In one of the early episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, there's an evacuation announcement, and the camera cuts to different people's reactions. When it cuts to Shinji's 2 school friends, you can see them playing a SEGA Saturn. I mean, it's not really NiGHTS, but it certainly is something, not to mention that it's interesting because there were like 4 Evangelion games on Saturn.
