (or are those under adventure?) are awesome (does Phoenix Wright go in those catagories?).

I kind of like RPGs too but I really have to be in the mood D= And some simple sports games are a laugh.

Most point and click games (Police Quest, King's Quest, the Mickey Mouse game for Gamecube that came out awhile back >>, Leisure Suit Larry O_o, Secret of Monkey Island, Manic Mansion, Grim Fandango, Myst, basically anything Sierra or LucasArts had made) are all considered Adventure games. I don't play a lot of them, though >_>. Police Quest is probably the only one that I've really liked. It is pretty fun; It was made by an ex-Police Officer who now creates Video Games.

I'm more partial to RPG, Action/Adventure, Platform, and Fighting games, but I can't force myself to play a shooting or a sport game even if my life depended on it.

I mainly play RPGs, Adventure, Platformers and Fighting ones (like Soul Calibur). I hate sport games (i've never really got the idea of them) and shooters (my brother tried teaching me once but i got confused and gave up) and racing games (forced to play and STILL hate it). Recently, i've been unable to pull myself away from Ape Escape 3...

My favorite genre is Megaman Games. They completely have genre of their own, because he's blue!!!

But I guess action\adventure generally.

I was so sure MMo's would get it.. but the one I voted for got it, the old fashioned RPGS. I just love these.. most likely because I'm a voracious reader and storyline is like candy to me  Though MMOs are fun as well. I also like the occasional shooter (Goldeneye from N64 anyone <.<) some adventure games, puzzles, anything quirky especially.

I never discriminate.

Like I always say: "Never shoot down a game until you experience it first-hand."

But, then again, that doesn't mean you have to give up your game prejudices!

SO
MANY
CHOICES
Arggggghhhhhhh!
Well, right now I'm looking at Radiant Dawn, New Blood, and JoD. That would put me under murder surgery simulation and awesomeness. They have their own category, I tell you. Nothing really fits NiGHTS, and the RPG elements in Fire Emblem games come second to the story and character development.

platformers all the way...

some of my most cherished memories are from that era...
plus its just downright fun to jump around like that in the game...
it had a certain feeling to it... i cant seem to explain... but it was awesome.

Question, though: What genre would NiGHTS be considered? I've heard many people say it would be considered a platformer and I know it's classified as adventure. Although it has similarities to that of a platformer, it doesn't really have all the elements. I'm guessing it could be considered an Action/Adventure game. But then again, it seems more like a mix of that and a platformer. What do you think?

Its classified action-adventure, so I typically go with that. Although I can see the confusion, because NiD has a lot of qualities of a racing game and a flying game, to name a few. But for this poll, we will consider NiD as an action/adventure game.
