This afternoon, I'll be buying a Saturn from somebody on craigslist. I've got my fingers crossed that it works since I won't be able to test it until I get home, but the guy seems like a good guy and the price isn't bad.
My next step is to find NiGHTS for a decent price (and probably the 3D controller since the Saturn just comes with a couple 3rd party controllers). In the meantime, I guess I'll have Dragon Force to play.
What's a reasonable price for NiGHTS now, anyway?

I briefly glanced on eBay a short time ago and noticed a NiGHTS w/controller bundle going for a full $60.. but don't take my word for it
Good luck! Hope you get to enjoy the game.

If it's over $40, you're getting ripped-off :/. End of story.
$15-$35 sounds like a reasonable/normal price. I got NiD when it first came out, so I can't quite help >.<, but if it's over $40, don't bid XD. I'd bid on something under $35 on eBay, if I were in your case :3.

I'm trying to think of what my sister paid for our copy of NiD off eBay. She got an awesome deal though, a Saturn, NiD, two types of controllers, and a couple of other Saturn games for about $80 I believe. If you can get a package like that, it's well worth the money.

I disagree because I bought a fully working copy of NiD for 45 dollars. There wasn't a decent price in sight with the other people, plus the quality of the products were questionable.

I can understand what you're saying. Still, I've heard people say $50 for NiGHTS is a rip off :/. It is, in a way. Not because the game is good or bad, or is in a good or bad condition, but how much money one is willing to spend, and the prices another place has. And, the game is only $20 at amazon, and an extra $20 for the controller and game (for those who can't add , that's about $40 for both together in a package). Although, I can understand the quality issue. It's all personal prefrence ^-^!I disagree because I bought a fully working copy of NiD for 45 dollars. Slightly off subject, but some thoughts:
Other places you might want to consider looking for a copy would be local flea markets and/or thrift stores. Thrift stores sometimes have video games and they're usually dirt cheap (I picked up a bag of 25+ super nintendo games a while back for less than $20, plus other titles for my collections and they're usually under $5). Flea markets are good, too, because there is usually at least one video game guy that is either well-versed in the topic, or just has tons of crap that he collected from way back when because he's got that personality disorder and collects everything.. but both are very fair in their prices. I missed a very tasty opportunity to snag a copy of NiD with a booklet at my local flea' -- the one I bought off Amazon was unfortunately lacking one, but it was ~$10, used/good condition.
...but that's without a controller.. and, also before the word JoD was coming out. There's a bit of price gouging going on out there.

You might consider trying ebays from different countries (the p&p might me more reasonable than you think).
I just recently bought my copy of NiGHTS and a Saturn.
In the english Ebay.co.uk, NiGHTS with controllers went for horrendous prices like 30 pounds (60 $) for the game and controller. I went to the german ebay.de and found the same for about 20 (30$) euros which is the one I bought. Original boxes and perfect condition.
Then the folowing week I checked german ebay again and saw Christmas NiGHTS (in cardboard sleeve) and the normal NiGHTS game (sadly without the original box but with manual) for 3 euros (4.5$) so I snapped that up right away too xD
It seems in the german ebay the game doesn't appear that often but when it does nobody is interested so you can get it for cheap. In the english ebay it apears more often but people will be fighting for it.
You can tell I've been stalking ebay for weeks ._.

I got my Saturn for $50 off Ebay, the NiD controller for $7 (including shipping) and the game itself for $35 (I think the shipping was free for this). There are a lot more auctions on Ebay right now than there were when I bought the game, so I imagine that you shouldn't have much trouble getting the game for less than $35 if you're using Ebay.

I'll probably check the flea market this weekend. I know a guy who runs a video game booth there, so if he doesn't have it, he'll likely know where I can find it. I might check out some thrift stores, too. I didn't think of that. That's a pretty good idea.
On a completely unrelated note: Dragon Force seems incredibly complex. I'm totally lost! Heheh.

It turns out a friend of mine owns NiGHTS, but doesn't have all the stuff to make his Saturn run, so he let me borrow it so I could try it out. I'm pretty terrible at it so far, but it's a lot of fun! I'm stucking using the digital controller, but it's not as bad as I was expecting.
So far, I think my highest rank on any of the stages is a C (on Soft Museum).
EDIT: Actually, my friend never actually played the game before. It was just given to him by somebody else. Thanks to all of you, I already knew the basics of how to play the game (collecting chips and breaking Ideya captures and trying to get as much as I could before Bonus Time runs out). He had a hard time believing I hadn't played it before either because he had absolutely no idea what was going on. It was pretty funny.
Also, I now have a C rank on Spring Valley. Movin' up! Heheh.
