Well the idea of a discussion on an 80's movie happend right after I saw the NiD JoD trailer, the scenery reminds me alot of this one fantastic dream film I saw when I was a weee tot. Little Nemo: Adventure in Slumber land was like the only dream movie I could ever recall in discussion about dream adventures being involved in books, games etc.

Anybody who was born in the 80's must remember this once fantastic film, this movie was the reason why I got soooo much into the whole dream theoy thing. :o
Is there anyone who watch this film as a kid and get the heebee-geebee nightmares from it?

Not nightmares, but I was freaked out by the Nightmare king and the train scene D: The latter because I've had nightmares like that.

I still have it on tape. I should re-watch it sometimes, if only because I remember the animations as being pretty good.

I remember I saw it a loooong time ago and I could never find it until a few years ago when I found out my boyfriend loved that movie too and knew the name. We ended up renting it and watched it, it was fun! :3

I don't remember seeing the film, however I do know they made a game for it. (If I'm not mistaken)

I've never seen (or heard of) the movie, but yes, there is a Little Nemo game on the NES.

One of my favourite movies! I loved the Nintendo game, too. I nicknamed everything "Flip" after that. And I was always drawing Icarus. XD And yeah, I did have some pretty wild dreams from watching that movie, but I don't recall having bad ones.

Loren and Purgatory, coming to you live from the Broward County Library in Hollywood! Where you can simply wander off and find a frickin' tape at the mention of it on the internet! Today folks, we will be going on a quest to "Find Nemo", but not the one with fins! And our lovely lady Loren here will be sure to use her beloved Richard's (Thats me, folks) library card, so she can steal the movie and he can take the rap!
*Canned audience cheers*

*Magically back on subject* Nemo says they're not! They're just SLEEPING! *Runs away crying*

See what I did thar? I said "Nemo" and made it okay again!

Pfft~ Anyway, yeah I really enjoy that movie and its a shame I don't know a whole lot of people who talk about it around these parts.. ((Loren, if you can find it, I'll check it out.)) I used to watch it repeatedly as a kid.

Oh my gosh my big brother and I used to watch that... and I had horrible nightmares from it! I really didn't understand it all that well I don't think... I don't remember much, but I sure as hell remember the nightmares I had!

... I'd like to watch the movie again now that I'm older. XD

I used to watch this aaaaallll the time when I was little. I remembered that I always repeated the magic phrase Nemo has to say before using the scepter, and that the black stuff used to creep me out too.
But then I rented it recently, and I have to say that I don't really like it that much anymore.

Oh wooow I remember that film!! Sadly I was so young that the only scene I remember was when a bunch of people were closing in on him and kept saying his name over and over, and the fact that he travelled through his dreams on his bed.

They don't animate them like they used to X3

HOLY GOD IS THIS THE MOVIE I THINK IT IS???? 8DDDD *googles* If it is, I've been wondering what the name of this was for a LONG time (and also why my mom didn't like me watching it).

..... *can't tell* I think it is, though.

Do you remember any specific scenes? I have a pretty good memory of what happened in the movie

Well, I remember this really scary part where there was... this stuff... and it was enveloping people (or just the king-looking guy; I only specifically remember the king-looking guy getting caught), and I remember that it was Nemo's fault, for some reason. Then I remember he's on the bed with these monster-looking things (that're really helping him for one reason or another) flying into what I think was a thundercloud (that scene played in the commercials a lot). I don't remember much else that wasn't from the commercial (I do remember him having some kind of squirrel following him around, but not that it was a flying squirrel). I started watching the movie on youtube last night (I know, I'm bad, but should I find it I'll rent it or buy it), and I think I've probably only seen parts of it that showed up on television, because I've certainly not seen the beggining, and I remember my mom would make me stop whenever she caught me watching it. It's probably a good thing, though, because 'the stuff' was really scary, and probably did give me nightmares.

Absolutely love that movie. Even got it on DVD! Although the books/comics are harder and pricier to get.

I'm normally not a huge fan of children's movies but I really like Little Nemo. I wrote a paper about it in a film class a year or two back, which provided much of my exposure (previously I had only seen TV ads from its theatrical run). I really like the name "Nemo" (Latin for "nobody") and that is part of the reason I chose my username.

I also have a book of the comics which are absolutely amazing IMO. The amount of detail in the art is fantastic and the stories provide a very interesting view of comics/life from a century ago (there is much political incorrectness though).
I would suggest this book as being the best to get. It is surprisingly inexpensive considering that it contains ALL the comics from the original run in hardcover that is fairly large. Things are scaled down (the original comics were a full newspaper page) but not enough to be too big of a problem.
