So, it's clear that NiGHTS' 20th Anniversary is approaching soon during the summer, and knowing SEGA, I believe they at least have something to offer in terms of NiGHTS-related content, seeing as how they managed to give her at least a small cameo in Sonic Runners, have approved for the marvelously expensive statue creation, and give NiGHTS at least a passing shout out in the Sonic Lost World game.

 

So, I don't have my hopes extremely high that a new game would come out (but if it did I would gladly sell SEGA my soul for it), and even though this site barely gets traffic aside from one or two people, i'm just curious:

 

 

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FOR THE 20th ANNIVERSARY?

 

Will it simply be the acknowledgement and nothing at all? Or maybe something as large as a next series title?

 

To be honest, It's been so long and at this point the bread crumbs that are Sonic cameos is all I expect.

I'm not setting my hopes beyond an acknowledgement. Interestingly we've still barely heard a word about Sonic's 25th anniversary plans. Real hush hush.. Maybe NiGHTS could get another Sonic in-game cameo since he has a notable anniversary this year too.

Maybe there'll be a real NiGHTS themed level in the 25th anniversary Sonic game, Nightmare Zone was a pretty big let down. Although, the guys that made SEGA 3D Classics Collection are super into a possible Saturn 3D Classics collection, but that's up to SEGA. I personally think it'd fix some of the, "wait, that item's behind/in front of the plane I'm on, so I can't get it" problems. Hopefully if they do, they'll directly rip everything from the Saturn version and not that piss-poor excuse for an HD port.

Well, you got your T-Shirt design contest. Celebratory video? Livestream? Art contest? Any sort of media? Pfft. I dont know myself. I think I'll stick to being extremely excited for possible nothing.

It would be nice if Data Discs announced the OST on vinyl since they have a nice Sega collection going on.

 

The First4Figures statue was something I never thought we would see, so who knows what we could get.

Sadly I am not expecting much aside from a mention by Sega, but who knows? It's been so many years since JoD but I'll never stop hoping for a new game. Personally I might just make some NiGHTS cupcakes. Made those once before and they were pretty neat! Purple cake with pink icing and star sprinkles. :3

That's sad to think about. ;_; I might make a Christmas NiGHTS costume this holiday season for a convention where I live called Holiday Matsuri, Another way to celebrate the 20th anniversary later into the year.

Not even surprised, but what does make me feel curious is that there isn't any major products like plushies or something being released celebrating the years. Feels lonely.

I know, they re-released the NiGHTS Storybook with the PS2 release at least, but it's been bugging me for years why they never did the same with the UFO plush toys.

Its basically the Steam/360/PS3 version of the game that was released a while ago, but it was only made available in Japan.
