Ray-ah-luh

And everyone in town makes fun of me for it, too! For, I have absoluteley NO southern accent, which is a point of irritation to many.

ree-AHL-uh Sounds just a touch too feminine, though. Then again, that could just be the name.

Reela sounds like a fishing thing to me. Reala just sounds better, (to me) because of the phonics.

Ree-la here as well. XD lol It's how I've always said it, so it's hard to remember how to say it correctly. Hehehe Glad I'm not the only one who says it that way.

I've always tied him in with "Reality", so I pronounce it like that.

Ree-ah-la.
Me and my friends made a short documentary, with this one girl in our school who has black and red hair, and has black lipstick and eyeliner all the time. We call her Kayala (Kayla + Reala? Get it?). If we pronounced it Reela, then... :P our funmaking just wouldn't work.
But I call him that just cuz. I think Reela sounds more feminine, and Reala does NOT look like a girl.

I think I saw one, and only one, other person say this before besides me. That, and all my offline friends/family who know who Reala is pronounce it this way.:
Rel - a

Think of Relish, minus the -ish, and add a short -a (vowels, people XD?).

I blame pronouncing him like that from me older siblings playing NiGHTS when I was a very young age, the text-to-speech people, and the fact that it sounds kinda American to me. And vicious. It's quick and easy to say, and it kinda sounds vicious. Yah >.>! But, I mostly decided to pronounce his name like that more than anything. THAT, and I once called him "Relish" once when I was really young. X.x! BAD mistake to make D:!

I sort of bounce between two (Ree-la and Ree-ala) but I'm tending to use the second more often now.

I've heard Ree-ala and Ree-la so many times that I just swap between the two at random. Sometimes I use "Rella" if I feel like insulting him.

I beleive the Nightmarens' names (including NiGHTS) can't really be translated into a mere human tongue. They're made of too much nonreality for that...

I''m the ONLY one so far who pronounces it my way? Awww... :P
I just think that with him looking like a guy, yet supposed to be androgynous, a more feminine name fits in, right? I don't know, but that's how I think of it.

I pronounce it somewhere in between Ray-luh and Ray-a-luh. The only problem with the first is that it sounds very similar to the title of a song by Derek and the Dominoes...

When I was younger I never payed attention to ingame texts, (I used to think all games were mute) but the little I did pay attention to got me "Real-O". I kind of stuck with that, even though I know better.

I say "ree-lah" though it sounds more like "ree-ler" with my accent. X3 I never ever saw a link to "reality" until I came into the fandom. I just pronounced it the same way I say "real" with an "a" on the end. Reeler. XD

I mean, no one pronouces "real" as "ree-al" unless they're talking about that Spanish football team...

Hmm... Reala Madrid... XD

*shrugs* Makes sense.

I always wondered where the name "NiGHTS" came from. And why is a nightmare named after reality? Seems to me that if these names were just crude approximations, that would explain a fair bit.

Who knows where NiGHTS came from. After all, Yuji Naka had the idea in his head since the finish of Sonic 2, so i guess he had the time to think up names.

Who knows how they are pronounced? For some reason someone could pronounce "Puffy" as "Poofy" because of the "u". (In japan the "u" makes an "oo" sound.)

I myself take the three-sylable approach. I use the "AA" sound in the middle, though. "Ree-AA-la" instead of "Ree-ah-la," that is.

I've always pronounced it Ree-ah-lah primarily because of the Japanese spelling: Ri-A-Ra and the way it looks RE-A-LA. But I guess this is a "tomatoe, tomahto" thing XD

I've always said it like "real" with an "uh" on the end -- "reeluh".

Then again I pronounce Charmy Bee as "Karmee" thanks to a preview of Chaotix I saw in a magazine. XD The name they gave him was Charmacee Bee and "karmakee" sounded more natural than "char-muh-see".
