In Frozen Bell, right at the start there's this area with a lot of pians, but there are so many pians that whenever I get near it the framerate drops to like 10 fps.
What do I do? The obvious solution is to kill all the pians but... ;_; That's so mean.

Funny... I've never had this problem...
... have you hatched too many 'pians :3?! Are you using a PC Emulator, or normal Saturn?

Taken from my Gameplay Overview guide at sa.net
'If your A-life numbers start to slowdown the game (most infamously around the big tree in SV), copy your score save onto the internal memory or the back up cart, which ever one you dont keep an A-life save on. That way, you can play with clean dreams. Just remember to copy it back afterward, otherwise you will lose your new scores. '
Then just load that one up, copying over the data if you get new scores at the end of the session. I do this almost everytime I play now, as SV and SM are almost unplayerable with my a-life - and I can never bring myself to kill them all... (even though the mepians are worth 80pts lol)

There is a part where I lag right before I morph into the sled...but thats probably why, the game loading new sprites. I know its not a Pian issue cause I don't recall seeing any and I have not used A-Life (I lack a "Saturn signature" Memory card)

I had a problem in the exact area too. Except it happend when I was elliot and landed with a buttload of bluechips. If you watch this clip you will see it. Its around the 40 second area. I did not edit the speed that is exactly what happend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s0tiQ3xcRI
It really can't be helped. Just kill the pians or live with it.
