NiGHTS Voice Actor...

Who would you want to voice NiGHTS?
The person could be anybody. Real Voice Actors, Normal Stage Actors, Singers, Celebrities....
...Me? Who do I want? I'm not really sure. All I can think of is 60s and 70s musicians, really. And, most of the ones I have in mind are, well, dead T-T.
So, voice it out. It can be as extreme as you want. Anyone from a Hobo you heard once to Divas and Politicians....

Also, I'd also resort to pressing the Mute button if it had ANY musical interludes. At all. Case in point being the animated Last Unicorn movie....
Lady: It is such a beautiful morning.
Guy: It is, indeed.
Lady: I just want to...
[Song muted]
Guy: So where would you like to go?
Lady: How about...?
[Song muted]
Guy: Looks like we're lost.
Lady: I know of a way at a time like this...
[Song muted]
Well... you get the point.

BTW, I won't be able to get online as much as usual starting tomorrow. I'll also be taking a few college classes ahead of time (because I is a genious of course ). So, if you need to tell me anything, now would be a good time.

Knowing sega, they'll get the guy who voices sonic to do it D: or something.

D:
OH GOD NO. I wanted to rip my ears out just imagining Shadow voicing NiGHTS. Don't ever do that again...

Dear Sega,
I've got the launch codes ready and my finger on the button. Start worrying.
Love,

The first one that came to mind was this guy, Scott Menville. A very experienced voice actor who seems to have spent his career voicing kids. He voiced the lead character of Zack way back in the animated Carmen Sandiego cartoon, and he recently voiced Robin of Teen Titans.
NiGHTS needs a youthful and mischievous voice, but with some potential for edge. This guy fits the bill, I think.

The narrator from the trailer movie.
ppffffthahaha XD Now i have that image STUCK in my head thankyouverymuch.
As for me, it's hard for me to think of him sounding any other way than what i'm used to personaly, and more annoyingly i don't think i've ever heard a voice actor that could pull him off. If they give him a really deep voice i'll be weirded out. They could really work something awesome with his voice if enough effort was applied.
It's hard to explain how i hear his voice as being. Very high with overlap, whispery and jumbled, not perfectly over humanoid like a chatshow host. Is Etheral the correct term? It sort of switches a lot. And i know that everyone hears him differently so it's very hard to reccomend an actor i'd like to see doing his character, but it would most probably end up being a female actor.

This whole post should be presented as Exhibit A in the case against NiGHTS getting a voice actor.ppffffthahaha XD Now i have that image STUCK in my head thankyouverymuch.

Alas, we've already lost that battle, so we'd best put our best collective foot forward. Luckily, I happen to have practice with this, having gone through umpteen debates on who should voice the Transformers in the movie. Granted, our track record was lousy, but still.

On a similar note, Scott McNeil would make an awesome Reala.

In a perfect world, I'd want voices to be done by proffesional voice actors either from Vancouver or Los Angeles. The person I primarily think of as a potential voice for NiGHTS is Yuri Lowenthal. I think he's a good actor with impressive vocal range. Also, his voice as Cornelius (watch the whole thing, it's worth it) seems like an uncanny fit for NiGHTS, at least in my eyes. He even has a good accent.

Whoever that tall, blond guy in the vid was, I can picture that as NiGHTS' voice.
Personally, I was all against voice acting for maren. :\ I was hoping they'd do a Tinkerbell thing.. like... uh... have NiGHTS talk in dreamlike noises rather that voice. That way, we can stay with the whole 'NO GENDER PLEASETHANKYOU!" But... I LOOSE.
I really dont know of anyone who I find fit... for me, a guy that has a girlish tone... you ever hear some people speaking, and you can't figure out the gender because how the voice sounds? One of those people could fit. 83 I'm just being wishful.
On another note, if they got the voice actor for SHADOW to do NiGHTS.... That butcher knife is looking kinda pretty...

XPI can do androgynous. My voice cracks from time to time, representing the woman inside of me trying to get out, while the man inside of me puts on a fake deep voice to maintain the little dignity he has left.
That aside, I would rather prefer someone who does well with androgyous voicing without being too cheesy. It's meant to be a masterpiece after all this time tankyuverimoch.
Translation: 3.99 (repeating of course) % chance of that guy who did Micky's voice from Makai Kingdom

Maybe they can have a Japanese voice actor that speaks English? Probably not but I bet it would be a little better. The Japanese voice actors always have more emotion and feeling in their voices when they do voice acting. However then we might have to hear NiGHTS with a very high pitch Japanese girl voice. (What is it with the Japanese girls and squicky voices.)

