I was actually compiling a list of reviews I found, here's what I got up until now:

1Up (B-)
"If you've never played it, you should; and if you have, another flight through Nightopia won't hurt."
http://www.1up.com/r...-real-inception

The Escapist (4,5/5)
"NiGHTS into Dreams is a meaningful game wrapped in a package of challenging yet thoroughly enjoyable gameplay."
http://www.escapistm...o-Dreams-Review

TSSZ Beyond Blue (2,5/5)
"Everything you do in a game hinges on the controls working as intended, and the controls in NiGHTS HD just do not feel like they should. It may not be so bad as to ruin the game, but it’s a big enough issue that I don’t feel wholly comfortable recommending this version of NiGHTS – especially to veterans looking to replace their old Sega Saturn versions. Try the demo first and proceed with caution."
http://www.tssznews....ox-live-arcade/

New Gamer nation (7,5/10)
"It would be wise to consider adding this game to your library."
http://www.newgamern...into-dreams-hd/

Official XBox Magazine Online (8/10)
"NiGHTS is like the dreams it’s based on: it’s easy to dismiss as silly nonsense, but when you dig deeper into it, you’ll find something beautiful and revelatory."
http://www.oxmonline...reams-hd-review

PSN Fans (Score: "Buy it")
http://www.psnfans.c...w-psn-8729.html
"SEGA has given this game the proper porting treatment it deserves, and hopefully gamers unfamiliar with NiGHTS will give him a twirl, and gamers familiar with the character will cherish him all over again sixteen years later."

Games Asylum
"Learning the level layouts like the back of your hand in order to top the leaderboards takes an awfully long time, and if you’re anything like us you’ll love every second of it."
http://www.gamesasyl...box-360-review/

God is a Geek (8/10)
http://www.godisagee...-dreams-review/ ->
"NiGHTS into DREAMS… may not have sold many Saturn consoles sixteen years ago, but is a beautiful piece of gaming history, that may look like a mid 90s SEGA release, but plays like very little that has been released since."

Stick twiddlers (3/5)
"It’s not a perfect game by any means, games today are more refined and we don’t easily accept faults like we used to, but with NiGHTS we can see past those faults and see how much fun it is to fly."
http://sticktwiddler...eams-hd-review/

360 Gamer (8/10)
"Despite it's age, NiGHTS into dreams remains one of the most insane and addictive titles any gamer could hope for. Filled with brilliant colours, great sounds and huge levels (for the 90’s at least) you really couldn't ask for anything more - even at 800MSP."
http://www.360-gamer...hts-into-dreams

Post it gamer (4/5)
"It is a beautifully crafted HD version that faithfully recaptures the dreamlike gameplay gamers fell in love with, but its simplistic premise and lack of explanation may not capture today’s plot-driven audience."
http://www.postitgam...eams-hd-review/

Gaming Illustrated (80%)
"NiGHTS into Dreams certainly wasn’t the game I thought it was all those years ago. Actually, it fits along quite nicely with many games offered today. It is a pure gameplay experience because it begs to be played over and over to fully master it."
http://gamingillustr...box-360-review/

Gaming Nexus (8/10)
"As a Saturn game, NiGHTS into Dreams under-delivered. Sixteen years later it's easy to see why, but that shouldn't keep you from playing through this bizarre dreamscape. Just be ready for some frustrating boss fights and linear flying stages!"
http://www.gamingnex...s/Item3701.aspx

Videogamer.com (8/10)
"There's just nothing else quite like it. NiGHTS HD doesn't transition as elegantly into 2012 as it deserves, then, but it's clear this 16-year-old cult classic still knows how to soar."
http://www.videogame...ams/review.html

True Achievements (4/5)
"Ultimately, one’s enjoyment of NiGHTS is going to boil down to whether or not you had a fondness for it going in. In today’s landscape, it’s an average to slightly-above-average platformer that still carries its unique flying twist. For those who grew up with it, it’s a well-crafted upgrade of a title that let us see into 3D on a console that technically had little business doing so."
http://www.trueachie...into-dreams.htm

Put That Back (3/5)
"Normally if I were to discuss the intricacies of the controls for NiGHTs into Dreams I’d talk up how absolutely flawless they are...
However instead of the full range of movement available in the original the NiGHTs move in only eight directions. Somewhere in the process between porting the PS2 version to the PS3 a mistake had to have been made."

http://putthatback.o...ts-into-dreams/

Super Poly Pixel (7/10)
"2012 is just not a time for a game like Nights. In a world where so many games are vying for your attention, it just can’t compete with games that are just better at explaining their intentions and designs faster. Still, I’ll never forget you Nights!"
http://www.superpoly...into-dreams-hd/

Plus XP (6/10)
http://www.plusxp.co...eams-hd-review/
"It may not be perfect, but either way it’s a great way to enjoy the original Nights experience on today’s consoles."

The Gaming Vault
"Overall the game is short and somewhat shallow with some rough visuals, but the gameplay that IS there is still damn fun."

