So here we are back on the NiGHTS forums.  What's everyone doing with their life?  Jobs?  Still in school?  Exciting living situation?  Creative works with your name attached?  Weird hobbies?  Video games mastered?  Have kids?  SHARE WHAT YOU FEEL LIKE SHARING!

So I'm working as the local history librarian for a small city in upstate New York.  It's unfortunately only a part-time job, but I feel like I'm doing something that matters, make a pretty excellent hourly rate, and am SLOWLY CLAWING MY WAY UP the proverbial ladder of library-land.  Plus INVESTING MONEY because that's what you're supposed to do!
I've recently taken up the hobby of metal detecting, which I think is pretty exciting even though I've yet to find anything particularly valuable.  On the video game-front, I've been playing Final Fantasy XI as part of my epic quest to beat Final Fantasy I-XII in order.  I've also been playing Beatmania IIDX, which is an insanely difficult rhythm game by Konami but is also PRETTY FUN.

I've also been pretty voracious in my anime-consuming habits.  I've gotten into collecting imported laserdiscs of things that were never released in the US.  Because I can be a total snob or something. :P

That's all I can think of at the moment...

So how are you living your life these days?

I am incredibly jealous of your progress in the quest for the Holy Librarian Grail- I just volunteer to pretend to be a librarian on weekends.

I myself have been very busy HAVING A JOB, which is new and exciting and scary even though it's part time and hard work and I've been doing it for about 8 months. The rest of my free time has been taken up by trying to clear my games backlog (and failing, damn you Animal Crossing!) and keeping in touch with my friends.

And Tumblr. Lots and lots of Tumblr. *shakes fist*

Why can't we thumbs up posts.. <3

I've been in between weird jobs, conventions, gearing up for college, and cooking lots of tasty foods... and waiting for the forums to come back on line to ban spambots, but looks like that aspect of my job is already handled.

I've had some good, some bad. I've been going to college and raising my GPA out of hope that I'll get a job at the college. I think Lab Student Aid would look good on my resume, don't you think. As for anything else, I'm thinking of starting a YouTube gaming show, but I don't want to do just standard Let's Play videos. I'd like to do something new and funny that would express my love for games and how they enriched my childhood. I'd also like to master lucid dreaming one day because, while video games are good, I need something deeper in my life right now. I'd like to go on new adventures that go beyond the restrictions of software programming and hardware limitations.

As for the bad... well, to put it short, I've been suffering from an anxiety disorder for three years and I have yet to find the solution. I tried medication, supplements, exercise, talk therapy, yoga, as well as just ignoring it, but to no avail. I'm not sure if this is even the place to talk about such things, but I would appreciate any advise from current or ex-sufferers of anxiety. Should I create a new thread about this here, or should I keep it to PM?

Duplex ~ Go for it, start a new topic about anxiety ^^ If you make it a general topic others can discuss their tips and probs. I suffer from it too so it's always nice to try share some wisdom :)

As for me, lets see... well in January I officially left SEGA to start my own art company. So now I'm a full time freelance artist for lots of companies and people. It's kinda cool being freelancer because it means you can work for all sorts of companies and industries without being tied down to one thing, so my job changes a lot day to day. This also makes it a bit scary though. Very up and down. I also had to learn a lot about running a business and dealing with all the financial bits just from research online. It's all great though, very satisfying. I get paid for drawing cartoons :3 I tend to think of this most when I'm eating breakfast and realise 'hey this toast was supplied by art!' ... 'that's... weird'.

I moved house again in July. I feel a bit moved in now, but i still have furniture to buy and things i need for the office. Working from home is cool but it means less space in your room. I think right now my dream is to have actual studio space to rent.

There's tons of things i want to do now. So many projects i want to try my hand at.

Trying to get back into the community as a fan since i'm now able to. Now I can just speak my opinions and EXCITE again, haha.

Really looking forward to getting this place all nice to be again :)

I recently joined the forums; other than that, most of my time has been spent drawing or writing (I, uh, am not employed at this time). Pretty sure I'm getting better at hands.

Well, I'm also a newb here to the forums, as I semi-am to the fandom. (I've been a fan for a while, but I only recently actually started participating in the fandom itself.)

I've had a few jobs but none never stuck, other then that I am an aspiring... Well, that's the funny part. I have no idea what I want to do. I have talents in writing and in drawing, a vivid imagination and an interest in everything. I'm stuck in deciding if I want to make comic books or write novels. Though, I could probably do both... Ahh, sorry for rambling.

I'm working on starting commissions to earn some money due to recent job searches being a bust. I'm also planning to move to Oregon eventually, which is quite the way from New York... That's a bit nerve wracking.

Well, It's a pleasure to meet you all. I hope that we can be friends int he future.

Well, I graduated from college a few years ago and have been trying to get into grad school. I've had some ups and downs in regards to that and have been kind of stuck in the rut known as depression, but things have finally started clearing up (but I am not going to go into details). But aside from that, I am getting back to my studies and my sister and I are thinking of publishing some of our comics online.

