Good news: some windmills in the level were floating like in the original. Also, your big tree is there. ;) There's even birds in the tree (nice little ones) and you can fly right through a hole in the middle of the tree, there's probably 10 blue chips in there. You also get to fly around the tree and skirt the edges.

I think i would accually scream when they ever put the demo up in the game store and would prolly scream louder when i get the game from pre ordering.

There was a tree in the original Spring Valley.


It wasn't quite the same. Here tree wasn't attached to the ground and the ground in the sky. @.@ Also it didn't have birds in it.

Y'know, upon closer inspection, it seems small.. orb.. ideya things are released every time a ring is passed through in those videos. They look like that ideya cursor thing thats used for the Wiimote only play. They generate and float up from NiGHTS himself, but sorta.. keep moving with the camera.. if you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure those are just generic sparkles, and I'm also pretty sure the pointer is just a circle with a dot in the center. Still freakishly excited tho.

To all those who don't like the pointer, in Twilight Princess you could turn it off, so I'm assuming you can do it in this game as well ^_^

Horray for all these mind-blowing updates!

I can't believe the game could go from looking like Dreamcast...TO THIS!

Looks awesome, but I do have one small problem, It seems like there is only one path of hoops to follow. In NiGHTS you could go down or up and there would be other things to collect like more hoops below or the blue orbs. This seems like you have to stick strictly to 1 very set path with out detouring.

I know this is avery small video so I wont judge yet.

Try this:

Do save target as on each video, then go to zamzar.com. Just put in the files and convert them to .avi or any other format.

I think that there is maybe a little to much room. I mean, in the original, it was all kinda cluttered, but in a good way. In all that clutter, there was also some secret to find, or some more points to get. Now it seems they've taken that away with all this space...

Hey guys,

Niraven's sneaky ninja (or what was I called here B)) here.
Thought it would be time to register myself as well.

Anyways, I've understood that the whole alps chase level wasn't shown before at all.
In that case I might have some more vids on my phone. I'll see what I can do with it.

The open-ness is relative, and I think they've done that really well.
It is indeed an open world visually, but NiGHTS' track mostly keeps close to objects (trees, hills etc.), giving that 'close' feeling despite the open world in the background. The fact that, in the set path, you can still go up/down and all around, I think (and hope for you) it should fit the exploring needs well.

I wonder how they're going to restrict the height you can fly up to in these open topped levels... Invisible barrier ? Or are they just relying on you not wanting to stray too far off course ?

I don't know really. There's probably 'some' limit, but we didn't push it that far.


However, I did notice you can go really really far up, at least the equivilant to 3 NiGHTS' lengths higher than the highest rocks or windmills when they weren't blocking your way. At that point Daniel either went back down or NiGHTS did it automatically, but either way there's a ton of room to maneuver.

Hey, man. Haha, yeah TRiPPY called you two 'ninjas' and i called you our 'undercover spies' so you're officially our Spy Ninja's. XD
Just wanted to say thanks for getting that video footage on your mobile phone. That was some serious covert stuff going on. You were practically recording from over the dudes shoulder. Not even James Bond could have achieved that, lol. XD

As for the height you can fly up to. Well, in GTA San Andreas, when you would fly a plane it would reach an invisible barrier but it done it in a way so that it would seem like there was not a barrier there. If you were climbing up higher in a plane then it would gradually level out and start flying straight when you reached the barrier, you didn't just slap bang right into it and stop moving. I think they could possibly do something like this in JoD.

Upon even closer inspection, and after a bout of playing Into Dreams, I've realised that the floating things are just score markers (10x2 etc) that appear after each consectutive link, just like in the original.
