I bought NiGHTS on Steam last year. I didn't play it as much as I would have liked to because my life was wrapped up in work for a while and my laptop isn't exactly built for gaming. Recently, as in like two days ago, I bought NiGHTS again on the PSN. I had planned on buying it on the PS3 when it was first introduced but I didn't have my console with me where I was. I did, however, eventually buy a laptop so I ended up getting it off Steam which proved to be a sometimes smooth, sometimes choppy experience for unprepared laptop. As we all know, that is no way to play this game. Carrying on, playing NiGHTS again after so many months almost feels like playing it for the very first time. So many awesome memories are coming back to me. The music, the scenery, the scoring system; I loved it all and I'm happy to have finally been able to enjoy this spectacular game the right way again.

With all that said, I want to ask all of you something. Are you still playing NiGHTS? If not, when was the last time you flew with the purple-clad hero?

I actually did the opposite of you; when NiGHTS HD came out, I got it on PSN and played it, and just a few weeks ago I bought it on Steam cause it was on sale. And I played it all the way through again and life was good. I know what you mean though, after a long while of not picking it up, it still has that charm and magic that it did the very first time I played it. I even got my brother (who has been adamant for years on not playing due to thinking he wouldn't like it) to play it this time around too. And guess what. He DID like it. So HA.

I'm going to attempt to play it slightly more often than I have been. It's just a beautiful game all around.

I make an effort to play it and Christmas NiGHTS at least once a year, typically in December if you can believe that :P I bought the rerelease for the 360 originally, though just recently got it for the PS3 aswell! I was only buying it because it was advertised in GAME with a little card you took to the desk to purchase the code, and I really wanted the card because merch is merch no matter how flimsy and papery lol! Apparently they have to keep all those cards though, so I didn't get to keep it :'( Didn't regret getting the game again though, it was just an excuse to play it again!

I'm really bad for just playing Spring Valley though, and just fighting the bosses through the menu as opposed to doing the other levels. I of course enjoy the other levels, hell Mystic Forest is probably my favourite for atmosphere alone, I'm just lazy after all these years playing it :P

The last time I remember playing was around last October - I remember because I went to a college open house and I was really inspired by the statues and atmosphere of the place. It reminded me of the things I love and really got me pumped to draw and play old video games. I was stressed the day before, but something about that day really got me in gear. I pulled out my Sega Saturn and hooked it up, and I played for a few hours until I had to go to work instead of brooding and dreading work.

I like to play it around the holidays a lot because my Sega Saturn was actually a Christmas present from my older brother, which was really sweet of him because I spent so much time in 8th grade and 9th grade trying to buy a Saturn and the game, and he bought one for me for Christmas when I was in 9th grade. I think my favorite level is Soft Museum - I find myself replaying that level constantly because the music is so nice and the level itself is so colorful! :D

I still play it about once a week - trying to beat that 1 million score for Spring Valley on the leader board for the xbox. And about once a month on my projector for visual overload (too big to play for scores)
