If you were in charge of the upcoming sequel to NiD, what would it be like? What would the storyline be like? What elements would you leave out, and what elements would you keep in? Its all up to you here.
Personally, I'd have the game set several years into the future. Claris and Elliot would be long dead, and after many years a new Nightmaren lord would have arisen from the ashes of Wiseman's failure. As the new 'Wiseman' threatens to destroy Nightopeia and bring mind-crippling nightmares to humanity, 2 new dreamers (far more colorful then William and Helen) would join NiGHTS. With help from the ghosts of Claris and Elliot (fully grown), they one by one destroy the Nightmaren. Or thats how I would make it...

My idea would be set in a new city and there are two new Dreamers and the friend of the male Dreamer. I'd like to see them ethnically diverse this time; NO MORE DREAMERS WITH THE SAME HAIR AND EYE COLOUR.
The Boy Dreamer and the friend have been best friends since they were little kids but when a parent of the friend dies, they grow distant and the Dreamer doesn't understand why. As a result, he fails to do well with his special talent (i'd prefer music this time round for the male) and he fails to notice the growing affection he has for one of his neighbours (the female Dreamer), who in turn fails to do well in her special talent (i'd prefer sport for the female) as she is worried about her crush. As big events are coming their way, they are plagued of failing them because they are worried about where their loyalties lie; with those their care about or with what they love to do.
One night, the Dreamers arrive in Nightopia and befriend NiGHTS and assist him in the usual "save-Nightopia" thing. However, Wiseman is using a Dreamer to best NiGHTS-the best friend. The children must not only save Nightopia but severe the tie between Wiseman and the best friend before he loses his heart to the darkness (or some such crap).
And that is all. Lame, right?

My NiGHTS game would be a spin-off starring Reala called Reala into Nightmares... and in this game you go around collecting evil Ideya which is evil dream energy. Instead of blue chips you collect red chips which unlock the evil Ideya Captures each with their own respective Ideya. Maren do not hurt you in this game but Nightopians can so you can Drill Dash or Paraloop them into submission. The final boss is NiGHTS. You fight him in Spring Valley. It's similar to Reala's boss fight in the original NiGHTS but you're Reala this time. In the end Reala defeats NiGHTS, takes the Red Ideya, enters the real world and becomes overlord.
