How many people here bought a Wii because it seemed like the most likely to get a NiGHTS sequel? That's one of the reasons I bought it, but I'm a diehard Nintendo (and Sega back in the day) fan, too. =3 I'm glad my favorite character is getting his second flight (pun VERY intended) on my favorite system.

I already had a Wii; i got it for my birthday a few months ago. But i might have begged for one for NiGHTS anyway if i didn't have one.

I never thought it was more likely to get a NiD sequel, but I admit that the main reason I finally got one was because of JoD XD

I wanted one before the sequel was confirmed, to be honest. PS3 too expensive, Xbox360 turns into a barbecue, and neither have games that really interest me a whole lot (Aside from MGS4, and one or two others. ).

I didn't buy it because of NiGHTS... well, technically it was a Christmas present ANYWAY. I have to say, I wouldn't buy it just for NiGHTS until next gen or something, though. Too expensive D= Still... I got into Nintendo partially through Sega. Does that redeem me any? XD

Well we got one because it looked like a lot of fun (and it is) plus JoD was a bonus. It was DiGi's B-day present he bought on a splurge.

Ditto to that. But once you buy all the stupid accessories like extra controllers, classic controler, Wii points, games, guid for Zleda game, and the usb Wi-Fi then it is about the same price as an XBox 360. Thats how Nintedo gets you. There are way too much extra crap you have to buy. (I still only have one controller. If anyone wants to play with me then they can go spend $40 and buy their own controller.)
However, having the PS3 will become more important once they start only making some movies in Blue-Ray. In fact...that is what they plan to do.

I got the Wii a couple months ago. They finally got 4 in the Wal-Mart near-by after two months of not having any. Good thing we went to Wal-Mart that day. NiGHTS, Sonic, and Zelda were the main reasons for me to buy the system.

I know how you feel. I wasn't going to get the Wii for a long while either. But my grandma won $1000 at the casino and decided to buy the Wii for me with some of the money. Heck, I only have two games for the darn system, and I won't be buying another until NiGHTS comes out. When your in College, your broke.

I'm actually borrowing my cuz's wii right now. He hates it and says it sucks and that the ps3 is better but i just laughed it off and was happy i got to hold it. i want my own though. it so much to do on there.


oh yeah also if you have a router i don't think you need to buy the wifi card thingamajiggy cuz he didn't give me his and it still worked with my router. i was on youtube and i even got to play duck hunt on internet it was AWESOME!!!

yeah I think some people overrate it too high. Im not one to diss it because I do love it's graphics but just cuz I can see five o clock shadows doesn't mean I'm gonna spend an arm and a leg just to get it. it's more of a system for graphic whores(not to sound insulting)


but anyway I think Im addicted to wii sports

You're looking at a 360 vs. Wii vs. PS3 regular. The PS3 is estimated to have a fail rate under 1%, though still more than the Wii. The 360, however, has been estimated to have a fail rate of 30-33%. RRoD, baby. Look it up.

The Wii is not so much better when it comes to duribility. I would like to know how a disc with absolutly no scraches is put into the Wii and then an error comes on and I must restart the system. Then this problem perssist 5 more times and I get pissed and play my DS and try the system later. (YEs I am putting it in the right way!)

As for the PS3...not a great investment unless all DVDs start become Blue-Ray.

I wasn't really sure when I was gonna get a new console until JoD was announced. Right now I'm still playing my PS2, so I'm biding my time until I get a Wii. I just hope I can find one when it comes time to it..

I didnt get a Wii for JOD, although right around E3 and a little before it I believe a japanese magazine had a cryptic list and NiGHTS was on it. The real reason was basically because the controller and motion sensing was EXACTLY what I had been dreaming of in a console for many years since watching people play with joypads that didnt respond to movement but were still being flung around as if it should do something. So when I saw the Wii remote I wasl ike YES FINALLY!. My first though, literally the first thing I said about this controller was "NiGHTS would f*!*ing rule on this". I dont know why I said it or what led me to think that at that moment but it sure was a harbinger of good things to come wasnt it then around E3 seeing Mario Galaxy, Zelda, SonicATSR, Monkey Ball, well it sealed the deal right there. I was oging to eat ramen for a few months and buy me a damned Wii

I got the wii for Zelda... and at the time I thought it would be the only game I would own for it for the next 4 years of collage with my lack of cash and all. I never cared much for metroid or mario and I always sucked at smash so all the huge titles that everyone else bought the wii in anticipation of weren't factors for me. Well I ran into a bit of birthday money so I got a couple other games (Need for speed and Tony hawks DHJ) which were fun for a bit, but I recently sold them in exchange for Excite Truck and RE4, no regrets there. Still for a bit I was having some doubts about weather or not the wii was worth it untill JOD was announced, now it has a purpose XD
(I'm a zelda fan boy, and yes I was perfectly willing to spend $300 just to play Zelda. I for one was not disapointed... of course I still say it didn't match Ocarina of Time's legacy but I bought that for virtual console along with all the other zeldas, so I'm happy)

so no I didn't buy wii just for JOD, but it is a large supporting factor for not selling it to a fellow fanboy.

To me the Wii seems like the console that is closest to the virtual reality that we see in cartoons. It's still gonna take some time but it's the only system I can feel like I'm in the game. I'm right now playing Call of Duty 3 and Red Steel and I'm having a lot of fun.

no, silly. Only the PS3 with its cell proccessor is powerful enough to cook while you play backwards compatible PS2 games. (PS3 can't use Guitar Hero 2)

I went to buy a Wii on free tax day, but they were out a few days before so I got another DS (I lost my other one around the winter ) I did however reserve Phantom Hourglass and I bought Pearl with it.
