I reserved my copy for GameCube three years before it came out and also bought my Wii with it on the first day. So I have both versions.

I did enjoy TP more than OoT especially the last boss battles. but OoT will always have a special place in my heart as the first Zelda game I actually owned.

I'd give Twilight Princess 8/10. It was very solid in execution as well as a lot of fun. However, the soundtrack was one of the most mundane I've ever heard in a Zelda game. There were also way too many moments that reminded me of older Zeldas. I love the franchise, but the tried and true formula is getting stale in my opinion.

My all time favorite Zelda is and will always be Majora's Mask. The three day time limit is one of the most innovative and masterfully executed gameplay features I've ever seen come out of Nintendo. The soundtrack, story, minigames, dungeons, and mask abilities were great as well. Majora'a Mask will always be the pinacle of the series to me.

It looked decent, but I've really only played Link to the Past. (man that was a good game)

The first game in the series I played was Ocarina of Time and I loved it. I have also played Majora's Mask, but I didn't like it as much (the whole constant replay of those three days really irritated me). I absolutely adore Twilight Princess and it's my top favourite, although I've only played the Gamecube version.

Sorry, but I haven't even looked at the Twilight Princess game yet so I can't rate it. However, I have played the original Legend of Zelda for the NES and the Ocarina of Time for the N64 and saw my cousin and a friend playing A Link to the Past. Tragically, I haven't beaten either one of them, curse the Water Temple.

But despite the fact that I still can't beat it (glares at the Water Temple stage), I would have to say that Ocarina of Time is my favorite in the series (for now).

A generous 7/10, it would be much, much, much lower if I didn't have such a love for the series in general. The Wii controls were good, not great, but good. An improvement on the original scheme no doubt.

All in all however the game felt like a step backwards from both Zelda and games in general. It's understandable that the experience was jigged around a little to make it appeal to American gamers more (something they were open about from the start), but that's no excuse for the mess of narrative and poorly thought out gameplay we ended up with.

Music was instantly forgettable, Koji Kondo took a back seat in the composition, which was a shame after the awesome Wind Waker score he composed, but would have been fine if they hired talented composers to replace him. Sadly they didn't. Who can honestly bring music to their head a good 8 months after playing it? (apart from when you let the title screen go to a gameplay movie and maybe the title screen itself). Other Zelda games have memorable music for the most part.

The overall gameplay experience was hindered most by the change in the side-quest system. Instead of being optional fin set-pieces, they ended up being compulsory chores, with very little reward.

I'd write an essay on why TP is so bad, but I'm not in the mood right now, too much work.

Now OoT, MM, TWW, TMC, FS, ALTTP, those are good games. Roll on Phantom Hourglass and a real Wii Zelda.

Agreed! I finally found my way to the sub-boss after getting lost, despite me having watched my friend play it just two days before >__< I'm not looking forward to the kinda-labyrinth part or the boss battle either - I have a fear of deep, dark water. JOY.

That said, Link should be a wolf all the time : D The controll is annoying at times and it wouldn't have hurt if there was less familiar melodies, but overall I love the game.

Actually, I didn't find the Water Temple to be that bad. It took a while to get through, but at least I didn't feel the need to look up how to. My sister had to look up how to get through the Water Temple a lot in OoT because she kept on forgetting at least one part every time she went through.

From what I've seen of TP, I think I will enjoy it plenty as soon as I get to play it. I especially enjoy the graphics for some reason, but agree that the music is very forgettable. I can't even recall hearing any music, so that's... pretty bad.

The only other Zelda game I've ever played (and is currently replaying) is "Links Awakening" to the Game Boy, which I love to bits. XD I'd really like to play through the entire series sometime though, if nothing else than for discussion purposes.

TP was okay. It was pretty fun, but it was WAY too easy. I cant recall any challenge being present at all, anywhere. The puzzles were horribly simple to feeling more like chores than puzzles, I didnt feel like I "solved" anything. The enemies were even easier, and though they looked epic, I had more escaping Cuccos in the previous games than beating the bosses in TP.

Their weaknesses took two minutes to figure out, and the fights ended (AT MOST) five minutes later. Even the final fight was too easy - I noticed a reaction thing and spent half the fight taking blows out of curiosity to find out what it was. :P That's pretty sad. But it was fun regardless: that's my only issue with the game.

I enjoy the Zelda series a hell of a lot.

The way my favorites go is:

Zelda OOT
Zelda Wind Waker
Zelda MM
Zelda TP
Zelda LTTP
Zelda
Zelda 2

I wasnt a huge fan at first. the overhead view wasnt my thing and it gave me headaches.

MM, Windwaker, OoT, and LttP are easily my favorite Zelda games. I'd always get a chill up my spine as a kid when I looked up to the moon. The sense of urgency on the first cycle as Deku Link was also a nice touch, especially near the end. You truly felt powerless the first time on the cycle.

I originally didn't like Wind Waker, but it grew on me quickly, especially with how different all the islands were. Having a massive ocean with minimal walking time was a good touch, as well as the MASSIVE draw distance you saw between yourself and the islands. It really gave a sense of length to traveling the Great Sea.

As I've yet to finish TP, I can't say much on it. I got as far as the Arbiter's Ground before having to return it.

I love LTTP, its just that some of the quests were kinda tiresome. But still good! :)

Haha, when I got LTTP for my GBA (I had the SNES version from waay back but the art DIED because I played it so much), I finished it while only dying like, 2 times or something- and I got the invisibility cape and invincibility cane, too! Regarding Twilight Princess, I felt it was an awesome game, but it did to Ocarina of Time what Mario Sunshine did to Mario 64.
I love all the games in the series though, if I had to pick a favourite, it'd be Majora's Mask- I loved the amount of detail that was put into that game's world and characters (I'd spend days just stalking one character around the clock town simply becase it was fun to see when their story intertwined with other character's stories). Also, the dungeons were HARD. STONE TOWER TEMPLE = DEATH. I loved the hard temples, they reminded me of some of the Oracle of Ages puzzles, but not pointless. The bosses were a bit easy though, hm.

I also love Wind Waker, because of the amount of character the game has - it was the first time I'd ever seen any zelda characters' face so expressive (except for the mask salesman in Majora's mask *snrrrk*) and I dunno, it was just a really charming, nice game that had pirates <_< PIRATES! Also, Minnish cap was severely underrated, Ezlo is probably my favourite zelda sidekick after Tatl and Midna <.<

The Zelda games are all pretty fun, I think my favorite would have to be Link's Awakening on the GB...I've played through that game more times than I can count. Twilight Princess is decent, but I feel like the Zelda series is getting kinda tired...They need to switch it up or something. TP just kinda felt like every other home console Zelda game rolled into one, and the portable ones all seem like Link's Awakening remixed. I haven't seen much of anything about Phantom Hourglass, maybe it will be worthwhile.