Yuri Lowenthal would make a good NiGHTS; i can kinda see it happening.
To be honest, i don't care if NiGHTS' voice actor is male or female specically. They just need to add that air of "Is this a "he" or a "she"?" and that will please me.

That clip of Yuri Lowenthal was very good. Take the royal edge of "Cornelius" and you'd have a pretty good voice for NiGHTS. Still, there are quite a few voice actors out there and 98% of them are unknown. Let's look a bit further and plumb the depths a bit more.
There seems to be a consensus that an androgynous voice is necessary. To that end, it seems to me that we need a voice actor with experience in voicing roles of the opposite sex. If a VA has voiced both men and women, it should be relatively easy for that VA to find some common ground between them.
How about Brianne Siddall? She's voiced Eowyn in a few LOTR games (female) and Tsukasa of .hack//SIGN (male) as well as Jr. of all three Xenosaga chapters (male again). Her whole resume is a cornucopia of species, genders and storytelling media. She could do a very good job.

I agree with TRiPPY though, it'll probably some echo-y voice on the higher side of... um... voices. I dunno, but it'll probably be a balance between boldness and wispy-ness with some echoing so it sounds all dream-like and magical.

It was meant in jest, similar to how you suggested Hasselhoff. Not nice.
If I had really meant it, I would've used the real F-word.
Re Gun6: They couldn't possibly use so many effects for NiGHTS' voice because that would be the smart thing to do.

...oh...right. <.< The voice from the original was okay...but...WATCH OUT better not be the extent of his vocabulary this time around.
Probably not. NiGHTS will probably be the character that explains how to play the game while you play it. Kinda like in Sonic when you reach certain areas and it trys to give you hints on how to clear the obsticles.

It seemed way too high-pitched to me. For the occasional interjection, it was fine. But if NiGHTS is actually going to be talking in discernible English with a bona fide VA, NiGHTS had better get a higher-quality voice than that. Otherwise, our ears might start to bleed.Maybe they will use a voice similar to the old one. Did anyone like the voice from the old game? I thought it was ok...but then again it wasn't really talking. Just making sound effects...

'C'mon, kid, hurry up! Jump with the A button if need be...'
'By connected the sparkles that trail from my hands, you can create a vortex called a paraloop.'
'Hmm, Reala's as fast as I am, and he can fly as well too. Maybe if we could lure him into a paraloop...'
'Fatso here doesn't look like he could take a fall into that spike pit without losing some air...why don't we give it a try, eh, Helen?'

That is the one nice thing about female English voice actors...they don't make your ears bleed. I can't stand playing Sonic on the Wii in Japanese because I don't like Shara's voice. I especially hated her voice everytime she screamed. They better not make NiGHTS do that.
Also EZEKiAL...lol! That is probably exactly what they are going to make him say. Its pretty corny like that...
Oh and at the ending when you get your score they will have him say some cheesy catch phrase depending on how you did.

'Hmm...not bad...for a human.'
'Pfft, I've seen better.'
'Wow...you really ARE bad at this game, aren't you?'
(yes, I think it would be awesome if NiGHTS broke the fourth wall a few times)
'Gee, kid, you stink.'
'UGH. HURTING IT DOES.'
'Dude, ---- this. Go play a freaking Sonic game, newb.'

ignore ty[pos. drunk.
But I like my fod....
Also thanks again EZEKiAL. I laugh so much I almost woke up my grandparents. The first one will most probably be in the game, and I would love to hear NiGHTS say "Hurting it does" or have some kind of smart mouth. However, the last one doesn't make much sense to me because I always found NiGHTS to be a lot easier than any Sonic game. Even the Sonic games that came before NiGHTS were harder to beat. (BUt that is probably due to the lack of save files....)

I said that because quite simply...
NiGHTS > Sonic
NiGHTS is basically insulting his co-worker for being such a glory hog (no pun intended) all these years.

BUt, yah. Whoever brought up the idea of a VA who did both genders before sounds great.
For some reason, I can see NiGHTS' with whoever did the voice of Peter Pan in the Disney version. O_o
Hey, what about Tom Kenny? O_o He voiced Spyro the Dragon in the last 2 of the 3 games for Playstation, voices Spongebob, and so many others. He can change his voice where it need be, and I'm SURE he could do a mixed kind of sound for NiGHTS. O_o

Scott McNeil would probably make an excellent voice actor for Reala (thinks of Kouga from InuYasha and Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing).
Yuri Lowenthal for NiGHTS... (thinks of Haseo from .hack//G.U. and Sasuke from Naruto) sounds good.
One could also consider the woman who played as Envy from the FullMetal Alchemist series, she did an androgynous character pretty well. Or even Mona Marshall (Koushiro from Digimon, Kite from .hack), she can bounce between male and female voices.
