If JoD came before NiD, does that mean Jackle was created early and just locked up or was he a third First-Level that went wrong? And where would he be locked up for that matter? Did Jackle replace that chameleon in JoD? Are all planes in the Night Dimension interconnected so that multiple events on a timeline can occur at once resulting in the "Dream Drops of Remembrance" theory being correct and wrong at the same time? Could it really be that NiGHTS rebelled to protect the Nightopias?

I'm sad to be separated from my JoD and NiD/Xmas NiD right now. But my parents don't like us bringing consoles with us on trips. They say we "should be socializing instead of gaming." We do socialize, but even our granparenys at the end of the day like to sit and watch tv. We play our DS's, anyways. Maybe I'll just sneak the systems next year.

I was searching for dreamdrops earlier and I starting wondering something. Are these kids controlling their dreams or are they going along for the ride?

@iLLViLLAiN - Half and half. The kids are...basically lucid and they can change their dreamscapes... For some reason though they don't seem to grasp that they can change certain aspects of their Nightopias. Sure, Nightopias reflect your heart, it doesn't mean that everything is unmovable. Depending on what's going on though Helen and Will can change what's happening to their 'scapes.

For example, when Nightmare invades they can either allow destruction or stop it. ... It's obvious what happens. by taking an Ideya to heart (no pun intended) they can shape theirs dreams just a little more...

Of course this thought of changing dreamscapes is just a theory. It was going to be put into a fanfic, but I put it on hiatus. Too bad. I liked the whole "natural rules of a dream" thing. For instance...if it's natural in a dream world for trees to talk, that feature will only change if enough interference disrupts the dream or one becomes lucid and changes it that way. Or...it could be natural for the wind to "sing" and relate a song to someone.

Or it could be normal to go back in time a bunch of times. Who knows?

Short answer, the Wii can't change the Nightopia just right. In canon...well they were in on the ride I guess... They wanted to get their Ideya back and play with NiGHTS while protecting their hearts. I don't think it occurred to them to change a place that was a paradise/utopia.

Edit: Okay this is realllly bugging me. How many missions should there have been in the first place? There's 5 we get in-game per Nightopia, but could other missions have been added? What would have been the proper amount of missions per Nightopia?

Well, if they were lucid I'd guess they got their issues over with in a week or two because consecutive dreams that tell the same story would seem impossible without going lucid. If they weren't going lucid I'd guess that they were dreaming for about a month because I'm sure those kids would have had dreams that were totally unrelated to NiGHTS and Nightopia. Then again, if they weren't lucid and their NiGHTS dreams kept coming back every single night, I'd want to know what those kids were indulging in before going to sleep. Maybe they were playing NiD or something. Then again I don't recall either kid having anything video game related in their bedrooms. Maybe their Saturns were in the living room.

I think NiGHTS has some omniscient power to just invade otherwise normal dreams. Therefore, it's not that they kids are having NiGHTS dreams so much as NiGHTS is a scary stalker, and he should be charged with breaking and entering childrens' subconcious.

As for the kids' abilities to affect their surroundings, they do; they created it. Theorectically, the Nightopia will change if the contents of the dreamer's heart changes, and smalll things like Pians and Maren can be dealt with more efficiently. So, they are a bit Lucid, but not totally in control.