It's good to see everyone again (and to see some new faces...er avatars).

I'm currently in College getting a degree in entertainment design and hoping I'll be able to find something awesome to do for a living if the student loans don't kill me, other then that the only thing of note is I became a tumblr junkie haha. Boy does this place make me nostalgic. I'll have to keep checking in every now and again!

Good to see the lot of you are doing well. Last year I up and joined the military so that's what I'm doing. I've completed my first year now. It's got it's ups and downs. I'm playing quite a bit of GTA Online. It's fun sometimes while other times I have no idea why I bother. Been getting into Toonami too. I never had the opportunity to watch it whenever I wished when I was a kid so I guess you could say I'm filling a void. Glad they put FLCL on their schedule. Love that show and it's music.

Where do I even begin? I haven't been on the forums in ages.

I was able to finish with college but am still stuck with a large amount of debt and no real decent job to show for it. Been working Part-Time at Dollar General while living with bf and just slowly hanging in there. But hey, times are still fun. Lots of games to play and things to see. Normally I'm not too active with forums so much as I am with tumblr. But that is another story in itself.

Sorry I haven't been so active as of late. I feel my feelings for the fandom comes and goes. But compared to everything else, NiGHTS always seems to stick with me and I try to remember all the good times to have been had here. Maybe I can make more of an active effort to say hello a bit more often? XD

Sorry to be such a downer with my post. I really am happy to see this place still alive and going. There is no telling what the future may bring.

Resurrecting this topic cause I'm cool like that.

Let's see. Well seeing as I haven't been active in the community in about 2 years, a lot has happened I guess. I'm going into my third year of college/university as a physician assistant major. Classes keep me way busy (ie: I barely have a life during the academic year), but I'm excited to go out and save some lives and start paying off my mountains of student debt in a short 3 more years! I volunteer at a hospital as well over the summers. Also, I've managed to start a pep band at my college and I've joined a sorority as well. So naturally I have about 10 minutes of total free time a day. :P

Much like Yami said, I tend to come and go from this fandom. I recently convinced my older brother to play NiGHTS for the very first time a few days ago, and it kinda motivated me to drop back in with you guys. Besides that, some games I've been playing recently are Sonic (naturally), Borderlands 2, Animal Crossing, LittleBigPlanet 2, the Sly Cooper series, Journey, and a decent amount of PSN and Steam indie games.

I graduated college last year in December with a BA in writing. I'm currently trying to get a job in that field, but I fill my time with useful activities like writing a daily music blog. I also play guitar in a rock band.

Gosh, a lot has happened since I left the fandom.  I kind of just fell off, then realized that I was happy.  I tried to join the bronies, but that ended with sadness since I'm a woman (ironically).

I have been going through five years of college, and finished all of my classes.  I am waiting in the mail for my degree in English, which will take time.  I have written a series of creative essays on all kinds roleplaying games for my senior capstone project.  This ranges from Pathfinder to The Mind's Eye Society. I have fallen to an interest in writing about fandoms, but I need to do more research, and pick which fandoms to write about.

I am looking for a job since my skills in writing won't put food on the table.  Kind of the downer with art.

I graduated community college with an Associates in Liberal Arts, but I was on the fence about where I wanted to go next and what I wanted to do still (even though that was the point of me going to CC -_-;). So after talking with my parents I'm back at community college and I'm working on a degree in game programming. I'm also a student worker at college and I live at home since the commute isn't too bad and I can drive myself there now.

My best friend and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary of being friends this month, so that's exciting (and she goes to CC with me so it's even better)! As for video games, right now I'm playing Pokemon HeartGold and trying to beat Resonance of Fate, and then after that I continue down the list of games that I have that I've yet to beat (which is actually a very long list).

I'm not reading any particularly interesting books at the moment. I was about to start reading Catching Fire, but I can't remember where I put my copy. I have to look for it and I'm hoping it's lost in my room and not somewhere else! That's about it as far as what I'm currently up to, nothing too crazy as you can see.

Well, guess this another place to get back into.

It's been AGES since I've been to this corner of the net, and truthfully, I do feel kind of bad.  Been busy these past couple years with work, meeting some new people, telling some of those new people to go jump off a cliff, getting involved with a couple conventions, and some other odds & ends.

About my job.  Well, I've been a licensed security guard for about 2 1/2 years (no I do not carry a gun), and while it's not the most glamourous, it pays the bills, keeps me (and my mom) fed, and helps keep my head above water.  Though truthfully, I've been on the hunt for another job.  I won't go into details, but let's just say I grow tired of babysitting.  Not much else has changed, which in a way is a good thing, but trying to get into better things is easier said than done.  Uh, what else?  I got nothing else, but if anyone is curious, I'm down to answering stuff.

So yeah, striker0 is back, and I will put more effort into coming here more often.  :)