Joystiq
"Maybe I'm a sap (okay, I probably am), but I think everyone should play Nights into Dreams at least once."
http://www.joystiq.c...ts-into-dreams/

NOW Gamer (9,6/10)
"Sega’s game remains an utterly unique experience, which has benefited greatly from its high-definition update. It’s further proof that when it comes to updating past classics no one is currently doing it better than Sega."
http://www.nowgamer....ams_review.html

The Utah Statesman (B+)
"NiGHTS Into Dreams… remains an extremely simple and playable, albeit not necessarily accessible experience. For those who can get past its slightly dated exterior and weird story and don’t mind replaying stages multiple times, this surreal and fun little romp through a luminous dream world filled with quirky characters, large locations, and gargantuan dragons that want to eat you shouldn’t be missed."
http://www.usustates...reams-1.2777764

Games radar (3,5/5)
"Nights into Dreams HD is a great entry point for gamers who’ve read about the series over the years, but might be curious what all the fuss is about. In some regards, it comes off as a tad simplistic, but it’s easy to see where the qualities of the game lie, and why it gained such a cult following over the sixteen years. If you’ve never experienced this Sega classic, it’s a fun and imaginative romp that’s worth checking out."
http://www.gamesrada...eams-hd-review/

Gamespot (7.0/10)
"Nights Into Dreams is short and sometimes frustrating, but that doesn't prevent it from being magical."
http://www.gamespot....review-6397704/

EGM (8.0/10)
"The concepts and challenges of NiGHTS into Dreams HD make it a game that not everybody will be able to appreciate—but for those that do, this is a great way to once again experience one of Sega’s most curious yet creative moments in game development."
http://www.egmnow.co...into-dreams-hd/

Gamestyle (8/10)
"If SEGA can continue to produce re-releases of this quality, then they are on to a winner. NiGHTS is a dream, it plays as you remember and thanks to the HD enhancement, it invokes your best memories of the original. It is complete fan service, possibly not one for newcomers, but certainly for those who enjoyed the experience in 1996."
http://gamestyle.com...ts-into-dreams/

LeadExample (7/10)
"So what is the main conclusion?, many may want to try this out as it’s a fast paced race against time and points, where as others may want to try before they buy. For the price the game offers quite a lot."
http://leadexample.n...o-dreams-review

Game Reactor (8/10)
"Nights stands the test of time and even now, sixteen years later, is still as original and unique as it was on its first release. For the right type of gamer, this is definitely worth picking up."
http://www.gamereact...s: Into Dreams/

XBLA Ratings
"The atmosphere of NiGHTS is unlike that of any game I have played. It is so light-hearted and fun that it is easy to see why, even after so many years of its debut that it is wanted back. I suggest that everyone buys this game if you want some good, clean hearted fun and experience one of the best games of past generations."
http://xblaratings.c...o-dreams-review

Blistered Thumbs
"Fans of the original should pick this HD version up and take to the friendly skies once again, but newcomers can probably give it a pass unless they’re just in it for the history lesson."
http://www.blistered...eams-hd-review/

Gamesbeat (60/100)
"As a modern adult with a job and children of my own (whom I couldn’t get to even play through more than one nightmare, even with bribes), Nights into Dreams HD isn’t for me. Whether it’s worth the $10 admission price will more be up to your individual taste — and perhaps an interest in reliving your youth — than anything else."
http://venturebeat.c...stalgia-review/

All about the games
"When it clicks, and it will click, it's an experience that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Bravo Sega, these HD upgrades are opening the doors back up on a forgotten age of gaming, the one were everything was full of fun, blue skies and chasing high scores. Give it a try if you haven't already, and if you have then I suspect you already bought it as soon as it hit the store."
http://www.allaboutt...rticle_id=12529

Defunct Games(B-)
"NiGHTS into Dreams is not answer to Sega's Super Mario 64; it's not a game that will change the way you look at video games. It's an interesting take on a platformer with a truly unique sense of style. The price is right, even if some of the design decisions seem archaic by today's standards. Whatever you do, don't sleep through NiGHTS into Dreams."
http://www.defunctga...hts-into-dreams

Gamezone (8/10)
"I enjoyed NiGHTS Into Dreams HD more than Sonic Adventure 2, because, as a whole, it's way more accessible, and packed with more than enough extras, particularly Christmas NiGHTS."

Push Square (9/10)
"NiGHTS is an important game for many reasons. Perhaps the most prevalent is that it shows creative thinking and unique ideas can create a game that is not only well-loved at its release, but also stands the test of time for future generations to enjoy."

Giant Bomb's weighed in and it's not pretty...

SEGA really, really dropped the ball by not including proper instructions. Something as simple as a five minute tutorial video would've helped new players immensely and prevented people from writing the game off like this...

Those guys are everything that's wrong with gaming today. At least learn how to play a game before evaluating it. The comments are no better either.

Well to be fair, the ingame manual does explain everything that a new player needs to know. The "reviewers" in question actually showed the manual but didn't bother to read it, since otherwise they couldn't bash the game as easily. I don't see what the point is behind the video, since it's just a waste of time for both the people that made it and the viewers.

A pitiful review. What's really sad about this is these guys sound old enough to know better.

Obviously if gameplay isn't spoon-fed to them and the concept isn't familiar, they lose interest quickly. The gameplay is painful to watch.

If you place a valuable diamond in front of a pig, the pig will push it around a bit with it's snout and lose interest quickly, preferring to wander off and roll around in it's own filth. That is what has happened here.

There is a glowing two page review (96%) of Nights HD in the latest issue of Retro Gamer. http://www.retrogamer.net/ I think you'll have to buy the magazine to read it though.
